Two apartments Paso Doble on Main & Tango on 1st 400 peso charge for 8th and 9t

Casa Terraza is located at the Tepetapa Glorieta (roundabout), across from the old train station. We are only a few steps up a well lit walkway from the main road Carrizo. There you can find taxis and buses to take you anywhere in Guanajuato. Walking to the Centro takes about 5 minutes.

Paso Doble is a fully furnished apartment on the main level and Tango is a fully furnished apartment on the first floor and includes

▪ Kitchen (dishes, pans, glasses, cutlery).

▪ Pillow top queen size beds, single bed and sofa bed with 1000 thread count sheets. The 8th and 9th person sleep on the sofa bed in the TV room. There is a 400 peso charge for the sofa bed/linens etc. per stay

About Susan Pataky

Endre and I are Calgary, Canada based with a love to travel. We discovered Guanajuato in December 2012 and it was love at first sight. The culture, colours, vibrancy and driving through the tunnels sealed the deal. Two months later we returned to look for property as an 'exit strategy' and found Carrizo 2. Endre is a project manager and designed the renovation of this four story building. Translating the drawings into Spanish, he then brought on an exceptional architect from Leon and the two worked tirelessly on this project. Spending about a ⅓ of each month in Guanajuato, together they sourced all the materials purchased locally with the exception of some items brought down from Ikea.

You will notice the porcelain tiles from Italy, custom made doors and cabinetry, marble sinks and comfy pillow topped beds.

Why Susan Pataky chose Guanajuato

The pleasure of walking and discovering callejones (narrow alleyways) gives one an understanding of neighbourhoods connected by plazas full of life and colour. Due to the geography of this small city, many homes are reachable only by dozens of steps. We sought out a home close to the street level so when your taxi dropped you off, it was only a few steps, not a hundred up to your front door.

What makes this apartment unique

We both need to work remotely while away therefore each floor has individual high speed wifi. The water is heated via solar panels and all lighting is LED. Sky TV offers over a hundred channels. The highlight is the Terrace. With a rooftop garden, two dining areas and lounge seating, this is the perfect spot to relax after your day of exploring. A rooftop washroom saves a trip back to your apartment and if you need, there is a washing machine with lines to dry your clothes.

good place but a little noisy

A bit of a walk to downtown. Avoid Tango on the second floor. It was very noisy from the cantina downstairs. The first floor was not bad. Unavoidable dog barking. This place has a very nice terrace and quite a few rooms.

Great Location & View in Guanajuato

My group of six had a great two day stay in Casa Terraza (Paso Doble & Rumba) in July of 2016. The rooms are stylish and comfortable, the location is relatively central, and of course the rooftop terrace is wonderful. The only issue we ran into was a paucity of hot water in the showers and some apparent mold in one bedroom that prevented one of my friends from sleeping comfortably. Overall, a great place to stay in a beautiful and interesting city.

Owner's Response: Thank you for your comments, especially on the bedroom. I am sorry the room was not able to be used by your friend. We are looking at the moisture problem and it appears it could be rainwater from an unusually wet July. We are dealing with it from a building envelope perspective. As well, we are washing the walls with an anti fungicide and anti moldicide. Since your stay, our plumber replaced a check value on the solar heater which seems to have corrected the problem with intermittent hot water. Your comments help us to improve and correct issues. Nice apartment,good location; need better cleaning

The apartment was well equipped, comfortable. The location was ideal for walking to attractions or catching taxis which were readily available. Probably the most disturbing item was the carpet in the living room which was dirty when we arrived. We asked both Copelia and the cleaning lady to clean it. It never got cleaned. If there is no vacuum cleaner, then they should buy one or throw out the rug. Also, the towels, probably because no dryer available, resulted in fluff flying everywhere including getting into our clothes. The cleaning lady should wash and dry all the glass tables in the living room. Did you know that all the tags were still on the dishes, so we assumed they were not washed before they were put in the cupboard. When we washed them, the tags came off.

Owner's Response: Thank you for your review and suggestions. Glad to hear the location and comfort of Casa Terraza suited your needs. We stayed in Paso Doble just prior to you and I agree, the carpet is an issue. The short pile carpet doesn't work due to the dusty winds. I apologize for the cleaning that did not take place after your request and will look into why that happened. We will be there in three weeks and will look into either replacing and getting a vacuum cleaner or removing it entirely. The towels are new and you may have had them after their first washing. They come from Costco and we like to use them as they are larger than any others we have found. I'll advise the cleaning lady to shake them out after drying. Your glass tables were cleaned the morning of your arrival. The dust does show up in a couple of days and we have glass cleaner and paper towels to assist you during your stay.
