Updated, 1 Bedroom plus loft, sleeps four, Private Patio, Walk to Caltech, PCC
Welcome to The Bungalow Pasadena. Make yourself at home in this comfortable, designated historic, 1922 bungalow.
Enjoy the convenient location and all the amenities and charm The Bungalow has to offer, including a remodeled kitchen and bathroom; secluded, shaded private patio with sitting area, a striking colorful bougainvillea, washer and dryer, and gas grill; beautiful landscaping with several fruit trees and a herb and butterfly garden; a cozy fireplace, Smart TV (no cable) and high bandwidth connectivity.
The bedroom offers a comfortable queen bed, closet and dresser space.
The sleeping loft is accessible via a ladder only, off the main living room, which has two comfortable twin beds. It's like sleeping in a treehouse, and offers a bit of privacy.
The bathroom has been remodeled and includes a stand up shower, vanity and plenty of shelf space.
The Bungalow is within easy walking distance to Pasadena City College (PCC), Colorado Boulevard for the Rose Parade, shopping and restaurants, beautiful Green Street and the California Institute of Technology (Caltech) to name but a few. Several local eateries and coffee shops are only minutes away by foot.
Within a mile or two are the many wonderful sights and attractions Pasadena’s unique districts offer, including: Old Town, South Lake, Paseo Colorado and the Playhouse District; the world famous Huntington Library and Gardens; the Gold Line metro which can take you to downtown Los Angeles and Union Station; and the world class Norton Simon Museum. Likewise, many restaurants, live entertainment venues, the Rose Bowl, and cultural attractions, are just minutes away by car, foot, or public transportation. It is freeway friendly, yet quiet and secluded.
Parking is available on-street only and with an overnight permit. Parking is $3/night. Please see my parking information sheet.
The Bungalow Pasadena offers a wonderful, comfortable, charming and convenient place to stay in Pasadena. It's likely you'll not want to leave!
UPDATE: UPDATE: The City of Pasadena will start collecting Transitory Tax on May 1, 2018. Additionally, the City wants to put restrictions on the Bungalow, and allow for long-term rentals only.
Unfortunately, I may have to comply with these rules, so if you are at all thinking of coming to Pasadena, and want to support keeping the Bungalow going, book now.
By filling up now it would show demand and therefore, tax revenue coming in. This could help allow the Bungalow to continue as a short-term rental. It's been a slow process of trying to shut down short-term rentals, but the time may be coming. Please let me know if you have any questions. Thank you.

About Bonnie at the Bungalow
My husband, Kent, and I have lived in Pasadena since 1991. We love and enjoy this area with it's natural beauty, magnificent architecture, cultural events, wonderful neighborhoods, and so many things to do and see. Although living here for over 20 years we are still surprised by the treasures we find. Kent works as an optical engineer at the Jet Propulsion Laboratory and I home-school our two children in this vibrant and creative community. I'm here to answer any of your questions about the area and/or The Bungalow.
Why Bonnie at the Bungalow chose Pasadena

Wonderful get away!!
Cute, clean, great location! Enjoyed our stay!! Parking a bit tight, but a great place!!
What a pleasant surprise the bungalow turned out to be. Our gracious host took care of all our needs from providing us with towels to wine glasses. However the most impressive feature provided was the guest book. It was a meticulous resource, that actually had a map of the best parking locations as well as sites to visit and places to eat. As for our accommodations, better than any five star hotel. Tell me what hotel provides a fireplace for those cozy evenings and a back patio for your morning cup of Joe.
If your still not sure whether you should rent this place let me help you. Go ahead rent and enjoy it like we did.
Great stay at The Bungalow
Our family of 4 (2 adults and 2 kids) had a wonderful stay at the Bungalow. Our kids loved the loft. You can't beat the location, price, and amenities. It was warm so having A/C was great! Starbucks was literally behind the property. The neighborhood was quiet (minus the occasional barking of the dog next door) and safe. Bonnie was a great host and provided very detailed directions about parking and property info. We look forward to staying there again!
The bungalow is very comfortable and conveniently located.
We had a great time and couldn't have been more comfortable with two teenagers and two adults. Bonnie was helpful and communicative. The beds were very comfortable and the kitchen well stocked with all necessary cooking equipment.
The bungalow is fantastic!
We loved staying in the bungalow!!! The basics were provided so we didn’t have to run out and get salt, pepper, coffee, butter, etc., etc..
It was the perfect size for my husband & me, but would be a great place to stay for a family!
Kids would love the loft!
The owner is amazing!! She is beyond, prompt, helpful and accommodating!! She really does ROCK and wants your visit to be Pasadena perfect!!
A great little Bungalow
The bungalow was convenient to highways and transportation. It was block away from the Metro for a 12 minute ride to the Pasadena Convention Center. The neighborhood was nice and walkable. And the house was amazing. It was a very comfortable stay. Patio in back was private and beautiful. The kitchen was super and we were so glad to find a few coooking amenities like coffee, spices and basics that made cooking a breeze. Overall the house was really cute, super clean, comfortable and the bungalow made out trip very memorable. I would highly recommend!
