A life-time of memories in a few days on the houseboat

  • 5 of 5

What a unique way to experience Boston. Cozy and comfortable in spite of the wind and rain outside, my visit to my sister was made especially memorable by our stay in this well-appointed houseboat. Because of the loft area, we were able to invite her grandchildren to join us for one of the nights. Great kitchen and exceptional shower. (You can't fall - the walls are too close to your body. The houseboat was close to places we wanted to visit and convenient to excellent restaurants. We'll never forget this Thanksgiving.

Wonderful views

Very cute and enjoyed drinking coffee on the deck and wine on the upper deck! Clean and stocked with all supplies. Very pleasant weekend. My only compliant was the airplanes going over head which didn't bother me but did bother my guest. Many fun memories. Thank you

Spotless,, tastefully decorated to add greatly to the restful atmosphere. Nice neighbors too.

Awesome, Quiet. Restful. Clean. Unique like nothing else. Unusual. Beautiful. Though we travel frequently and far, this experience was our best surprise ever. Deb was quick to answer any questions and she was helpful throughout. It was obvious she enjoys her guests. It was but a few minutes from downtown Boston on the metro, but once we arrived at the boat, the noise of Boston seemed a million miles away. We look forward to returning, and if you are considering renting, do it. You will be very, very glad you did.

A wonderful place to enjoy Boston and all it has to offer!

  • 5 of 5

This wonderful houseboat was a terrific place to hang our hats at the end of a day of enjoying Boston. Right from the start Deb was amazing. She is so easy to talk to and makes sure that everything is great for your stay. This is definitely the place to stay if you are visiting. Ample parking (free), wifi, coffee. Having our morning coffee on the decks watching the sun come up was a plus but having a glass of wine and experiencing the sunsets through the bridge was spectacular. We got to witness the bridge coming up and letting three boats through which we enjoyed. We drove ourselves into downtown for the day and found parking, but we hear the T was close by. All in all we had a terrific time and would highly recommend staying on the houseboat. Thank you Deb for another amazing trip to Boston.

Special place to stay while visiting Boston

  • 5 of 5

We loved the Blue Pearl, and it made our time in Boston really special. Loved watching the bridge in operation. Great having free parking, and the location worked well when we needed to drive. But also had easy access to public transportation. Owner responded very quickly to the couple minor questions we had while staying on the houseboat.

Property was as advertised and kids loved it.

  • 5 of 5

As a family of six our original intention of looking of VBRO for a place to stay in Boston was financially driven. Finding a houseboat was exciting as vacations with the kids tend to be more about making memories than relaxing. To be honest, many adults may prefer the amenities of staying walking distance to the sights and with room service, etc. But for family bonding and memory making the house boat was a win. The neighborhood where the marina is located is definitely an authentic working class neighborhood with a lot of diversity. The marina sits like a safe oasis in a busy area. I found the location to be a plus to the trip allowing my kids to get more of a feel of city life. Short driving distance from the marina we found some excellent pizza at Santarpio's where you enter a side door into the kitchen to put in a take out order. Highly recommend!

The houseboat itself was clean except for being able to tell that pets are allowed by some pet hair on the sofa. As far as needs go, the owner has thought of most everything. Deb is quick to respond if you have a question and attentive to your needs. I found the houseboat to be very comparable to being on a well stocked RV. The shower is very small like an RV but the ability to sit outside and enjoy the harbor was fantastic. Expect some jet noise but with a sound machine in the master bedroom it wasn't a big deal. Really didn't notice much movement with the boat.

We found Uber to be the best deal for getting back and forth to the sites. You can save enough on preparing breakfast and packing lunch to more than offset the fare of the UBER. The water taxi has a per person rate and was too expensive during the high season .

I recommend the Blue Pearl to anyone wanting to do something a little different while still enjoying the typical Boston sites. Thank you Deb and the Blue Pearl!
