Ever wonder what it’s truly like to stay in a cabin in the woods? You know, away from the crowds and the chaos, in a quiet residential neighborhood. Just maybe you, and up to 9 of your closest friends, roughing it on the side of a mountain while you become one with nature? Well, at Barton Creek Lodge in Breckenridge, you can wonder no more. Here’s a little bit about what “roughing it” here is like.
Begin with 2,200-feet of living space located in the Peak 7 neighborhood, complete with 4 bedrooms, 4 bathrooms, 3 parking spaces, and a separate sleeping area that can comfortably accommodate 10 adults. Next, get your heat the old-fashioned way by huddling around the ornate, wood-burning fireplace in the main living area. Or, you know, turn on your central heating. Properly warmed yet? Then head out to your deck to view the surrounding mountains that you will conquer tomorrow. With your next-day plan of attack in place, take a stroll across the creaky floor and ascend upstairs to the loft for a little R&R. Once rested, head to the quaint kitchen to feed the hungry mouths after your long day on the mountain. Of course, one cannot truly experience the great outdoors without the help of some libations in the outdoor hot tub.
Okay, okay. We get it. There’s no such thing as “roughing it” when you choose lodging from InvitedHome. But this charmingly rustic, hillside cabin is about as close as you’ll get. It at least has that authentic feel you covet on your next Breck vacation. And while you’re never going to fool your friends that en-suite bathrooms to every bedroom and spending all day watching TV in a rec room is the rugged life, maybe you can earn their respect by roughing it. Don’t worry – we won’t tell them about having the luxury and ease of parking with your 2 free gondola parking passes that are included with your stay during winter. Everyone is entitled to some luxury!

We had a wonderful stay with Season's Dreams! We were actually in a home that experienced a power outage the day after we arrived - the people at Season's Dreams were kind enough to work with us and find a different home that had power and make sure we were well situated! We really appreciated their flexibility and attentiveness and will stay again soon! Thanks for a great trip!
We loved the house. Also InvitedHome did an amazing job of accommodating us. We were very impressed!
The path up the mountain was breathtaking and exciting. The property is close to town and all the necessary amenities needed for your stay. The bedrooms and sofa beds were enough to accommodate our entire party. Additionally, our patio upstairs and downstairs was phenomenal. Even the nearby neighbor was very nice and asked if we need anything. Moreover, linen and bathroom towels were made available. Even little condiments such as dish liquid detergent and other amenities made it feel like we were in the comfort of home. The house was more than we expected in room and quality. The only downside was adjusting the air to a comfortable temperature took several days to adjust. Downstairs remained pretty hot but we fought through it.
On a positive note, we received a call prior to arriving which was nice and provided me with additional information I needed prior to arriving. Additionally, my family was provided a Christmas tree to celebrate the holidays.
Overall, it the best trip my family and I have been on ever. My family members raved about the location and all small things you get which was far better than staying at a resort. We will definitely be back and will look at other locations as well. Thanks for the professionalism, courteous and well keep home.
House was in a nice residential area-only about 10 minutes from downtown Breck. Easy to get to trails and the gondola from the house. We had 6 adults and 3 kids in our group and the bedrooms were sufficient for that, but the layout of the house is just weird. Very small living area on the main floor and space in the loft and basement are just not utilized. Also, small kitchen for a house of this size. Place was just a bit worn down and needed some TLC-fridge leaked and so did the dishwasher at times. Some things we did like were the hot tub and the deck was great. It would've been nice to have an umbrella out there though. Overall, we had a nice time but I don't think I would stay here again.
We had a very enjoyable stay at this property. The house is well equipped, in a very quiet location and only ten minutes from town.
We enjoyed our stay in Breckenridge. Vacationed here with three kids and found plenty of fun summer activities in the area.
However, the house was a disappointment. Some of the reasons:
- General shabbiness and dated condition of much of the house on the inside, especially the bedrooms and bathrooms. This included furniture, décor, and general condition of the interior.
- We found several dead bugs laying in plain view in various rooms when we arrived.
- Live ants, moths, flies in the house throughout our stay, despite our keeping doors and windows shut.
- WiFi went out twice during our 5-day stay.
- Reception on living room TV was very static-filled on many channels.
- Lots of weekday traffic on road in front of house. Much of this was construction vehicles going to and from nearby properties.
- Rental agency was very prompt and responsive when we called regarding WiFi and regarding a bear break-in on the trash shed.
- We enjoyed using front and back outdoor decks and the hot tub.
- Large house with four bedrooms, a loft, and two common living areas provides plenty of space.
This house is pretty remote from the town of Breckenridge, about 2 miles outside of town, most of this via dirt road. It is in a quiet, wooded residential area with other houses adjacent and nearby. The remoteness can be a pro or con depending upon your preferences.
