3 self contained units,near Horseshoe Beach,trans,Gulfstream Res, golf,views

Self contained ceramic tiled(2) and ceramic and carpeted(1) air conditioned units with kitchenettes and pool patio cooking grill. Units have 2 single beds that can be made into one Queen upon request and a shower bathroom. Kitchenettes are fully equipped with coffee makers, stoves, refrigerators, microwaves and all needed cutlery and cooking and serving utensils.

The kitchen area has a full sized table with 4 chairs for meals and there are lighted end tables for each bed in the sleeping area.

All linens and towels are provided along with maid service.

The amenities are as follows: a day or night putting green, pool with jacuzzi and shallow end for youth. Walk to Horseshoe Beach, public transportation and restaurants. Transportation will be provided for your Market place trip to purchase any grocery or other items you need.

Outside of your unit are ocean views all around, a patio, pool, outdoor grill, gardens, turtle habitat,goldfish pond and putting green.

The building is pink with blue porch color and dark green blinds and has an office on the lower level with a telephone for tourist use.

Sound View Cottage is closed from November through March.

Fantastic view with great friendly staff!

Barbara and Eldon great hosts and are very very welcoming. They make sure you get situated with ease and comfort. Checking in and checking out was very smooth. Our rooms were made every day, which was fantastic. And we loved taking a swim in the pool after a long day at the beach. The biggest plus is that their rates are very economical and very close to Horseshoe Bay and Warwick Long Bay beaches. The view from the Sound View Cottages is simply breathtaking. They are also centrally located which made getting to different parts of the island extremely easy. There was ample parking for our rental scooter on top of the hill.... right next to the golf putting green :-). Many thanks to our host for making our trip very enjoyable and relaxing.

Once you arrive at the top of the hill at the end of the winding curvy Bowe Lane, you'll see the stupendous view of hill sides, pastel colored homes, greenery and water views all around. The pink and blue of Sound View Cottage blends beautifully against Bermuda's clear and endless sky and bright white clouds. Looking around you will see the well manicured putting green, large cedar tree and fenced gardens bearing vegetables for your choosing to cook in your private unit which has a kitchenett or cook on the outdoor grill on the pool patio on the lower level of the building. Walking down the steps to your unit you'll see the stupendous view of the Sound with it's islands, smooth blue waters, Riddles Bay Golf course, the Marketplace, Middle Road and Dockyard with the cruise ships. Everything at a distance far enough away so you don't hear them, but only see them. Bring your cameras around the pool patio at night for fantastic sunsets and around the putting green at daybreak for spectacular sky photos as the sun rises each day. Also view our turtle habitat near the putting green and see the variety of fruit trees along the garden. The fish pond also houses our goldfish who come to the surface to say hello each time someone passes by the office in the lower area of the building.

It's an easy walk away to the bus stop on Horseshoe Road and The Southampton Rangers Sports Club where cricket and soccer games are played. Along the way to the bus stop, you'll see The Gulfstream Restaurant, a snowball truck and the entrance to Beautiful Horseshoe Bay Beach which also has a cove for those who don't like waves. Further West on Horseshoe Road you'll find A golf course;The Fairmount Southampton Princess, which has entertainment at the Jasmin Lounge and good food; Henry The Eighth which is a great place for food, drinks and dancing; the road to the Gibbs Hill Lighthouse (a must visit attraction. people come back raving about their visit there and the food); The Reefs which also has great food, and entertainment and St Annes Church. As you travel for the 5-10 mins the ocean views will force you to stop for photos and breathe the ocean air. You may even stop to visit the beaches you'll pass along Horseshoe Road.If you take Horseshoe Road 25 minutes further West, you'll end up at the Western end of the island which you viewed from your unit and can stop at various points of interests such as Fort Scour; ride over the smallest draw bridge in the world; St James Church (people rave about it's beauty) and many other points of interest. Dockyard has many activities and places of interest such as, glass blowing factory;The Maritime Museum; and restaurants and souvenier shops with Bermuda made hand crafted and written items available. Of course, you'll see up close the huge cruise ships docked there which is a sight to behold for everyone day or night.

Going East on Horseshoe Road, you'll pass more beaches and Astwood park where there's a bench for the perfect packed lunch. Before Astwood park, there's The horseback riding trail near Long Bay; a children's park with swings and playground type equipment and Swizzle Inn, a place for good food and drink with entertainment. Going further East for another 10 mins would place you in Hamilton, which is our city located right along the Harbor. Further 25 minutes of travel Eastward would place you in St Georges, the East end of the island with many enchanting points of interest such as The Crystal Caves, Tuckers Point, Devils Hole and Spanish pond to name a few, and with beaches to visit along the way.

If you leave your unit and travel down Bowe Lane and make a left turn and follow the winding road to Middle road, you can go to the Riddles Bay Golf Course; Marketplace; or Island Cusine, which makes a wonderful Bermuda Codfish breakfast. If you continue Eastward, you'll also get to Hamilton, our city along the Harbor and further Eastward would place you also at the Eastern end of Bermuda, St Georges.

. Going Westward, you'll pass The Raynors gas Station (you'll need gas for your moped); Vernon Temple AME Church; A Tai food takeout restaurant (great food, even sushi rolls) and travelling further, you could also arrive in Dockyard in about 20-25 minutes.

So with magnificent hospitality (Sound View is a VIP Award winner), nature, views, adequate amenities and quiet beauty, the area around Sound View Cottage also offers you some great activities to make your stay in Bermuda a pleasantly delightful and memorable one worth repeating again and again. Sound View Cottage has WiFi and Cable capabilities as well.

Notes:
The owners will assist with driving to the nearby grocery store, bus tickets, private golf lessons on the putting green and charcoal provided for the brick pool patio cook out grill. The lighted pool makes swimming at night quite a treat while watching the sunset over the Sound. A short walk to Horseshoe Beach or bus transportation will leave you delighted with this 3 unit tourist accommodation.
