We had a great stay, logistics were easy and the property was beautiful. I would definitely come back to stay here!
A lovely private villa offering beachfront access and great facilities. Friendly and wonderful staff maintain the rooms and surroundings beautifully. A really great way to unwind and reboot!
We met Loic and Beatrice whilst half asleep at the airport in Cancun! They were delightful- both very friendly and helpful. Whilst we stayed at the property they were also there and were always on hand to answer any questions that we had.
When we arrived at Sirocco (one of the downstairs apartments) we were pleasantly surprised by everything. It was spacious and very well kitted out. We have 3 children (8,10 and 12 years old) and there was plenty of room for us.
The kitchen was well equipped and even had a liquidiser and juicer which was amazing for our fresh juices and smoothies.
The bedrooms were well air-conditioned and the beds were comfortable. The shower rooms (there are 2) were also spot on.
The balcony/covered area outside was nice and big and gave us great views of the pool and the bay. There was lots of good quality equipment to borrow; life jackets, kayaks and oars, fins, beach shoes... and lots of inflatable pool toys to keep the kids entertained for hours!
The bay itself was magical. The snorkelling was great and we saw many types of fish within the reef. It is a quiet bay that hasn't been overdeveloped.
In short we had a wonderful time and would like to thank Loic and Beatrice for making the second half of our Mexican adventure so amazing. It is a great property and the children are already missing Chile, the dog!
Best family vacation ever! Such a beautiful home, but as we found, the relaxation was unsurpassed.
We rented both bottom floor units and all family members(our teenage son included) were immediately taken with the impressive architecture and of course the natural beauty of the caribbean. Our first trip into the yucatan, we researched for many months. Upon arrival, Sombras del Viento exceeded our expectations. Cleanliness, comfort and a warm reception was the opening to a fabulous stay in paradise. After a few days of touring Tulum, we decided it was best to just embrace our little slice of heaven and spend our days lounging poolside and seaside at the most lovely home we have ever had the pleasure of staying in.
This villas beauty is rivaled only by the white sand beach and calm ocean which it seamlessly spills into. I absolutely enjoyed every moment of my stay. The comfort and hospitality were amazing. I hope that one day I will be lucky enough to visit once again with my friends in Soliman bay at Sombras del Viento!!!
It is Paradise on the beach. Beautifull appartment with large terrace. Excellent swimming pool with beach view. Cleaning every day by excellent Staff. Only exclusive villa's along Soliman Bay with beautifull gardens. Only 17 km to Tulum great beaches with a very relaxed atmosphere. No big hotels or other chains.
We really liked it.
At first we were hesitant to come to Mexico because it was the beginning of hurricane season and the forecasts showed thunderstorms most days we were there. We were glad we decided to come anyway. Though there was some rain, we still had good weather.
Booking with Loic (the owner) was very easy and he was helpful with directions and other questions we had prior to arrival.
The beach house was exactly what we were looking for. The area is peaceful and we were 10 min from town. Since we were the only ones staying there at the time, we had 2 pools and the private beach to ourselves. The place has kayaks and snorkel equipment for the guests to use. Alessandra and Miguel who stay on the property, clean the unit, the pools and take care of the grounds. They were very friendly. And we loved Chile the dog.
We stayed in the Bora unit which was perfect for us. It had a nice well equipped kitchen which we used every day. We barely ate out at the restaurants since we just cooked there. Our unit had a nice porch that stepped right out to the pools. We had AC in our unit though with the sea breeze, we never needed it. We just had the ceiling fans on for air flow.
If you want to come to Mexico to enjoy the sun, beach, pool, relaxation but avoid crowded touristy areas, I highly recommend this place. The drive to Soliman Bay was so easy...just one highway all the way down.

Soliman Bay is one of the most beautiful bays of the Riviera Maya.
Bordered by a white sandy beach and very protected by the coral reef, it is an idyllic location to relax, swim, ride in a kayak, diving to admire the colorful fishesand turtles or simply relax in a hammock.
Within a limited radius, you can enjoy all the attractions offered by this beautifull region: archeological sites (Tulum, Coba, Chichen Itza...), golf, diving spots, preserved natural sites (Sian Ka'an), parks (Xcaret, Xel Ha...) etc.
