About Brian Boruff

Long distance owners with large family.

Brian Boruff purchased this lodge in 2014

Why Brian Boruff chose Tennessee

We chose this lodge because it fit our large family and we love to get to the mountains for a getaway. We hope you enjoy the experience as much as we do.

What makes this lodge unique

We have lots of children and they all love to gravitate to the game room. We also enjoy sitting on the deck and soaking up the sunshine and views. It is close to shopping and dining but so serene and tranquil.

Guestbook comments from the owner

As long distance owners, we rely on and value the opinion of our guests. We/they felt that our old cleaning and maintenance company was not performing adequately and not properly caring for our home and guests. We have hired a new cleaning and maintenance company! They come to us with over 25 years experience in guest services and are highly recommended by local rental companies and other VRBO owners as well. We are very excited to have this new company come on board with us and look forward to working with them. Please come and enjoy the mountains and stay with us!

Cabin Fever Review

  • 4 of 5

The pictures of the cabin was not disappointing. The cabin was in great condition and the view was magnificent. We saw two small black bears which was a plus for my group. Our only disappointment was the cable services was not working (which is not a guarantee) however the on call person was on vacation and distracted from assisting us. I would definitely recommended this cabin just have alternatives for entertainment just in case the cable and internet services are not available.

Cabin Fever is a fantastic beautifully laid out large house with incredible views

  • 5 of 5

Cabin Fever is astounding and was great for our reunion of long-time friends. We had five couples and each had their own king bedroom and bath. There were two more bedrooms available that would be great for multiple kids. The common areas of the cabin are large and were wonderful when we were all together whether dining, watching TV, or just reminiscing. Two very large wrap around balconies provided astounding views of the Smokies and the lower one has a large hot tub. The owners were responsive to any questions. We would certainly recommend Cabin Fever.

Amazing views!!

  • 5 of 5

Our family of 18 ranging in age from 9 to 78 spent a week at Cabin Fever. We loved every minute of our time there, starting with the trip up the mountain to get to the cabin. Crazy!! There was plenty of room to spread out so we never felt like we were on top of each other. There were lots of chairs on the decks that got constant use. The views are SPECTACULAR!! The large eat in kitchen for all 17 of us had everything we needed to cook our meals - and we cooked a lot! The bedrooms were great - very comfortable. Plenty of comfy seating throughout the cabin.

The customer service from Tim, Patty and Francis was stellar. At our first breakfast we realized that only half the toaster worked. We had a new toaster 30 minutes after I sent the text requesting a new one. After the first couple of meals we realized the dishwasher was not really doing the job. A new dishwasher was installed the next afternoon.

The only things we would have really liked were access to gas grills instead of charcoal and better internet. NOTE: access to the internet is certainly an issue all over the area, not just at Cabin Fever. Don't count on streaming anything or having access if you need it for work. Access comes and goes with no rhyme or reason to it. One in our party had to go down the mountain to the first McDonald's on the road to Gatlinburg daily in order to get the access she needed for sending and receiving large files needed. Forget Starbucks downtown- their internet didn't work any better.

You will love it!! Worth the money.

Family Getaway at Cabin Fever

  • 5 of 5

Our family of 17 adults and children had a wonderful time at Cabin Fever. We found the cabin clean and comfortable upon our arrival. The kitchen was fairly well stocked with equipment to prepare our meals. The kids loved the game room and we ALL loved to sit on the balcony and take in the breathtaking view of the Smokies. We had a couple issues while we were there, but the owner was quick to react and take care of the problem. The dishwasher was not working properly but I understand it has been replaced already. Our only real complaint we had was that the mattresses were very noisy and when one person changed their position during the night the others in the room would be awakened. All in all it was a great vacation for our family and the cabin was perfect for our crew!

This property is amazing.

  • 5 of 5

We had a family reunion for 6 night and everyone had a great time. This property is everything they say it is and more. I had not been in the Smokey Mtn. since I was a kid and it is great. The only complaint I would have is the WIFI. They use AT&T and it never worked for the 6 days. The property Mgr. was great and she did report it out but never did work. Overall I would say this place is great and I would go back. There is a lot to do in this area.

Great place for large families of any age

  • 5 of 5

Our family of 10 adults and 12 children ages 3 - 12 had a great time at Cabin Fever. We do a family vacation together every year so have stayed in many vacation homes. This home is one of the best to accommodate a large group...plenty of dining seats, kitchen supplies, bedrooms with a bath for each bedroom and all very clean. The kids loved the bunk rooms to enjoy cousin sleepovers every night. The downstairs is filled with activities for the kids (and adults) and the hot tub was large enough for our 10 adults. The decks both lower and upper are huge with a view you just can't get enough of and plenty of comfy rockers and chairs for all. There is a community pool which is only a couple minute drive down the mountain that the kids had a great time in .. very clean.

We had a problem with the lock on front door and Patty and her husband were there within a half hour to take care of it...very attentive.

The first time driving up the mountain to the cabin was an adventure but just follow the directions from Frances .. you will get there.

While in Gatlinburg, our group did Rafting in the Smokies (which had a family float for those that are too young for the higher whitewater levels); did horseback riding; and several hiking trips including Laurel Falls; and many trips to downtown Gatlinburg and Pigeon Forge. We would highly recommend this property.
