OK IF YOU LIKE CAMPING

  • 2 of 5

I KNOW THAT THE WEATHER WAS COLD, HOWEVER I NEVER THOUGHT THAT ON VACATION I WOULD HAVE TO WORRY ABOUT LOSING POWER AND POWER RESETING ON DOCK. REMOVING ICE FROM LOWER DECK, VERY UNSAFE. REMOVING SNOW FROM NARROW WALK DECK UNSAFE FOR FAMILY. , HOUSEBOAT WAS DISORGANIZED, ie: ALL ITEMS IN CABNITES , ITEMS IN CLOSET. NO ITEMS SHOULD BE LEFT OUT IN LOFT AREA. USING ADDITIONAL HEATERS TRIPS BREAKERS. HADE TO REMOVE TRASH, TO DOCK AERA, THAT DUE TO HOLDAY, WERE FULL. HAD TO LEAVE WATER DRIPPING SO WOULD NOT FREEZE. FOR THE AMOUNT OF RENTAL COST WOULD NOT RECOMMAND DURING WINTER. IF ALL ITEMS WERE PLACED IN THE DESCRIPTION ON LINE I WOULD HAVE MADE DIFFERENT ARRRANGEMENTS

3 week stay in East Boston

  • 4 of 5

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay on the Blue Pearl. There was plenty of room for the two of us - much more than we anticipated. Despite the cold December temperatures we easily stayed warm. Deb and husband Jim were promptly responsive to any questions or needs we had. Yes, there are planes overhead but we quickly got used to them to the point where you hardly noticed them. Lots of interesting activity in the harbor, particularly as the draw bridge went up to let ships through. We'll look forward to a visit in the summer when we can have a relaxing glass of wine on the deck above to watch the sunset.

Perfect Hotel Alternative

  • 5 of 5

We loved the Blue Pearl. We are very familiar with Boston, but wanted something different on this stay and we got it. It's easy to find and a short Uber ride from everything. It sleeps four comfortably and it has all the amenities you could need. The beds are comfortable, you can easily heat the boat with the space heater (if needed) and the outdoor decks are perfect. Even though we're coastal people, we were a bit amazed at the difference between high and low tide. We arrived at low tide, headed out for a few hours and came back at high tide. It's a 15-foot difference! I like that the parking lot is set so far back from the street. There is a market, a gas station with a Honeydew Donuts a few blocks away. Also, we had an amazing brunch (Sunday) at The Chelsea Station. We've come to love Homeaway and have used it to stay in Fort Lauderdale, Los Angeles (Los Feliz), and Maine. We're using it to stay in Paris France next year. It's the only way to travel.

Perfect for our visit

  • 5 of 5

We loved our stay in the Blue Pearl. It was just as described and so much fun to return to the upper deck for drinks at the end of the day. We will certainly return and can hopefully stay longer next time.

Fun Stay for a Family!

  • 5 of 5

My family of 6 stayed for two nights. I wish it could've been longer. The kids loved the houseboat. It was very clean and fun. We were told to bring a flashlight if arriving at night, and you definitely need it, as the marina gets quite dark. We received a list of instructions before we arrived, so we were completely prepared. I would recommend a stay for a family. The houseboat is small, but quaint. Deb is a wonderful hostess.

Quiet, nice hang out spot

  • 5 of 5

Very easy to get in and out of. First time staying on a houseboat and our group had a blast! Deb was easy to communicate with and very helpful. Airport noise was not really noticeable at all. Most of the time you forgot you were even staying on the water! Highly recommend!
