Beautiful home in a lovely private setting!

  • 5 of 5

My family and I enjoyed every minute of our stay at Kissick Point. The house is comfortable and beautifully appointed with plenty of room for even a big family of seven! We enjoyed our daily visits to Acadia, local attractions and restaurants in Ellsworth, Trenton and Bar Harbor, only within a short drive from the house. Daria and Scott have thought of everything to make their guests feel welcome and at home. Thank you for being so accommodating and responsive! Our Maine vacation has been awesome! Regards, Mireya and family

WOW! This house was just incredible and just what we needed!

  • 5 of 5

This property was Just what was needed! From signing the contract, to texting Daria we were walking out the door, everything in the middle was perfect!! The house is exactly as it looks in the pictures, but to see it in person, it was so much better. The property is right at the end of the point, secluded, private, and quiet! We enjoyed just hanging out at the house walking the beach picking up shells, walking in the wooded area, and taking in the views. Coffee on the deck in the morning and a glass of wine or two on the deck in the evening. We saw seals swimming, ducks and a few eagles. The weather was actually perfect with a couple days of light rain but we didn't mind at all as the entire experience was very peaceful. The house is about 25-30 minutes from Bar Harbour and about 15 minutes from Acadia National Park. We loved Acadia and that is a definite must for your visit too!! We ended up bringing our one year old dog with us last minute and that was not an issue. I text Daria as soon as I knew we had to bring him and it was no problem! The dog was very well behaved and stayed in the fenced yard, which was an added plus when the dog wasn't supposed to be there in the first place! Anything we needed, it was there. I did text Daria the first night and she was very quick to respond but we had already figured out our issue. I posted many pictures during the week on Facebook and many people asked where we stayed because the pictures were just incredible! If you are looking for relaxation, this IS the place. When we checked out, I also let her know of some very minor things, just to inform her for the next guests and she was very receptive and pleased for the feedback. Over all this was an incredibly relaxing atmosphere and I can't wait to go back some day! Thank you Daria & Scott for sharing your home so others can enjoy it too!

Owner's Response: Debbie, Thank you for your positive and kind review! We truly appreciate your note and taking time to post here. Scott & I try our best to keep the home comfortable and relaxing and so glad you were able to do just that during your stay, and that the home had everything you needed. Glad everything worked out too with bringing your pet - we fenced the yard to allow for dogs and children to play. We hope to see you back again on your next trip to Maine. Sincerely, Daria & Scott

Lovely home with beautiful views, quiet and secluded. Great get-away.

  • 5 of 5

Comfortably furnished. Very nice master bedroom and bath. 4 bedrooms were all nice and had comfortable beds, but only 3 bathrooms, so 2nd upstairs bedroom occupants had to go downstairs for a bathroom.

Kitchen was especially well appointed. A lot of thought by owners went into providing kitchen items, extra towels, beach towels, etc. We enjoyed the deck during the day and evening, plus beachcoming at low tide. Water comes right up to the back yard at high tide.

Wished we could have had a working indoor fireplace for chilly nights. Only one small inconvenience - only one TV (in master bedroom) has cable. Other televisions all seem to require your own account/streaming - not that anyone needs TV in such a beautiful setting. However, our

group did want to watch the live news (debate) though - so all had to pile into the master bedroom.

This is a great location for visiting Acadia National Park, Bar Harbor and on one rainy day we headed to the Farnsworth Museum (about 65 miles away in Rockland) - where it was not raining.

Owner's Response: Mary, Thank you for your nice review - and we are glad to hear you liked the kitchen amenities and comfy bedrooms. We do try to keep things up to date and as comfortable as possible. But we are sorry to hear about the cable TV not working. We have cable connected to all the TV's, so something must have gone awry with the system, and we may have been able to figure out how to fix it over the phone if we had known. But glad it all worked out to watch the debate! Also, we are working on getting the gas fireplace up and running, and know this feature will be enjoyed by all especially in the cooler evenings. So that will be fixed and ready for use next season. Thank you again for your comments as they are very helpful for us. Have a wonderful rest of your year and hope you'll have the chance to visit us in Maine again. Sincerely, Scott & Daria

The best rental experience!

  • 5 of 5

Because of a death in the family, our vacation attendance was somewhat disjointed. That being said, those who were able to get to Kissick Point for even a few days were wholly satisfied and impressed with the property, which exceded expectations on all levels. The house was beautiful, very clean and well appointed - great mattresses (not always the case with seasonal rentals). The surroundings and outdoor space - unsurpassed in beauty and description by those able to attend. We want to visit your lovely, relaxing home again for the same week next year. Our thanks for a wonderful family reunion.

Beautiful location and excellent for a vacation with extended family

  • 5 of 5

The property is absolutely beautiful and the home is well suited for a large family. The first floor has a room with 2 twin beds and another room with a queen size bed (Perfect for elders in our family who could not comfortably do stairs)

The 2nd floor has the master with a king size bed and another bedroom with 2 queen size beds (perfect for the teenagers with you) while it may have been humid inland a bit at the house there were almost constant breezes.

Lastly the great room, with it's soaring ceiling and wall of windows, was perfect to watch movies in the evening.

We found we spent most of our time on the deck, enjoying the almost constant ocean breezes, and in the kitchen area where people can enjoy the view while dinner is cooking.

The kitchen is extremely well equipped and the laundry accessible on the 1st floor. We enjoyed ourselves so much we ate in every night -

There's a grocery store within a 5 minute drive and Acadia National Park is within a short drive as well as Bar Harbor. Lots of great hiking, sand beach is beautiful, and fresh water canoe fishing for my husband :)

A visit to Fort Knox, on the Penobscot river, was also a great day trip -

Very comfortable home and great Maine location. The family thought it wonderful!
