Perfect Family Beach Getaway

  • 5 of 5

We just returned from 8 nights at the Beachcomber Bungalow, and found it to be a perfectly wonderful vacation spot for our family of 6 (four kids ranging from preschool to age 12). We found the house to be clean, well decorated, and fully stocked. We have rented a number of properties over the years, and one thing I always appreciate is a well stocked home that anticipates any need you might have while you are traveling. The Beachcomber has all of the dishes, cutlery, towels, small appliances, etc. you could need or want for the week. (I did notice one review before renting re: lack of cutlery - that feedback seems to have been addressed and is no longer an issue...which is always a sign of a good, caring owner!)

The location of this house is about 5-6 houses from the beach on a low traffic street that dead ends into the beach. The beach was beautiful and we literally had it to ourselves. Most days, it was only our kids playing in the sand for as far as we could see in either direction! We spent even more of our time by the pool at the Beachcomber Bungalow, which is solar heated to a very comfortable temperature and has a fully screened in lanai. There were plenty of lounge chairs and pool floats/noodles. We ate dinner most nights outside at the table under the lanai, and made use of the gas grill.

I felt the layout of this house was perfect for our family, with two parents and four kids. Our four kids shared the two bedrooms, with two kids per bed. While there is a sofa and a rollaway cot in the (huge!) master bedroom closet (which could almost be another bedroom if needed), I do feel this home is better suited for 6 people than 8. We contemplated bringing one other person with us, but I was glad that we had kept it to 6 people based on the number of beds and bedrooms. We couldn't all eat at the kitchen table since it only seated 4, but we made do and if we hadn't had kids with us we would have moved to the beautiful dining room which could have accommodated all of us. ;)

Overall, we had a great experience. It was our first time in Vero Beach and we would gladly go back again. We spent a morning kayaking the Indian River lagoon, had a private pontoon boat tour, went to the McLarty treasure museum, etc. All in all, a great stay - highly recommend this house.

Joe, the property manager, was a pleasure to work with and was very acommodating re: our arrival times. He was easy to reach and kept us informed as needed of departure procedure, etc.

Private little haven

  • 4 of 5

This property is quaint, quiet and conveniently located near the beach, a very safe neighborhood. The home is nicely maintained and adequately furnished/supplied. I appreciated the stocked spice/cooking supply cupboard in the kitchen. We tend to eat in a lot when on vacation (due mostly to food allergies). Not having to go out to buy a lot of spices, oils, etc. made the cooking experience even better. The pool, while small, served our purposes just fine. Several bicycles are available to tour the area. We were hesitant to take them out since there were no helmets. A quick phone call to Joe...he supplied brand new helmets for us to use. He left them outside the front door next day! Many activities/attractions are nearby to break up the day. We visited the Navy Seal Museum. With teen boys, that was a hit. Local shopping made picking up necessities simple.

This was not our first visit to Vero Beach. Nor will it be our last. My preference is to be directly on the beach, which this house is not. is very close. I would highly recommend this property for a winter escape.

Vero Beach March 2016

  • 5 of 5

The Beachcomber bungalow is located on a beautiful residential street a short walk, past six homes, to the private beach access. The house is surrounded by tropical landscaping which enhances the private screened lanai and pool.

We touched base with Joe the day before arriving and he made sure the house was open, fresh and clean. The house shows pride of ownership and is attractively furnished. The well equipped kitchen and comfortable master king bed both deserve honourable mention. We enjoyed the pool and lanai as they truly are an extension of the house and living area.

The location is perfect for beach lovers as the beach seems to be endless in either direction with absolutely no crowds. My wife and I were very impressed with Vero Beach as it has a welcoming community atmosphere.

All in all a lovely home in a great location both well-appointed and well managed.

excellent house /perfect location

  • 5 of 5

The house was a nice size, and the design allowed for privacy and easy gathering. The kitchen and baths were well appointed, and not filled with castoffs as some rentals become. It was clean, and comfortable. The setting of the house was private with nice landscaping. It is located on a short, private, friendly street with easy beach access. The pool and pool area are also very nice.

The location provided easy access to all that Vero offers in the way of shopping, movie theater for rainy days and great variety of dining. It also has a nice theater, and art museum near by. We like Vero as a destination as it has the feel of a nice small residential city. Its location makes it easy to go to other Florida attractions both south , north and west; as Palm Beach, Orlando, and the Space Complex are all close by.

Joe our contact could not have been more helpful with any request, or small problem that came up.

Wonderful Place for a Family Get Together

  • 5 of 5

This beautiful home was perfect for our family to have a terrific visit. It is situated in a neighborhood, but with the surrounding foliage, it seemed private and peaceful. It is a short walk down the street to a wooden stairway leading to the scenic beach. The pool area was furnished with comfortable furniture for eating or just relaxing. The interior of the home is decorated beautifully and is very comfortable. The Vero Beach area offers so many fine restaurants (our faves are Lemon Tree and Ocean Grill) and interesting shops. The property manager, Joe, was very helpful. There were fresh flowers to greet us upon our arrival and when our refrigerator did not dispense drinking water, he brought us a case of bottled water. Ample towels and bedding were provided. I would definitely recommend this property to anyone wanting a pleasant and scenic stay in Vero Beach.
