The house has one bedroom and one bathroom with queen size bed, an airy living room with pull-out sofa (the second bed), dining area and full kitchen.

A separate cottage is a garage space with washer, dryer and beach items (towels, wetsuits, chairs, picnic basket, etc).

1 full/queen size pullout sofa in living room

We do have a Pack N Play crib as well as an air mattress on hand and can accommodate up to 5 people if 1 or more are children. Off-street parking for two cars is available within the property (although we often like to park directly across the street and leave the garden open).

Conveniently located from Sausalito and Marin, Stinson Beach is a great starting off point for exploring spots like Muir Woods, Mt Tamalpais, Bolinas, Point Reyes, Tomales Bay, Muir Beach and much more.

Why Tanya Naouri chose The Bay Area

With its sandy shores and the backdrop of Mt Tamalpais, we love the unique beauty and local flavor of Stinson Beach. It's the perfect getaway for international travelers and local Bay Area dwellers alike.

What makes this house unique

With its enclosed bricked English style garden, the Stinson Beach House feels like your own private oasis, while still remaining close to the beach and town. We've infused the original Craftsman charm of the house with modern nautical decor.

Guestbook comments from the owner

A beautiful place to stay, clean and well presented. The location is fabulous, with the beach just a couple of minutes walk away and access to a couple of mountain trails within 10 minutes walk. Great place to stay which we hope to return to.

Perfect beach getaway

  • 5 of 5

Our family of four adored this lovely, cozy, chic, and well-appointed cottage. It's a gem that is a three-minute walk from the beach, and we did NOT want to leave.

Cute one bedroom, great location--just a minute walk to the beach. And a super comfy bed. And we had beautiful, sunny weather!!! We even saw a huge whale breach right off the beach!

Truly charming place to stay

  • 5 of 5

This home was perfect for our family's adventure to the Muir Woods/Beach area! Just a short walk, and we were on the beach. My husband and I like to collect sea glass, which we found several pieces of, along with sand dollars. When we booked this home, we were concerned that our family of 4 would be super cramped, based on the square footage, but that was not the case at all. With the outdoor spaces available, we had plenty of room. Having access to a washer/dryer were important on a 2 week trip, so it was nice to have that. Wi-Fi and AppleTV were great bonus! If your family is like ours and try to eat at home as much as possible, I strongly suggest hitting Petaluma or other nearby city for groceries before arrival in Stinson Beach! When we were in Stinson Beach, Highway 1 was closed to the south, so be aware there is a detour. The detour is winding, curvy road which offers pull-outs which the locals will prefer you use! But some of the scenery on that road is worth taking your time to view! Overall, great home to stay in!!

Super cute - great for a small family!

  • 4 of 5

Everything was great - loved that you can pull your small car right into the driveway and close the gate, love the wood burning stove and the two wall heaters (which kept the house nice and cozy even in cold, rainy November), and the decor and kitchen are great. Only thing that needs updating is the pullout couch! It's not very comfortable - my husband and I slept on it the first night and put our children in the bedroom but one side slopes and it made for not a great night of sleeping! The second night we all bunked together in the bedroom and put one child on a small mattress on the floor that we brought with us. If the owner could replace the foldout couch this place would easily garner a 5-star rating. Beautiful, well-tended gardens including roses and mint surround the cottage as a nice bonus. Even though we had a lot of rain we thoroughly enjoyed the beautiful light this house gets while we stayed cozily in for a couple days of relaxation.

I liked the location but the house had many issues.

  • 2 of 5

Upon arrival we parked in the sandy parking space that was advised. No problem, but I figured that at least the parking spot would be on the same side of the road as the house. was across the main street which wasn't heavy with traffic but more than a quiet street would have. We arrived after dark and the front was pretty dark and hard to see. On first view the house was pretty clean and cute. The bedroom was nice. When we tried to turn on lights, many of the switches throughout the house did not work. As soon as I went to throw away the garbage I was carrying I noticed that the garbage in the house was completely full and even worse...the top item was a used and dirty diaper. the first 5 minutes there I had to take out the garbage. Next I headed to the bathroom to wash my hands and a black hair in the sink. Not nice to find that either...which makes one wonder what else has not been cleaned in the house. The bathroom was in need of care and updating especially because no water would even go down the sink. It sat for a minimum of 30 minutes each time we used the sink for any reason. When we moved the coffee table to set up the bed for my daughter to sleep on, we noticed that the rug underneath had many stains and was in need of some cleaning. After going out to dinner, we came back for a nice quiet night...we turned on the TV and nothing. It did not work. My husband worked on it for at least 30 minutes and nothing. Overall, the house was in very mediocre shape. We found cobwebs in various places and it just wasn't kept up like my other VRBO experiences. I have stayed throughout the world with VRBO and other similar companies and this is the first time I have had these kind of issues. Also, extremely upsetting because the house was extremely small and not very clean was the extremely high charge for cleaning. If the people before me were charged so much, why wasn't the house impeccable?

Owner's Response: We take our visitors' satisfaction and feedback very seriously, and we try to represent our home to the best of our ability. I would definitely encourage prospective visitors to read our other reviews, which are overwhelmingly positive. It's a shame that this guest wrote such a negative review so long after their stay without contacting us directly regarding their concerns. This is an original Craftsman Cottage built in 1938 and the size of the main house is clearly noted in the description. Our cleaning crew very diligent but I forwarded them this guest's feedback. We do try and keep the cleaning fee as low as possible (we actually lose money on cleaning).

Sweet cozy home! Was very comfortable amount of space for me, my husband, and two little boys.

  • 5 of 5

We were just a short walk to the beach, in an area where the beach isn't that crowded even on a sunny day. I think because it is a ways down the beach on the residential side. We saw dolphins our first day and seals every day. Apparently there are humpback whales passing by, too!

The house is very clean and comfortable. The walk to downtown Stinson is quick via the beach. The owner is very nice and accommodating. Will definitely be back for another little getaway!!! Love this place!
