Beautifully remodeled and newly furnished East Vail private home. Your family and friends will enjoy this lovely, comfortable home. Light and bright with vaulted ceilings and beautiful mountain views. Comfortable beds await you after a hard day of mountain play. Let our mountain home be your mountain home.

The two master bedrooms each have a loft which is not included in the square footage calculation for the home. Each loft has steep, narrow stairs not suited for small children. It is suggested that children should use the bunk room. 6 of the 8 beds in the house are not in the loft, only 2 beds are in the lofts (one in each loft).

The large open living room features a 46” flat screen, cable TV above a stone fireplace and inviting leather sectional sofa, perfect for relaxing and conversation. Cable TV. Catch a beautiful après ski sunset out on the deck.

All new kitchen has premium appliances, alder cabinetry, granite counters, and heated slate floor. The kitchen is outfitted with everything you need to prepare and serve a wonderful meal. The large kitchen table seats eight comfortably with additional seating for four along counter. Plenty of room for all to gather.

Bedrooms all have their own separate bathrooms, new mattresses and flat screen TVs. Bedroom #1 upstairs - has a queen bed and a spiral staircase leading up to a twin bed loft. The loft is small and ideal for an extra visitor or older child. There is also a small private deck off this bedroom. Bedroom #2 - has a queen bed. A tucked-away staircase leads up to a cozy open loft with a queen bed. The lower floor bedroom #3 (Bunkroom) - has one twin/twin bunk and one full/full bunk. The bunkroom can easily sleep 4 children of any age, a family of 5, or a group of friends. There is a separate powder room off the kitchen/living room. The house accommodates 8 to 10 very comfortably and can sleep as many as 12

Garage access and powder room are located off the entry foyer and kitchen. It is convenient and easy to pull up to the house and unload skis and gear into the garage. The garage has overflow shelving for storing anything you may you bring. There are also benches for easy changing in/out of your ski boots. The foyer has space to keep jackets, shoes, and boots warm and dry. Laundry area is located on lower level accessible through the entry foyer.

Don’t waste time driving around Vail navigating parking garages and parking lots! Don’t settle for a dinky condo with limited parking. Experience the convenience of East Vail. Our home is located at the western end of East Vail on the free Town of Vail bus route with easy freeway and frontage road access. East Vail’s only market is just a short walk from the house. Gore Creek and the Vail bike path are directly across the street. Walk to many different trailheads. There’s ample parking for two cars+. Make the most of your vacation dollars in this family-friendly home.

The Pitkin Creek Bus Stop is about 200 yards from our front door. The East Vail overflow parking lot is adjacent to our neighborhood at the East Vail I 70 exit. The Bus runs every 15 minutes during peak season hours. It is very easy to catch the bus and we rarely use our car once we arrive at our house.

About Richard Grodahl -

The house is co-owned by the Grodahl and Vogel families.The Grodahl's live in Orange County, CA. We attended CU Boulder and developed a love of the Rockies that we have passed down to our children. Katie Vogel, and her husband Brian, also have strong ties to Colorado. Katie is a CU grad and Brian grew up in Evergreen. He graduated from Notre Dame, but we don't hold it against him. The Vogels and their children live in the Denver Area. We have a long history of vacationing together. Co-owning a mountain home has been a rewarding family experience. Our children especially enjoy spending time together in Vail. Our familes love to ski, hike, and bike. Vail is the perfect mountain destination! World class skiing and a terrific village setting make Vail our home away from home.

Very nice to meet you Emily and we did use the tubes and they were wonderful on the creek. Amazing how you have covered every base for your guests. Truly you are great hosts and my family all said need to return to Bighorn. We checked out at 10:00 and hope we left all neat and orderly. Notes:
Our neighborhood is along the Town of Vail free bus route. Its just a short walk to the Pitkin Creek covered bus shelter. There is also a small market / liquor store located at Pitkin Creek condos which is very handy for most anything you'll need. Gore creek and the bike trail are located just across Bighorn Drive from the house. Plenty of PARKING.

The House was very well appointed and spacious. The owners were very pleasant and helpful.

This is a great house in a great location for skiing Vail. We occupied the house in the middle of a unseasonably hot, dry period of July. The lack of air conditioning (and I think very few homes /stores / hotels have a/c) made late afternoon and sleeping uncomfortable. Again, the location is exceptional for access to Vail and Lions Head but being sandwiched between I70 and Bighorn Road meant there was some ambient traffic noise but that really only impacted the enjoyment of the 2nd floor deck. The views from the den and the deck were incredible. The House was very well appointed and the hot tub is top notch. Overall a great experience. And I can’t say enough about the owners...very helpful and accessible.

I loved this mountain home! Really great location

This Vail lodge was excellent for the purpose of skiing and staying close to Vail affordably. The home is very well stocked with all the amenities of home, especially in the kitchen and plenty of rooms to for guests and kids. The hot tub and beds are clean well cared for. Great place to bring the family, right on the bus rout into town. I completely enjoyed myself and would return again.

Wonderful home! We will definitely be back!

We absolutely loved our stay over spring break at this home! The house had everything you could possibly need for a comfortable and enjoyable stay. Right off the bus route (which we didn’t end up using) and walking distance to the market for any last minute items you may have forgotten. Definitely take a look at what is in the pantry/fridge before you go shopping. The honor pantry had all the staples like seasonings/etc we had already bought. Take a little and leave a little. The kids loved the hot tub and being able to jump out of the hot tub into the snow and back. Lol. Kitchen is fully stocked. There wasn’t anything we needed for cooking that it didn’t have. Even had a crock pot. Great for throwing in something to cook while you’re out skiing for the day. Lots of board games and puzzles to keep the family entertained. We did four of the puzzles! Heated floors in the kitchen and bath were great. Beds and bedding were comfortable. Slept like we were at home. Can’t say enough about this place. You won’t be disappointed! Hope to be back in the future!

Lovely, convenient private home in East Vail

Our party of 10 had a wonderful stay at this lovely home in East Vail over Christmas break. The house is very conveniently located off of the highway, which we appreciated because we were skiing in Breck, not Vail. There was plenty of room for all of us (two families of 5) and we appreciated having the garage to store our skiing gear during the stay. We made use of the hot tub and the heated kitchen floor...so nice! Thanks for sharing your wonderful home!

Another fantastic stay!

This was the second year in a row we chose this home in East Vail for our annual guys ski trip. It slept 9 comfortably and we selected it due to: it's location to the shuttle stop, hot tub, good layout and decor, plenty of parking and overall great experience with the owners. It really was an easy experience working with them and they work hard to make sure all is in line before you leave. They were even immediately responsive when we had a question during our stay. We had a vehicle with a dead battery and even found a set of jumper cables to borrow in the garage. We had a great time on our trip to Vail.

Rafting is immediately across the street from our house. Pitkin Creek meets Gore Creek at the end of our driveway. There are endless opportunities for outdoor activities right outside our front door. Skiing - 200 steps from our front door is the FREE bus directly into the center of Vail. Once we arrive at our house, a car is rarely needed. Vail village is wonderful- lots to do!
