Great place with comfortable space. Great for a large group. In a perfect location not too far from Salt Lake and within driving distance of many of the most popular ski resorts. Lots of great shopping and restaurants near by. Would definitely stay again.
We had three generations together, and enjoyed the layout, space, comfortable beds, laundry, stocked kitchen, garage, everything about the house. Thanks for having the Pack N Play ready for arrival of the tired baby, and for welcoming our dog.
Winter in Sandy is certainly not the prettiest, but access to the mountains, downtown, and airport was easy.
Very comfortable house. We had 2 couples and 2 kids and were left with an extra, unused bedroom. Owners were in touch before we arrived and extremely responsive to suggestions or requests. This home is close to all the amenities we needed during our stay.
Great location about 33 mins from Solitude/Brighton and 24 mins from Alta/Snowbird. Shopping/restaurants/grocery/ski shops all within a few minutes drive. But at this home, location is only a small part of why you will have a wonderful stay. 3 level floor plan is perfect for groups with different agendas apres ski, as bedrooms are very well separated for quiet, even when others in your group are watching a movie for kids, teens/adults are playing pool in basement den (and watching a separate movie or sports game) -- and fully finished basement has its own pull out sofa, separate basement bathroom, and separate bedroom (with comfy Queen bed). Dad could catch up on work at convenient well lit office with 2 desks and copier/printer/fax. At the same time, dishes are getting cleaned in the dishwasher, clothes drying in the dryer, somebody adjusting their snowboard bindings in the large garage, and a someone sleeping peacefully in one of three bedrooms upstairs. All this activity, while the house projected a sense of peace and calm! We had a great time here, perfect for making new family memories. We never used the large dining room (seating in kitchen for 8), but its stately presence helped anchor the sense of calm and competence of this home.
The skiing in LCC and BCC was amazing. I don't even want to mention the lack of lift lines (compared to Tahoe resorts) for fear of giving up a valuable secret. Even so, this home was so comfortable that we looked forward to enjoying home as much as we enjoyed the skiing.
The home has a warm mocha color scheme, thoughtfully appointed with interesting books, magazines and games. For our stay, it was decorated in holiday themes that were tasteful, unexpected and charming. There was a fully lit tree in the family room. I loved it!
The home had a wonderful array of kitchen utensils, power cords, all kinds of convenient things, in practical locations tucked away in drawers throughout the home. I found just about everything I managed to need for the week already there! Marianne and her husband, the owner/managers, have been very thoughtful in keeping the home well appointed. Marianne was immediately available every time I called, and she responded promptly with any little concerns that came up. She even came to blow snow off the front drive unannounced one day. If you have a larger family or group, or even two or three families, this is a heavenly spot from which to enjoy the Wasatch resorts.
This home was absolutely beautiful. It was everything I expected and more. Our family was able to cook and enjoy all the amenities. We hardly ever left the home because it was so cozy. I would highly recommend this home for those who want to ski locally. The local shopping center is less than a mile away with Starbucks and all kinds of restaurants around the corner.
Pros: very spacious home in very nice neighborhood. We felt very safe and comfortable in this part of town. Extremely close to shopping, restaurants, etc. TVs in every room, secluded back yard, great access to I-215, can get anywhere in SLC very quickly from this location. Owner is responsive to needs and
Cons: It is a multi-level home and the upstairs, where 3 of the 4 bedrooms are located, becomes extremely hot. Uncomfortable to sleep in regardless of temp set on AC because thermostat is on lower level and only one AC unit for a large home. The basement and middle floor stay cool, but again most of the bedrooms are upstairs. We spoke with the owner about this and she was kind enough to bring fans to the home, unfortunately it was still too hot. I slept on the couch in the middle floor. If you don't mind really warm temperatures to sleep in then you will be fine.
The home was not cleaned entirely when we arrived. Downstairs bathroom had large clumps of hair in the shower and mold on tile. There was an opened unused tampax in the toothbrush holder, strange! Dishwasher was full of most of the dishes when we arrived as if they had been washed but not put away.
Not the most kid friendly home, as the home has glass china cabinets with glassware, and little breakable trinkets on most side tables, etc. The surround sound advertised for the basement theater doesn't work. The Bose speakers are there but the tuner/amplifier is gone from the unit. That wasn't such a big deal since we were out a lot but should not be advertised as home with theater because it isn't currently.
Overall: could be a great property but needs the above issues resolved especially if staying in the summer time.
