Unique Needs Well Met

I rented this apartment at the Ascent at Spring Hill to be near a family wedding in McLean. I was hosting three international guests who flew in and out of Dulles Airport. The highlights for me (and them, too) were 24-hour access to the Penthouse fitness room (a great place to watch the sun rise over the DC area), and a full kitchen where my gusets could prepare a full Korean breakfast to get their days off to a good start. Having indoor parking close to the elevator was another blessing for one disabled guest, along with very cordial staff who welcomed us at all hours. I would add more dishes in the kitchen so there are enough to run a full dishwasher load. You may want to bring specialty kitchen items, such as a blender or sharp knives. In the end, we relied on fresh air for ventilation rather than the HVAC system (despite the noise from the traffic and METRO trains below). Tysons Corners has many advantages (great shopping, access to several key highways, etc.) but be careful not to try to navigate it by car at the height of rush hour. It's best to stay still between 7:30 and 9 a.m. and 4-6 p.m. In short, despite the cost, I feel that this rental was well worth every dollar for our unique needs.
