Spacious Condo in nice location

  • 5 of 5

Our family of 3 enjoyed staying in this spacious condo instead of a hotel while visiting Boston on an 72 hour layover. The condo was in a quiet spot and we had tons of room. Everything we needed was stocked and clean. Marilyn was a wonderful host and always promptly responded to questions. It was super easy to catch an Uber on the corner. We walked home from Fenway after stopping by the nearby Star for groceries. Other sites, such as the Freedom Trail and Harborside, were about 20 minutes away. It was a particularly hot week in Boston when we stayed. The bedrooms were super cool with comfortable beds. The other rooms did cool off after having the AC units run for a couple of hours. I would advise bringing quarters for the laundry in the basement, which was easy to use. The brand new fridge was installed and fully equipped. Be careful not to use the microwave for too long with other electric items running, as we had to reset the electric breaker a couple of times. Also be advised that the unit was on the second floor up stairs if you have heavy suitcases. Overall, we had an excellent stay and liked having this home base.

We enjoyed our stay at this property in Brookline. It was clean and spacious. The location is close to Fenway Park and across street from the Emerald Necklace (if you want to walk or run which we did). Marilyn was there to check us in and provided us with any information we needed. We did the Fenway Park tour which is awesome, visited JFK birthplace in Brookline (free tour), visited Quincy Market, Northend, TD Arena, and a few good restaurants in Brookline (Matt Murphy Pub and Coolidge Corner Clubhouse). Bring quarters for laundry on the property. Beds were very comfortable. It was pretty hot when we were in town so our only suggestion would be for more ceiling fans or additional regular fans in the home to circulate the AC! Thanks to Mark for hosting us and Marilyn for your assistance while there. Boston is a great city!

Great location, needs some updates

  • 4 of 5

The location of the apartment was amazing. It is a mile from Fenway and we were able to walk to and from the game each night. Our point of contact, Marilyn, was very helpful and accommodating. The apartment itself was adorable but some things need to be updated. The blackout shades in the bedroom are paper and taped up and are difficult to use. There are holes in the couch covered by a blanket that sheds on anything that touched it. I dropped something under the bed and was appalled by the dust bunnies. These are all things that could be easily fixed and would make this place even better than it was. Also, the AC was window units and a portable unit which I wasn't sure is mentioned in the description. It worked fine once we got the apartment cooled down. I am sure it is normally adequate - it was in the 90's while we were there. Having a reserved parking spot was amazing and made things so easy. Be careful when you load up and unload - they are seriously about the no parking between 8 and 10am. We got a ticket during the 2 minutes we left the car to get more bags. All in all it was a great place that I would stay in again, especially if the changes I mentioned above were made.

A beautiful yet cozy home

  • 5 of 5

The condo was as described, but had a more comfy feel to it than I expected. It's not only beautifully decorated, but there were amenities like a 55" TV, bluetooth speaker system, Apple TV and a TV in both bedrooms. We were warmly greeted and given any help that we needed. It is a locked building so I felt safe coming and going at night when I was alone. We stayed during the week of the Boston marathon when the city is packed. So Brookline was an excellent location, close enough to walk to places like Brookline village, although most of the time we used the "UBER" personal driver system to see the sites, so transportation wasn't costly. If you make it to Little Italy in the north end, splurge on some authentic Italian desserts at Mike's Pastrys! I also recommend the part land / part water "Duck Tour".

Brookline Village is one of my favorite spots in metro boston. It is a family friendly neighborhood yet steps from the city. Dozens of restaurants and shopping districts are nearby and public transportation is only a stones throw away.
