WHAT TO EXPECT: This light-filled, lower-ground floor apartment with private gated entrance is part of a listed historic building that sits opposite the private garden of Eccleston Square. Known for its diverse collection of rare and tender plants, this garden square surpasses most in London, including the one featured in the popular movie 'Notting Hill'. Everything needed for day-to-day living . . . cafes, pubs, restaurants, supermarkets, convenience stores, green markets, bakeries, health food shops, pharmacies, dry cleaners, and international newsstands . . . are all within a 2-10 minute walk.

PROPERTY DESCRIPTION: Greenhaven is newly refurbished by European architectural & design firms, air-conditioned/centrally heated and fully-furnished with a mix of contemporary and antique décor. By London standards it's very large (600 square feet) and includes living room/dining room area, galley kitchen, bedroom and bath. The apartment is designed with the idea of bringing the look and feel of the garden inside with a calm natural palette sparked by carefully placed bursts of color. Sixteen foot high ceilings and large windows in the main living/dining area contribute to its very open, light and airy feel.

LIVING/DINING AREA: The main living/dining area has a table with seating for four, a comfortable king-size sleeper sofa and armchair with electronic back/shoulder massage unit that lets you unwind after a long day of touring. The furniture is set in front of non-working fireplace and a built-in wall unit/library with a large selection of books on London, as well as English history and culture. Atop of the decorative fireplace is a 42” Smart (Internet enabled) Samsung flat-panel HDTV with separate sound bar for enhanced listening pleasure. I have been offering luxury holiday accommodations since 1999, with properties in, Paris, and the South of France. London is my latest location. Residential design and decor is my passion, and I strive to provide dwelling places that are more expressive, more beautiful than other vacation rentals. I live part-time in all these places. So each functions as a 'home' -- not just a rental property. The hallmark of each residence is its personal style, which reflects its unique character and location. For example, my London apartment, which opens to the beautiful private gardens of Eccleston, is designed with the idea of bringing the look and feel of the garden inside with a calm natural palette sparked by carefully placed bursts of color. Quality furnishings, decor and a level of convenience, comfort and attention set my locations apart from those that are exclusively used as rentals. My philosophy is that I would never rent a property that I would not stay in myself. So, putting myself into my guests’ shoes, I 'think of everything' to make a stay a most positive and memorable experience. Why Paula Harvan chose Westminster & West End

I've lived in London for a few years, and I wanted to find a location that combined all of its best aspects at my doorstep: proximity to major sites, transportation, shopping, dining, culture and entertainment, but with a traditional London feel. Eccleston Square is it -- with an added bonus: the private garden that's only accessible to residents and their guests.

From the outside of Greenhaven, the view is a scaled-down version of New York's Central Park. You see the upper branches of trees, swirls of clematis, heady explosions of climbing roses and, here and there, the opposite side of Eccleston Square, London SW1 -- one of London's most posh addresses. When you get into the garden, you wouldn't know you’re in the heart of a world-renowned international city. When you smell the flowers and hear the birds sing, London seems to disappear -- yet all of its wonderful sights, sounds, tastes and experiences are right outside the garden gates.

Eccleston Square came about when town planner Thomas Cubitt, who developed it in 1845, had the idea of gathering everyone's back gardens together. Around the periphery, a shady walk takes you though arches of wisteria and clematis. For garden buffs, there are several unique specimen plants, including a handkerchief tree from China -- and art buffs will enjoy the irises, some of which came from Monet's garden in Giverny, France. The Garden Square has won many awards not only for its botanical beauty, but also for its well-integrated features, such as several brick patios, glass conservatory, tennis court, and play and BBQ areas.

Superb Location and the Best Hospitality

What a gem! This superb little flat is London living to the hilt--from the finely appointed decor to every amenity and courtesy that a tired traveller could want. And despite it being so close to Victoria Station, there was no hint of the hustle and bustle on this street.

I loved the convenience of a full kitchen with modern and super clean appliances. The bedroom was warm and cozy and quiet. I visited the garden. It was a delight to see families and individuals reading and escaping to the lawn area. It's a perfect space for meditation, offering plenty of locations if you wish to do a little private stretching and/or yoga. If you are a jogger you'll love the looping gravel path that runs the entire circumference just inside the fence.

Finally I wish to comment about the host and property owners--tops! The courtesy, hospitality and local knowledge offered were invaluable. I felt comfortable, safe and relaxed staying here.

Ideal flat for central London stay.

Fantastic location, just 5 minutes walk from Victoria station, underground and bus station. Also the express link to Gatwick airport is there. Local supermarkets, convenience stores, and restaurants all within a five minute walk in lovely Pimlico/Westminster. The shared central garden is a beautiful oasis of tranquility in the city, and is perfect for strolling , reading, or even tennis. All our arrangements were trouble free, with Ella being there to meet and orientate us a couple of hours earlier than usual check in. The Airport Transport shuttle was punctual and reliable.

The flat is very well equipped and many "extras" are included. Like free phone calls, a well-stocked kitchen and liquor cabinet, everything you need in a home-from-home. The flat is extremely quiet with no traffic noise and makes for undisturbed sleeping or napping. The stairs down to the entry door are steep and narrow, and care is required when getting suitcases down them, but we had no mishaps. Excellent and prompt email responses with Paula during all the preliminary business arrangements. I fully recommend this flat rental, and would be very keen to use it again on my next trip to London.

An ideal spot in Pimlico that won’t disappoint

We just returned from a superb week at Greenhaven!! Paula was very pleasant to interact with, and we liked the option of being able to pay with a US check. There were no surprises. Paula’s suggestion of the airport transfer made for a hassle-free arrival to the apartment from Heathrow. Ella, the property manager, met us and walked us through the ins and outs of the place. It was just as the pictures illustrated. Smartly decorated and well appointed, the flat came with everything one could possibly need. All the beds were extremely comfortable, the kitchen was well-equipped, the efficient layout of the apartment allowed us to have plenty of room, and our family of 5 (three children under 10) felt right at home. The kids loved having the private playground in the garden across the street. The neighborhood is a quiet residential area close to Victoria Station and a large Sainsbury, as well as plenty of family friendly restaurants (St. George’s Pub, Nando’s, Dim T), and the kitchen was well stocked with pots and pans and pantry items, making dinner at home an easy and relaxed option as well. Having things like aluminum foil, cling wrap, and handy box for picnic lunches made it easy to pack familiar foods for the kiddos for our on-the-go lunches around London. The location of the apartment was ideal. Pimlico is charming and access to transportation was at our fingertips. We felt extremely safe walking around in the evening, as well. The addition of the washer and dryer (and a stocked laundry closet with soap and dryer sheets), allowed us pack less and go home with few dirty clothes. In addition, Greenhaven has every tour book you could imagine about London. We enjoyed using these to augment our sightseeing plans for the week, as well as refreshing our memories of each day’s tours. We might have used them to plan our next trip, too! Our stay at Greenhaven convinced my husband and I that renting an apartment with a family is an ideal way to travel. We loved experiencing what is like to live in London for a week. We hope we have the chance to return, and in the meantime, we highly recommend this flat. You will not be disappointed!

The absolute best place to stay in Londin!

My family of four enjoyed an absolutely perfect stay here in Greenhaven in February! This was the first place I found on HomeAway, and the reviews were so good that I looked no further. And for you, I recommend the same! If this place is available during your desired travel dates, do not hesitate to make a booking! The location is absolutely perfect!! The apartment is beautiful, spotlessly clean, and it has every single thing you would need! Plus, if you are traveling with children, there is a lovely and spacious park directly across the street complete with a playground and lots of room to run around! The owner and staff are extremely professional and took care of all of our need. We even used the car service that they recommended. It is very affordable and made our arrival and departure completely effortless. Simply, I cannot say enough good things about this rental! By all means, book it immediately and Enjoy!!!

Fantastic Week!

We had an amazing week in London made better by our stay at Greenhaven. This apartment was a perfect little gem to return to after the busy days walking and riding around London to see the sites. One of the best parts about the apartment is its location. The street is quiet and across from a beautiful park which was welcomed after the loud noises of the city and Tube. The Victoria station is a short walk away as is the Sainsbury Grocery which made food preparation in the apartment very easy. The apartment itself was warm and cozy and for 3 adults it was plenty of room to relax and refuel. The kitchen was fully stocked with everything needed to prepare a meal in addition to a lovely assortment of coffees, teas, liquor and beer which we enjoyed immensely. The bedding was luxurious and the temperature in the apartment remained comfortable with a well functioning thermostat. The Bathroom was clean and up to date with an excellent shower. We took advantage of the washer and dryer during the stay and although the units are small did a good job on the clothes. The Wifi functioned flawlessly and as did the very nice flat screen T.V. We will stay at Greenhaven again.

This apartment has everything!

I can't say enough positive things about Greenhaven. It seemed that every time I wished for something, I'd turn around and it was there (a bandaid, some scotch tape, a sewing kit, a gin and tonic!). The bed was Heaven and the wifi worked perfectly. It was hard to leave the apartment... but when we did, we found all of London at our fingertips. Just a couple of minutes from Victoria's trains, tubes, and the nearby coach station... we felt we had access to everything. Lots of great little neighborhood eateries available by foot. Can't wait to go back!
