About the property

Private apartment on Beacon Hill

Your own first floor apartment in a charming gas lit neighborhood with all the convenience and excitement of the city at your feet. This is a one bedroom with a queen sized bed, ideal for a single person or a couple.

Charming private apartment nestled among single family townhouses in the heart of historic Beacon Hill just steps from Charles Street. Restaurants, gourmet food shops, cafes, and art galleries are within walking distance. The historic 50 acre Boston Commons, Public Garden, The Freedom Trail, and the Boston Athenaeum are a few blocks away.

Historic Greek revival private townhouse in Boston's most desirable neighborhood. The apartment is full of art, period pieces, high ceilings, a small kitchen, one full size bed, cable TV, iHome, and wireless internet.

Ideal for a single person or a couple. There is only a queen-size real bed. Although the apartment is optimal for one or two people we have had numerous requests from families. To accommodate this we have acquired an inflatable twin size bed and a Graco Pack 'N Play portable crib.

Air conditioning and access to free laundry in the basement. The apartment is very private. You can come and go as you please. There are usually a couple of other people in the house. There are two other apartments. One upstairs and one down. You will hear people coming and going or chatting in the front hall.

The house is very quiet. No partying going on. There are no pets in the building.

Basement washing machine and dryer. No charge.

Bed linens and soft towels are provided.

Fixings for coffee and tea are included.

I'll make sure you feel welcome and right at home.

Enter through a shared main hall just a few steps up from the street. From the entrance hall you have a locked door to your own private, first floor apartment. I'll be there to greet you and show you around the apartment and answer any questions.

I work at home in an office on the first floor and I live upstairs with my family. I am usually in the building or in the neighborhood if you have any questions or need advice on where to go and what to see. I'm not a whiz with electronics but If you're having trouble with the TV remote or the a/c, I can find someone who can sort it out. I'm not even writing this myself.

Beacon Hill is a unique village in the middle of the city. The locals are out and about walking their dogs, taking their kids to school, going down to the corner for ice cream, a walk along the Charles River, or meeting friends for coffee. The area is extremely safe, family neighborhood.

MGH/Charles Street subway stop on the Red Line is just 2 blocks away. Back Bay and the Financial District are within walking distance. Bike rental (Hubway) is one block away. All other neighborhood are accessible by subway or cab.

Trash and recycling days are Monday and Friday in case you want to put something out. You can put something out after 5 pm the night before, and up to 7 am on the day of. Putting out something outside of these times may result in a fine.

Beautiful place in ideal Beacon Hill location

  • 5 of 5

My wife and I really enjoyed our stay at this cozy Beacon Hill place. Just the right size for two people , very clean and had all the needed amenities . Only a block away from Beacon Hill shopping and dinning but on a quiet Street. Our host Bernardo was very attentive

Location, location, location

What a place! My wife and I couldn't have been in a better location with better amenities in the unit. We felt like we received great value for the price paid. The kitchen was sufficient for our cooking needs and access to a laundry machine was greatly appreciated. The common room and bedroom both had ductless HVAC units which provided comfort when a tropical system blew through the area. There were great resources in the unit to help us plan our visits around the city as well as adequate Wi-Fi for keeping up with things. This was our first experience with a VRBO, and we were so glad we used the service and found this place. We were in the area for a destination wedding and had a number of family members share that they wished they had looked into such a place rather than stay at the nearby hotel. The location just off Charles Street and Cambridge Street was central to the Commons and Back Bay to the south and all the tourist sites of the North End. We were very pleased with everything.

Very nice property in a great location

  • 5 of 5

Owner Bernardo greeted us upon our arrival and showed us the rooms, explained some of the features and was very hospitable. The bed (a double bed) was comfortable for my spouse and I (we're not big people). The bedroom is at the back of the property and we didn't hear any traffic or other noise at night. The property is in a location that allows one to easily walk to the Commons, the Freedom Trail and the North End where there are plenty of restaurants. Bernardo has done a really nice job of decorating the living room with interesting items. If we return to Boston, we would want to use this VRBO again.

Convenient, Comfortable, Cosy

  • 4 of 5

We stayed here for one week on our first visit to Boston. Bernardo met us, showed us the ropes, and then it was just like living locally, which we enjoyed.

This apartment was precisely as described and pictured. It is small - but it works for two people.

The kitchen is the most challenging space, as we like to eat-in for our breakfast and dinner as much as possible. That was difficult due to the presence of a large, old-fashioned stove (not used) and a microwave on top of the fridge that requires a certain height to reach it. Nonetheless, everything was in working order and we managed the space challenges!

The location was terrific, in easy walking distance to Charles-MGT, Boston Common, the Public Garden, the start of the Freedom Trail, Back Bay and, of course, Charles Street, Beacon Hill.

For most of our stay, we didn't have the best weather, but we enjoyed glorious sunshine on the last day and a bit, and it was lovely.

Bernardo's apartment is a convenient, comfortable and cosy spot to enjoy Boston.

Great holiday in Boston

  • 5 of 5

The apartment was very well located in historic Beacon Hill and close to a subway station for longer trips - to Harvard, JFK Presidential Library etc. Plenty of restaurants nearby. The accommodation was very comfortable for two people with no traffic noise. Host Bernardo greeted us on arrival and made us welcome, even loaning us his membership card for free admission to the Museum of Fine Arts. Recommended.

Toured sites in Boston and Cambridge for a week without a car.

Was able to walk to many places including to have meals, shop, nail services, drugstore, stroll in the Gardens.

Quick response for cab rides or Uber.

About Bernardo Fruciano

I've lived in this neighborhood with my family for 35 years. I was born and raised in Boston, in the old West End. I am a retired architect. I am almost always in the house or nearby. I've traveled extensively. Both my parents were born in Sicily. I am very friendly. I love to meet new people. I love a good joke and know all the ins and outs of living in the city. There is no better place to live in Boston.
