We rented this beautiful villa for 1 week in December. We were 8 adults and 1 toddler. We have holidayed around the world in a variety of styles...and this holiday was our favourite hands down.
The villa is exactly as pictured. Huge, comfortable, private...fabulous beyond words outdoor space. Fantastic location...the beach is stunning and very quiet, with only the occasional person walking by. We lived by the pool and covered porch, and played in the huge yard. Our grandchild loved the sand and the waves. We stocked up in nearby Progreso and did all our own cooking. The kitchen is huge and well equipped, though it is perhaps not as clean as we in US or Canada might be used to. Also, there seemed to be an issue in the kitchen only...the water was never hot, but room temperature. There was an external bottled water tank which allowed us cold and hot water, but the lack of really hot water to wash dishes was a minor drawback. The kitchen could use a bit of an update...but it did not bother us and we cooked up a storm quite happily.
The bedrooms and washrooms are awesome.
The entire facility is geared to indoor and outdoor living, which is fabulous..but one has to be prepared for the interaction with nature.
In addition the couple that live on the property and maintain the place were absolutely lovely and incredibly helpful. One would need some spanish however as their English skills are minimal to basic. Not a problem for us..might be for others.
One added plus, for us...we felt we were in authentic Mexico, unlike touristy Cancun...yet the town of Progreso was large enough for us to find everything we needed to enjoy our week. Absolutely recommend this place. Owner goes out of the way to be helpful.
