We first came to Pinetop-Lakeside 10 years ago and stayed in a vacation rental cabin and fell in love with the area. The quiet serenity it provides is a much needed escape from the hustle and bustle of Phoenix. Since that first trip, we have come more often and stayed longer each time. When we first saw this property we knew it was the one for us! What a dream come true to own such a wonderful cabin! We now enjoy sharing it with people that will enjoy it as much as we do.
My husband and I stayed there for a week before Christmas with my Mother In Law and 3 small children (5, 3, and 1.5). We had the best time. There were some toys upstairs for the kids to play with and a booster seat in the dining room for the baby. There were also lots of board games. There rooms were all cozy and the beds were comfortable. The wood burning fire place kept the cabin very warm and enjoyable. There was no dishwasher, so we had to wash dishes by hand, but that wasn't that big of a deal to us, but something to consider if you'll be doing a lot of cooking or have a large group. There were bikes and fun things in the garage for outside exploring. Overall the cabin was very charming and pleasant, we would stay there again and recommend it to friends. The owners were very pleasant and easy to work with.
The cabin was great. We stayed for 5 days with 5 adults and 4 kids, and there was plenty of room and everything we needed inside and out!
Great cabin and Nicole is incredibly easy to get a hold of and deal with. We had a family of five with two teenagers and this was the perfect cabin! Old rustic feel with modern updates made for the perfect blend. There are basketball and tennis courts within a short walking distance which the teenagers loved. This cabin had bikes available which made for great walks through the area. Having wifi was great because we had zero cell service. Having four bedrooms was even better because everyone had a space to unwind in. The 4 days that we were there we only ate out once since we had all the utensils we needed to cook at the cabin including a crock pot! The dinning room was my favorite, there was plenty of room for a big family and the views out the windows are gorgeous, tall trees everywhere. When searching for a cabin I didn't want to be right next to other cabins, I must say there is plenty of space and tall trees separating you from the neighbors, which we liked. This cabin was originally our second choice, however from here on it will be our first choice!
My family and stayed in the cabin for a weekend snowboarding trip. The place was perfect for us! I think the place looks nicer and bigger in person. The neighborhood even had a small playground right up the street which was perfect for the kids. It was super comfortable and would definitely return.
Wow! That word pretty much sums up our 3 night stay at the Woodpecker Cabin over Christmas 2015. It was beyond beautiful! The pictures provided don't do justice to this gorgeous cabin. It has a cabin feel for sure...and that is what we were looking for for our holiday. Its comfortable and cozy and has EVERYTHING you could possible need. All the beds are super comfortable and there's enough room to move around. We got so much snow it was just BEAUTIFUL. The wood for the chimney was easy to get and the heat throughout the house was perfect. I was a little concerned about the cabin being too close to other cabins but there's nice space in between the cabin homes and it feels private and safe. The WiFi in the house definitely saved our lives because there wasn't great mobile service for any of us. There are plenty of games and toys for the little ones and cable TV as well. We used netflix and amazon video all through our stay :).Nicole was so nice to call us and ask if we wanted her to put up her Christmas tree for us. Also she left a binder with directions to everything and all the stores and locations for activities near by. We went to the ski resort that was about 40 minutes away and it was as if there was a blanket of snow was put over the entire place. It was a little dangerous on the roads but if your going up there for the snow you'll know to be prepared! Over all we had an unforgettable experience at the Woodpecker Cabin and we will definitely be returning!
This cabin has everything you need for a fun time in the White Mountains. Internet & TV are outstanding if you want to stay connected. Very "kid friendly" in a gated community that has playgrounds, basketball & tennis courts and open areas just a short walk from the cabin. Location is perfect because you are close to shopping, fine dining, horseback riding, lakes, etc. If you just want some quiet time, this is also the perfect place, no car noise, no loud music, just the whispering pines.
