Welcome to Mamie's on Sonoita Creek.Located just three blocks from the heart of Patagonia. This home will transport you to a world of warmth and relaxation. Experience the flight of the Vultures from March until October and maybe see the Grey Hawk nest in the trees along the creek bed behind the house. Weather you are seeking a BIRDING PARADISE, a peaceful retreat, a romantic getaway , FISHING or HUNTING LODGE or you simply want to experience the natural and historic wonders near Patagonia, AZ., you will get what you are looking for at Mamie's on Sonoita Creek. Just a short stroll to the quaint town of Patagonia where you will find charming shops, a library, two markets, Hotel, a few restaurants and even an old Western Bar and Restaurant. Less than a little over one hour from the Tuscon airport, Mamie's combines the magic of a remote getaway and the convenience of a nearby highway. Come stay with us and make it your well kept secret!

NOTE: We have a swamp cooler which is a type of air conditioner. Evaporative swamp coolers use their simple cooling technology to inject moisture into the air, cooling your home or office through evaporation. This added moisture can keep your eyes and skin from drying out. Traditional air conditioners remove moisture from the air, which can be difficult on your eyes and can cause your skin to dry out and crack. If you suffer from asthma or allergies, an evaporate cooler can help with your symptoms. Dry air can aggravate allergies and asthma, especially in children and the elderly, so an evaporative cooler and the added moisture it provides can be particularly beneficial.

Guestbook comments from the manager

A very comfortable home, very well kept and clean. Easy access to the main town of Patagonia in a very cozy friendly neighborhood. The home backs up to the riverbed and is fenced. A perfect location for you birders.

Convenient and quaint

  • 4 of 5

We very much enjoyed our stay here. Centrally located in Patagonia, within walking distance of everything you may need in town. I would add that it is an easy and pleasant walk to the hummingbird center. We especially appreciated having satellite TV and the ability to watch a movie every night.

Quiet and Quaint with All The Amenities You Need

  • 4 of 5

We stayed at Mamie's on Sonoita Creek for the past month and are going back to Flagstaff today, January 6th, 2017. The home is an older double-wide mobile with a fenced front and back yard, which worked out great with our 3 bird dogs. While Flagstaff was getting snow, we were enjoying weather in the 60s and 70s. How great is that? The neighborhood is quiet and it is an easy walk to downtown Patagonia, which is a super friendly little town. We tend to eat in most days and I was able to find everything I needed to cook. The best part of staying at Mamie's was the recently installed Direct TV Premium package and wireless internet. Being able to check email every day enabled me to keep in touch with work. The owner, Jan was quickly responsive to questions I had via email and Jose and Bob, the property managers, were a quick phone call away. I would stay here again!

Owner's Response: Thanks Deb for the Review! So glad you enjoyed your stay in Patagonia. Just for clarification, the house is a single wide mobile home with a stick built addition and walls and roof were built over all. Not that it makes any difference, it's still cozy and quaint

Perfect for us!

  • 5 of 5

Nice little place. Clean and comfortable. We were traveling with our two dogs and needed a place that we would feel comfortable with them. Behind the home is a creek that was dried up at the time, but a great place to walk the dogs. The neighborhood is quite and safe. Bob (caretaker) was very helpful and available if we needed him. The home is within walking distance to the cafes, and grocery store.

Wonderful Hideaway

  • 5 of 5

We spent 5 days at Mamies ... it was a most enjoyable time, and the house was ready upon our arrival, Jose came over and introduced himself to us, and offered any help we may need. It is very conveniently located in the town, and you can walk almost anywhere. We were there primarily for birding, and discovered we were a tad too early, even at Patons, down the road, no hummers at all. The only problem we had was with the DVD player, we couldn't get it to work, so no movies, but we played lots of games instead .. hopefully this has been fixed for the next tenants. We hope to return, and can't thank Jan enough for all her help, from a distance !

Owner's Response: Thank you for your review Sally! Took a few days, but I have checked with the last three guests since you have been to Mamie's and they have been able to work the DVR/CD combo player and watched movies. I'm sorry you had a problem but everything seems to be working now. These new TV's and player's are confusing. If you don't have everything set just right, nothing works. We have had to call our cable company many times as sometimes we push the wrong buttons and we lose our service. I wish you would have called us a second time or Jose would have let me know you had a problem getting the player to work, I could have called someone to get the TV set working correctly for you. We had just purchased that player and TV in Dec. brand NEW and Jose was not instructed on how to work them. I thought I had left good enough instructions. We will be at the home in April and will get the instructions rewritten. Thanks again, Jan .

A great base for exploring.

December 30, 2014

Hello Jan,

We returned home last evening after our vacation in Patagonia.

Just wanted to let you know that we really enjoyed our time spent in your home.

Everything worked out well and we had a great base for exploring southeast Arizona.

Bob and Jose greeted us when we arrived, the home was ready for our arrival and all we had to do was move in.

Hopefully we will have an opportunity to visit the area in the future.
