About the property

Private apartment on Beacon Hill

Your own first floor apartment in a charming gas lit neighborhood with all the convenience and excitement of the city at your feet. This is a one bedroom with one double/full sized bed, ideal for a single person or a couple.

Charming private apartment nestled among single family townhouses in the heart of historic Beacon Hill just steps from Charles Street. Restaurants, gourmet food shops, cafes, and art galleries are within walking distance. The historic 50 acre Boston Commons, Public Garden, The Freedom Trail, and the Boston Athenaeum are a few blocks away.

Historic Greek revival private townhouse in Boston's most desirable neighborhood. The apartment is full of art, period pieces, high ceilings, a small kitchen, one full size bed, cable TV, iHome, and wireless internet.

Ideal for a single person or a couple. There is only one double/full size real bed. Although the apartment is optimal for one or two people we have had numerous requests from families. To accommodate this we have acquired an inflatable twin size bed and a Graco Pack 'N Play portable crib.

Air conditioning and access to free laundry in the basement. The apartment is very private. You can come and go as you please. There are usually a couple of other people in the house. There are two other apartments. One upstairs and one down. You will hear people coming and going or chatting in the front hall.

The house is very quiet. No partying going on. There are no pets in the building.

Basement washing machine and dryer. No charge.

Bed linens and soft towels are provided.

Fixings for coffee and tea are included.

I'll make sure you feel welcome and right at home.

Enter through a shared main hall just a few steps up from the street. From the entrance hall you have a locked door to your own private, first floor apartment. I'll be there to greet you and show you around the apartment and answer any questions.

I work at home in an office on the first floor and I live upstairs with my family. I am usually in the building or in the neighborhood if you have any questions or need advice on where to go and what to see. I'm not a whiz with electronics but If you're having trouble with the TV remote or the a/c, I can find someone who can sort it out. I'm not even writing this myself.

Beacon Hill is a unique village in the middle of the city. The locals are out and about walking their dogs, taking their kids to school, going down to the corner for ice cream, a walk along the Charles River, or meeting friends for coffee. The area is extremely safe, family neighborhood.

MGH/Charles Street subway stop on the Red Line is just 2 blocks away. Back Bay and the Financial District are within walking distance. Bike rental (Hubway) is one block away. All other neighborhood are accessible by subway or cab.

Trash and recycling days are Monday and Friday in case you want to put something out. You can put something out after 5 pm the night before, and up to 7 am on the day of. Putting out something outside of these times may result in a fine.

I've lived in this neighborhood with my family for 35 years. I was born and raised in Boston, in the old West End. I am a retired architect. I am almost always in the house or nearby. Conveniently Located Quiet Private

  • 5 of 5

Toured sites in Boston and Cambridge for a week without a car.

Was able to walk to many places including to have meals, shop, nail services, drugstore, stroll in the Gardens.

Quick response for cab rides or Uber.

Proprietor, Bernardo, very helpful if needed.

Charm and Convenience!

  • 5 of 5

We absolutely adored staying in this attractively appointed apartment with a true Beacon Hill feel where Bernardo welcomed us like family! Close to the T stop, a valet parking garage, and shops. And a quick T ride or Uber to universities in Cambridge, or to the airport. Every little convenience has been thought of from the well-stocked kitchen with lovely antique dishes, to the air and heat units that keep one very comfortable, to the bath with clean fluffy towels, soaps, and even a tiny sewing kit. A nice display of books and brochures of the Boston area and beyond was very helpful. The decor, art, and furnishings were a pleasure to the soul after a long day. We'll definitely request to stay again on our next visit!

Boston 4th of July

  • 5 of 5

We loved the location, classic Beacon Hill. Bernardo was very accommodating and available. A better TV cable package would have been nice for the lazy hours after touring Boston. Great access to the subway. We used it every day. A car would have been impossible, parking is limited and dedicated to local permit holders. Overall it was the foundation to a wonderful visit for a family reunion.

Everything I imagined.

  • 5 of 5

From the moment I made contact with Bernardo via this site, the process could not have been easier. All emails to Bernardo are answered promptly and the pictures of the apartment are a true representation of what you will find. Beacon Hill is a delightful, quiet, residential area and Charles Street offers a fantastic range of characterful shops, cafes etc. A particular shout for Panificio where we enjoyed breakfast, lunch and dinner. If you favour more relaxed informal dining it will not disappoint. From the apartment a walk through the park takes you to most of the Boston sites or the train system is very straightforward. As an art lover I'd particularly mention the museum over at Harvard which is superb. This is a classy apartment in a classy town. I hope I find myself back there some day.
