Overall, the location is great and the complex that the apartment is in is great. It is a very safe, gated community where everyone is tracked going in/out. There is beach access and two very nice pools and a decent workout room that all residents have access to. It's not that farm from San Juan if you're wanting to go into town for a night or so, and it's kinda nice to be out a little bit away from all the traffic and hustle of the city. However, the apartment itself left much to be desired. I am writing this review now after looking at several other apartments available in the same complex that appear to be maintained much better. I wish I had seen those when I was initially looking for a place to rent because I would not have chosen this location. Basic things I would have expected to be there were absent:
No kitchen cooking utensils. There were grill tools but literally no spatula or anything for cooking.
No garbage bag and no garbage can...how are we supposed to keep the place clean?
No paper towels, no hand towels anywhere in the apartment-just a few bath towels (2 dirty bath towels were left hanging WET in the bathroom).
Very little toilet paper. There were half rolls on the actual spools and one small roll in the medicine cabinet. This place is supposed to be able to sleep 6 people or more, thankfully it was just the two of us, but we still had to buy more at the store.
We ended up going to the grocery store and spending about $20 on these basic things...obviously not a lot of money which is why it would be nice if these items were provided instead of inconveniencing your guests.
The kitchen had one cabinet that is completely molding out. It smells AWFUL, and we kept it shut the entire time.
There is also NO hot water. I do not remember reading this in the description, and this is something that should definitely be mentioned. The hot water heater is the tiniest thing I've ever seen, so you can't even really get hot water to wash dishes. Showers will be cold..."refreshing" if you've been hot outside, but I'm not always in the mood for a cold shower.
Positive things: Like I've said the community is great, safe, and peaceful. But for a few dollars more, there are many more great looking apartments in this same complex.
I don't like writing negative reviews, but at the end of the day, I would not stay at this particular apartment again. I would rather pay a measly $20 a night more for a place much better kept.
