Great location, very clean.
Our stay was wonderful. The townhouse is centrally located, close to great pubs and restaurants, with The Oxymoron and Three Stags (Sunday roast) particularly standing out. And, with bus lines just a stones throw away, and an oyster card in hand, it was easy to make our way around London. I would easily recommend a stay here.
Great house in very central location
The house was very clean and well kitted out with modern furniture and equipment. The location was incredibly central with rail stations nearby or central London is also a walkable distance. The house is situated on a very quiet road with ample parking for 3 cars.
The owner was very accommodating and was keen to make our stay enjoyable.
Would definitely recommend.
Great Location close to the Tube
House was very conveniently located. Short walk to the Tube which will get you anywhere. House was clean and comfortable. There were eight adults which made the living space a little small but we were out and about almost constantly so it did not create a problem. Bedrooms were very functional and bathrooms were nice and newly renovated.
Perfect location, great accommodation for extended family of 8 people and three generations
This was the perfect accommodation for our family, including a 15 year old grandson. Shops, pubs, buses are all within walking distance. It was so easy to get to all the sites that were on our lists such as Parliament, the London Eye, the Tower of London and even Abbey Road. I would definitely stay here again and recommend it to family and friends.
Good location - in need of a bit of care.
The first impression was that it looked a little worn. The sofa covers looked grubby and there were several scuff marks on the walls. The beds on the top floor rear were not very comfortable and need replacing with better ones. The kitchen was well equipped and some nice touches like tea and coffee provided and flowers on the table.
The location is very good for access on foot to the Thames and Westminster and there are bus and train stations really close by.
During our stay though we had an unfortunate problem with a leakage from a pipe leading from the bath tub which caused water to come through the ceiling to the bedroom below. This happened in the evening but the landlord responded quickly and three people arrived to fix the bedroom, replacing the mattress and bedding so the bedroom could be used again. We also received adequate compensation but it was a shame it happened. We were left with the use of one bathroom for the rest of the stay.
I don't want to sound too harsh as this property COULD be really lovely. It is not far off but needs to be looked after.
All correspondence with the landlord before and during the stay was quick and clear and lots of information provided.
Great location easy access to the train stations and within walking distance of the Thames and local attractions. The beds were very comfortable and the 2.5 bathrooms were perfect for the six adults living in the residence. The owner was responsive to any questions or concerns we had during our stay. I rated 4/5 because we only had one set of keys to the flat which limited my guests ability to separate and explore without the need to coordinate our arrivals back at the residence and the living room couch is a little worn. Otherwise a great value.
Thank you for the review. There had always need a key lockbox that guests have a code and access to this allowing guests to seperate and enter the house as they need to and all guests collect keys from here intitially so are aware of it. The couch has been shampoo’d and steam cleaned since this review and looks good now.
The location is central enough to be close to all that you want to do and see in London, and yet offers fantastic value-for-money. Many of London's top attractions are less than 10 minutes drive away, some of which are just a short walk away! London Eye Trafalgar Square National Gallery Buckingham Palace Westminster Abbey Big Ben Houses of Parliament Shakespeare's Globe Theatre National Theatre Tate Modern Royal Festival Hall SEA LIFE London Aquarium Southbank Centre The Old Vic Theatre The Young Vic Theatre OXO Tower riverside restaurant Imperial War Museum BFI IMAX Cinema Ministry of Sound Oval Cricket Ground The rest of central London's major attractions are no more than 30 minutes away by public transport: the shopper's paradise of Oxford Street, Regent Street and Kings Road, the great shows, restaurants and bars of the West End, and icons such as the British Museum and Madame Tussauds. For quick groceries shopping, there is a Tesco Express store just 8 minutes walk away. For bigger requirements, there is the Tesco Superstore just 13 minutes walk away. Waterloo Station is 15 minutes walk, providing access to the Northern, Jubilee and Bakerloo Lines, National Rail and Riverboat services. Waterloo provides excellent connectivity to anywhere in London and the South East of England. Lambeth North tube station (Bakerloo Line) is 9 minutes walk but it is closed until Feb 2017. I am happy to offer a rebate on one cab shuttle ride to the Waterloo station per day due to this, most guests have not found this closure to a problem because there are such good transport links in general. Plenty of buses cover this area too. Several bus-stops within three minutes walking distance connect you to Oxford Street and other central locations in 15 minutes. Heathrow Airport is 45 minutes drive away. I can suggest some taxi options for you. A 5-seater 'people carrier' taxi will cost ~£50; and a 8-seater minibus will cost ~£65. By public transport, the fast and expensive option is Heathrow Express train to Paddington station and then Bakerloo line tube to Charing Cross (Lambeth North station s closed until Feb 2017) then the very regular bus number 3 which drops you very close to the house - a three minute walk. The slower and cheaper option is Piccadilly line tube to Piccadilly station and then taxi or Number 3 bus to the house. Gatwick Airport is 65 minutes drive to the house. I can suggest some taxi options for you. A 5-seater 'people carrier' taxi will cost ~£75; and a 8-seater minibus will cost ~£90. There is an easyBus shuttle service to Waterloo station and then it is a 5-minute taxi ride or 15-minute walk to the house. By public transport, the fast and expensive option is Gatwick Express train to Victoria station (£31 per adult return) and then take a 10-minute taxi ride to the house. The slower and cheaper option is to take a Southern Trains service to Victoria station (£10 per adult single), and then a taxi or bus to the house. Stansted Airport is 75 minutes drive to the house. I can suggest some taxi options for you. A 5-seater 'people carrier' taxi will cost ~£70; and a 8-seater minibus will cost ~£110. By coach, there is an easyBus service to Old Street station and then it is a 20-30 minute taxi ride or 344 bus to the house. By train, the Stansted Express takes 50 minutes to Liverpool Street station (£16 to £32 per adult return) and then a 15-20 minute taxi ride or 344 bus to the house. St Pancras International Eurostar Terminal is 20 minutes drive to the house or the number 59 bus goes direct to the house in 40 minutes.
