Great property! I really loved it! The kitchen was well stocked and the place was very clean. The hot tub was very relaxing and the grill was easy to use. Having a dock for my boat was also a plus . I will definitely be back.
My family and I wanted a short getaway before all the holiday madness and were pleasantly surprised by this home. We originally emailed about another house, but the folks over at Phoenix Rentals said it was not available and offered this house instead. We took it, because it fit our 2 couples a teen and a child.
We were warned that the owner was meticulous, but I never expected this home to be so great, well equipped and clean. The neighbors were nice and welcoming and it was a very quiet neighborhood. We used the grill twice to cook our catch, and the kitchen nearly every day for breakfast and to prepare our coolers for the long boating days. This home had everything we could ever need, even tupperware! LOL
We hauled our 21 foot open fisherman and docked it out back. It was great being able to put it in the water with the ramp right there, having it safely within view and not having to dish out tons of cash at the marina. It was also nice not having to pull it out of the water each day and just tying it up at the dock. This was my husbands favorite part. I personally loved the hot tub. I would use it each day after getting back from the ocen to relax with my drink. Did I mention there is a stocked bar inside?!?!?
Anyway, we'll definitely be back and as my title says, this is our new home away from home. Thanks again for the referral Phoenix. We'll call you up for our next visit.
This place was hands on amazing! We spent the week there with my family and it was just an amazing and comfortable place. Not only were you right on the water, but they also had a hot tub, which was a nice surprise. Overall my experience was fantastic and I definitely would stay here again and I would definitely recommend it to everyone I know!
My family and I wanted to have a short getaway before the holiday madness and we chose this home, because of it's great location, marina and ramp. It was great being able to bring our boat in the water right from the back of the home and not have to pay an arm and a leg at a marina. We have a 21' open fisherman, and had no trouble docking it here. It was also nice having the boat in the water safely within our view without having to take it out each time we went out.
I personally loved being able to use the hot tub to relax after a long day out on the boat. We used the grill twice to cook our catch and enjoyed the mini bar! LOL We were a total of 6 (2 couples, 1 teen and 1 child) and the home was well laid out for us. Kitchen was well stocked and the place was truly very clean. I was warned that the owner was meticulous and you can certainly tell by how well kept this place is.
The folks at Phoenix helped us find this place after we had asked about another home that was not available. Many thanks for that. This is our new home away from home when visiting the Keys.
This home was amazing, I came down for my birthday and having only been down to the Keys a few times before and never to Islamorada, I decided to come down and stay for an entire week. I wish I would have stayed for longer!
The home was amazing, exactly as described and exactly like the photos. The home is very spacious and beautifully appointed it also does overlook a wonderful canal! For anyone with a boat it must be awesome to have a dock right in your backyard.
The best part of staying in Islamorada is definitely the fact that it is known as the sportfishing capital of the world, I can see why it has earned this name! We went on several fishing trips with some friends that came down for my birthday and the fishing was great, and as an even greater plus all of the chartered fishing locations are so close to this home.
Overall the home was awesome, and I am already planning out a trip next year to come back down here for my birthday again!
We would like to give this rental a good review because the rental agent and the owner were very nice. However:
1. After two weeks we have still not received a refund of our damage deposit. We left the place very clean, no damage, nothing missing, all linens and towels washed, and beds made. There was only one set of poor quality linens for each bed (no change of linens), and only eight towels for a three bedroom house.
2. Forget sunsets. No water view except a polluted backwater canal which is two canals over from the Atlantic.
3. The lot is much smaller than it appears in the on-line photograph.
4. The house is located about 200 feet from U.S. 1, and tremendous road noise is constant 24/7. The road noise is so loud at times you cannot hold a conversation outside the house.
5. Yes, it has a dock. But the owner's boats occupy all but 17 feet of the dock space.
6. While we were there, sewer lines were being installed in the street, and the entire roadway (Iroquois St.) from U.S. 1 to the house was a construction nightmare. On one occasion, the water was turned off (without notice) from mid-morning until late afternoon. Due to the construction, it was a major traffic hazard to get into and out of Iroquois St. from U.S. 1 the whole time we were there. This alone would have dissuaded us from renting the house, and we should have been informed of the construction mess before we booked.
Key Largo, called "the first of the Florida Keys," because of its northernmost location along the Florida Keys chain, is an hour's drive from Miami International airport. Yet it is a world away. Home to a national marine sanctuary, John Pennekamp Coral Reef State Park, Key Largo boasts some of the most fascinating diving/snorkeling adventures in Florida. A host of eco-tourism and dive-snorkel services are ready to help you discover the natural wonders of Key Largo. If you like to go fishing, be sure to reserve your charter boat and enjoy the sport fishing experience of a life time with the best charter captains and fishing guides in the world. You can go after sailfish offshore, bonefish along the Atlantic shallows, or redfish and tarpon in the Florida Bay. After a day of great fishing, you can visit some of the many family-owned restaurants that will serve you the day’s fresh catch or prepare your own! And don’t forget to try the key lime pie, which is a Key specialty. Islamorada is only 15 miles off Key Largo and it is home to the Theater of the Sea where you can swim with the dolphins. It is also home to the world famous Tiki Bar serving up frozen drink such as Piña Coladas, Rum Runners or my personal favorite, a Miami Vice. There are also several other local bars and restaurants, often featuring live bands to help you wind down after a day of fun in the South Florida sun. Whether sinking your feet in the sand, snorkeling, kayaking, fishing, dining, shopping or sight-seeing, Key Largo and Islamorada have enough to keep any visitor in awe from beginning to end. Staying a week, a month or more? You’re always a local when you’re in Key Largo. Come visit your home away from home.
