Villa Blue Maho is a charming ridge-top home overlooking Marigot Bay, St. Lucia. Named after a unique tropical wood, Villa Blue Maho offers breathtaking views of the bay, Caribbean Sea and surrounding mountains. The owners traveled the world by yacht before settling in st. Lucia where they designed and built this lovely home and raised a family. The multi-story house has breezy sleeping quarters, spacious living areas, a private pool and many decks for lounging, tanning and entertaining. This rental is perfect for individuals, couples or families who are seeking a self-paced vacation different from the all-inclusive resort experience.

Villa Blue Maho was designed and built by the owner as a perfect retirement and hide away home. The property encompasses all the pleasures of Caribbean life while maintaining a feeling of relaxation, privacy and serenity.
Definitely the views. The Villa was built to take maximum advantage of every possible vantage point. With multi-level decks overlooking the mountains, sea and bay below, a sparkling wave or warm, nectar-colored sunset is never far away.
Wonderful house with great views, nice clean pool and outdoor spaces, and plenty of room for the family. We were able to easily get water taxis to the best beaches along the coast, and it's a good central location for driving trips as well. The caretakers were wonderfully helpful. It's hard to imagine a more beautiful place to have breakfast than the kitchen deck.
The house could use a little maintenance. Many light fixtures are showing bare bulbs, so it's not as comfortable as it could be at night. Also the stove must be lit with matches, and we could not figure out the oven at all (not that we particularly needed it). It would also be nice to have the sunset balcony set up. None of this detracted from our vacation - we had a great time - just some things to consider to make it perfect.
We shared this accommodation with another couple and there was plenty of room for all of us. The choice of watching the bay from either the small upper deck or the deck by the pool was fabulous. The villa was clean and comfortable and we appreciated the manager, Pauline, who was available any time if we had questions or concerns regarding the villa.
An ideal property for our family, who came for varying times throughout the 3 weeks we spent there. Villa was as well equipped as any family home, had both east & west facing terraces so always somewhere for everyone to sit either in sun or shade.
This charming fabulous home was so comfortable we could have stayed for a lifetime. With three decks that oversee the ocean, there was always entertainment watching the boats. Marigot bay is so fascinating, I would live there & never have to go far. The people were kind, generous & loads of fun. So many great restaurants in walking or water taxi distance. Wonderful night life with great live music. You can walk easily home or taxis are always available. We went on an incredible boat trip with Kieran (info@toursinstlucia.com) & it was a highlight of my life. This home has so many comfortable places to relax, it felt like a mansion. Incredible kitchen with all the updated machines you could ask for. So easy to cook in, I felt like I was home. The home sparkled with cleanliness. The huge yard was well manicured & felt like living in a rainforest with interesting plants. I loved the tiny Antillean crested hummingbirds that live there probably because of the amount of the blooming bougainvillea. May God bless you for sharing your home with us!!!
We stayed for 6 nights in August in Villa Blue Maho. We found it to be a very large and convenient rental, with its own pool. It has incredible views of Marigot Bay and Doolittle beach. The location was ideal for us. Being south of Castries gives you relatively quick access to many parts of the island. Dining and grocery are not far away if you have a car. We also loved having our own private pool to cool off during the warm summer evenings.
The property is a large, individual villa on a quiet street. From the entrance lobby, there are 2 big air-conditioned bedrooms on either side, each with it's own bathroom. The access to the pool deck is also off the main floor. Upstairs, there is a huge kitchen, and two large living areas and another bedroom and bathroom. There is good wifi access and the mosquito netting is adequate. We cooked several meals at home and found the kitchen has plenty of pots and pans, and basic appliances, though it could do with some new coffee mugs. We felt very secure in the house. External doors had deadbolts, and the driveway gate has a padlock that we always secured when we left for the day, and returned for the night.
Being an older house, there are some maintenance issues that need to be addressed. The door to the master bathroom doesn't fully shut which means the a/c cannot keep up. We also encountered a leak in the laundry room. Having laundry facilities on site was a big help, though! The microwave gave out during our stay, but was promptly replaced.
Note, there is no phone in the villa. And, we aren't sure why, but we weren't able to make wi-fi calls using our phone either. Pauline and Cornelius were very helpful in responding to our concerns, but, we could only reach them via email. So, I recommend having a local phone if you want to stay here. Also, it may be difficult to find the place initially – so avoid reaching there at night.
Just had to tear ourselves away after 2 weeks at Blue Maho. This unique, spacious villa had begun to feel like home; it is an older property and has a few quirks but these mostly add to the charm. In general, the description of this villa was very accurate and we felt good value for money. However, some of the windows and mosquito screens could do with some attention.
The through lounge is an ideal place for relaxation and the 2 main bedrooms really large and with efficient air conditioning. And the massive beds must be the most comfortable I have slept on while away on holiday. The good sized pool may be cold but is very refreshing to escape the heat.
The view must be the top selling point of this villa, though. Overlooking the whole of Marigot Bay, you can spend hours watching yachts come and go, the little ferries going between the shores, the pleasure tours with their music, dancing and guides (not too many of these luckily!); plus in the evening you can see the cruise ships going back out to sea for the next leg of their journey.
The manager Pauline was wonderful - she responded immediately to any problems and was full of useful information. She met us to guide us to the villa so we found it OK; however, perhaps some signs could be put up on the local roads to help people find it?
There are several restaurants in Marigot Bay, most of which we tried. The Rainforest Hideaway is worth a visit if only for its position, Doolittles was rather disappointing, Mygo's OK and Juilettes at the top of the bay a good option.
The drive to Soufriere, although only 20 miles, took us about an hour (we had hired our own car) but it is well worth a visit The road is in fairly good condition (compared to some of the other roads we drove on!) but winds its way up and down all the hills. We especially enjoyed the mud baths at the Sulphur Springs. And we had a couple of lovely lunches in the restaurants of 2 hotels: Hummingbird (just as you come into Soufriere) and Stonevillas Estate (on the hill going out of Soufriere). Another trip worth going on is the aerial tram ride; we managed (eventually) to find this ourselves but you might be better getting a taxi as it is really difficult finding your way around in a car once you get off the main roads; no road signs and rarely a sign to tell you which village you are in. Pigeon Island in the north is also worth a look.
Altogether, a lovely holiday in the most beautiful bay on a beautiful island.
