Great value for small group!
We stayed for the month of July, 2017, family of three with occasional visitors. The house was perfect for our needs. The location is convenient to everything. Beach access is just a few blocks and a small market is just up the street. You can walk to 101 shops and restaurants, about 5-10 minutes. There is a partial ocean view from the living area and deck. The kitchen is well outfitted with high quality cookware and utensils. There is a Keurig as well as standard coffee maker along with microwave and dishwasher. The king bed in the master bedroom is very comfy and the twin over double in the small bedroom is adequate for kids or small adults. We did use the sofa sleeper for a couple of nights as well and no complaints there. There is a washer and dryer in the basement along with a powder room which came in handy as we were all sharing the full bath upstairs (which has an entry from both the living area and the master bedroom). The house is small, but had everything we needed for our size group. I would definitely rent again and found it to be a great value as a monthly rental.
Can't beat the price for what you get!
My mom and I stayed in this nostalgic (for us because we are from the east coast) home for the month of July. It is centrally located on the coast and we were able to travel north and south along 101 with ease. There were many highlights ... the grocery store (IGA) was a 2 minute walk and had everything we could need including a very nice deli. Across the street from the grocery was Barnacle Bill's which sold very yummy and reasonably priced fresh seafood. Also nearby was a variety of fast food restaurants. A shopping center with your traditional larger stores was a five minute drive north.
Highlights of the house ... cool, grassy backyard (no fence), open deck with gas BBQ and ocean view (now has a gate at the top of the stairs), new king in master bedroom, comfortable double bunk in second bedroom, nicely remodeled bathroom (extra toilet in basement for emergencies), fully stocked kitchen (lots of nice pots and pans, etc.), flat screen TV with lots of gadgets and programs, comfortable dining area, and more!
The house very definitely has an ocean view - on a clear day (like any coast rental) - not to be confused with a beach view! (That would be closer to the ocean and would cost you double your money.) The walk to the beach was very doable for myself, my pup, and my grandchildren, but not my mom (but she has joint difficulties). Although she ventured down and back up the 50+ steps one evening for a beach campfire!
Some traffic, but the neighborhood in general is quiet and people are friendly. Any time we had a need (which wasn't often), the owner responded quickly. It is obvious the owner is regularly making improvements for the comfort of the guests!
A very nice place to stay
This was a sweet little house in a great location. Close to beach and a grocery store within walking distance. Easy access to !0! but no traffic noise. We stayed for three months with our dog and found the house had everything we could need. The house is in a great neighborhood, good for walking. All in all a great stay.
We are so happy you enjoyed your stay!
We had a very nice time. Very convenient location
Would have liked a tv in master bedroom along with a workable one in the guest bedroom. Stairs to cellar were not fun and very awkward. Overall the house was very well equipped and we would not hesitate to stay again.
I'm glad you enjoyed the house and found it will equipped. Looking forward to your next stay.
An amazingly relaxing getaway
We had a wonderful time during our stay, and will definitely be coming back when more vacation time permits.
The surrounding neighborhood is very quiet, and our strolls to the beach were absolutely heavenly. The house itself was charming and well maintained...very cozy, with a nice view. It is handily located near many great shopping and dining options...we particularly enjoyed the numerous antique malls and the nearby casino. As far as conveniences go, a grocery store is located right down the street and the beach is an easy walk. I would definitely recommended this property to anyone looking for an affordable coastal vacation. Simply perfect.
I'm so glad you loved it, we look forward to your return visit!
We rented this property for August 2013
!. The walk to and from the beach was difficult at best.
2. The ocean views from the living room and deck were very limited
3. Limited tv channels with no local news or weather
4.There was no Wifi (we didn't think to ask in advance)
5 We could not receive mail due to some Lincoln City restriction
6. We stayed eight nights and left. Vacations are supposed to be fun
We highly encourage every prospective renter to thoroughly read our listing before booking so they aren't expecting what we don't offer. The listing includes a map showing the distance between the house and the beach. We are uphill from the beach. The first and closest beach access is 5 blocks away and has 50 stairs. If you are physically disabled or handicapped this could be difficult. Most people will have no problem at all with the 8 minute walk and I have had no other complaints. Additionally, the second beach access is a walk-on (no stairs) access an additional 10 minutes away. The ocean view is from 5 blocks away. We thoroughly enjoy the view and colorful sunsets from our deck and living room. At the time this renter booked, our listing clearly stated no cable or wi-fi. Cable, local channels and wi-fi are now available. You can receive mail at the Lincoln City Post Office which is 5 minute drive from the house. We work very hard to be clear in our listing, so that renters feel their expectations were met.
Golf: Chinook Winds Golf Resort is 5 minutes from our house. Another 15 minutes north Neskowin has two courses. 15 minutes to the south, Salishan Golf Resort in Gleneden offers great golfing, restaurant, miniature golf and an upscale shopping mall.
