My wife and 2 daughters ages 11 & 13 live in urban South Florida. We like to take nature vacations in cooler climates each summer. This year we chose Michigan and our first stop was this cabin perched on the banks of the Little Manistee River. We loved the secluded woodsy surroundings and enjoyed kayaking in the river. We spotted several deer. The location allowed easy access to Ludington State Park and Manistee for excellent hiking and beach days. It was nice returning to the cabin in the woods. A few items: Northern Michigan woods have insects, but in late July they were not bad. When you first drive up, your car may be swarmed with flies. However, just turn off the car and wait a couple of minutes and they settle down. This was not a big deal to us since we live in Florida. The cabin gives you a bit of a camping experience with the windows and view of river. We would definitely stay here again.
