Property was well taken care of, clean, and well stocked for most everything we needed. Beautiful interior with comfortable, classy decor. Close enough to town for a quick visit but also remote enough to feel like you really got away. Can't beat the view of the lake! I'd visit this home any time of the year.
The property and home are beautiful..My first impression was "Wow,I could just move in". Very warm, clean, and cozy. Christine, the caretaker was there the next morning to introduce herself and making sure everything was okay and that I had everything we needed for our stay. She made me feel right at home. I also feel I have a new BFF. My family stayed with me for a wedding, they all LOVED the house, the bedrooms, the view, fireplace, fire pit, walks on the beach. I really can't say enough about how much we enjoyed our stay. Thank you Christine for all your hard work in making it so special. Looking forward to staying there again and seeing my new friend.
There were new appliances in kitchen, and the home was clean with spacious bedrooms, some with views of the lake. We had everything we needed for the week. There were a couple problems with lighting, and getting into the front door was difficult, but it didn't keep us from enjoying the house. Four of us sisters were busy most days touring the area. We took a walking tour of Castle Farms, drove through Fisherman's Island State Park, and went to downtown Charlevoix. Took pictures of the mushroom homes. We also went to Petoskey to shop, drive thru Petoskey State Park, see parks along the lake, and visit Harris Gardens at N. Central Mi. College. We drove through Bay View to see gingerbread cottages. We drove the Tunnel of Trees, saw the Cross in the Woods in Indian River, and took a pontoon boat tour of the Inland Waterway from Allison. We also visited the Lavender Hill Farm in Boyne City. We played "Rook" almost every night on the spacious table off the kitchen. The whole trip was a blast!
Overall the stay was great, location was excellent and nice size home with plenty of space. The only reason we didn't review 5 stars was due to the home maintenance issues; dishwasher not working (tough to do dishes with 4 kids and 7 adults); broken door handle leading to deck; about 1/3 of the light bulbs weren't working; WIFI was extremely intermittent. Don't count on much cell service or any WIFI service, you can't get any work done and as a business owner I had to drive to town on occasion. Besides that, we would stay again!
Four couples spent the first week of August in this Beautiful home. Would highly recommend this home. Great location. Beautiful view of Lake Michigan. Wonderful fire pit, we had a fire 4 of our 7 nights we were there. Kayaks were fun. Water is so clear. Nice area for walking, we all took morning walks on local roads. Seen a lot of wild life, Deer, fox, bunnies on morning walks. We rented a pontoon boat on Lake Charlevoix for 8 hours one day, was fun. Many vineyards near by. Many restaurants, in all the small towns 10 min.-40 min away. It was nice to cook on the grill a few times. (note: if you use the grill don't turn all the burners on as it will not heat up) If you live on your computer or I-phone, internet connection is iffy at best. You may have to drive up the road.
Very clean lots of room for the adults and kids.
