This property has been in my family for generations. Spent many a summer growing up on Duck Lake. Fabulous lakefront views from the deck and perfect swimming or beach volleyball. Room enough to create fond vacation memories for your entire family.
We absolutely loved this cottage! It was very roomy as you can see by the pictures and I loved the shallow sandy water for our grandchildren. We have been renting different cottages trying to find the right one to come back to and this is it! Felt like home. Even tho the following things are listed, I thought I would mention them for what we appreciated about the cottage:
1st and foremost the lake, the sandy bottom and shallowness for the kids!
Big Kitchen-stocked with most everything you will need.
Kitchen Table-everyone could eat together/don't find that in a lot of cottages.
Large Laundry/Mud room-didn't think we would use it, but it came in handy.
2 bathrooms-nice when people visited and you have a crowd.
Plenty of life jackets
Central air-only used it a little bit but nice to have/don't fine that often either.
Big deck-close to the water
Nice neighbors on both sides.
Plenty of parking, even for guest.
Everything was great, the views, the comfort of the house and even a boat to use for fishing. Thanks Patti for opening your cottage, we'll be back next year :)
The Scheurer Family
This cottage is everything the description says it is and more. Clean, spacious (I actually loved cooking in the kitchen because you could fit so many cooks in it) great location, but most of all the sandy beach was perfect for all of the grandkids. I don't know who had more fun, the kids swimming or the adults relaxing on the deck watching.
Anyone who wants to spend a relaxing week (or more) on the lake (fishing was good too) I highly recommend this cottage.
Thanks Patti for providing a place for us to visit with family and friends while enjoying Duck Lake.
where do I start ...we love the house and the fact that everything is ready for when we get there ..we have been coming there for two years and we will always come there as long as it is open ..we live in the city back home ..so this is just what we needed to get away for a while and see family too ..we just love the house and would like to thank you for keeping it very clean and ready for us when you pull in ..best place ever ..
We had a wonderful vacation at your charming cottage, it exceeded our expectations. It was everything you said it would be and more. You thought of everything to make your guests comfortable. Last but at least we enjoyed the fishing.
My wife was in heaven the moment we walked into this amazing cottage. After a short 1 1/2 hour drive from our home near Detroit, we arrived to find the cottage in immaculate condition. The large kitchen area easily handled the many hungry family members that lined up for breakfast every morning. Sitting on the deck, one could soak up the brilliant sunshine or walk down a couple of steps to the large shade tree at the water's edge. Temperatures were in the low 90's and sunny during our stay but the breeze coming off the water made it very comfortable. My six year-old grand-daughter had her first experience with fishing and after several practice casts, was catching bass right off the dock. The beautiful sunsets and sounds of the water lapping against the seawall while reading a good book at night made the stay very peaceful and relaxing.
Tom and Patti have done an outstanding job in providing everything you need to make your stay enjoyable--from board games and rafts for the kids, to frozen mugs and martini glasses for the adults. The hardest part of the whole vacation was getting my wife to walk out the door on Friday, but with the knowledge that we will definitely be returning next year.
We rented this beautiful home for a month in April & May 2012. Wanted to take advantage of the spring fishing and also have our adult children who live out of state come for a relaxing family vacation. We had a great time. Home was large and clean with beautiful views of the lake from the house and deck. The fishing was great, caught largemouth bass, sunfish, blue gill, perch and rock bass practically off the dock. We brought our kayaks but also used the fishing boat provided and were able to get around the lake just fine. Looking forward to coming back next year. Thanks again Patti & Tom for the hospitality and memories.
