Nice place, great area, beautiful beach.

  • 5 of 5

Ed was very responsive, and worked well with us. The house was clean and very well stocked. The walk to the beach was a little farther than I thought, but such a beautiful well manacured area that we didn't mind. Since we were there for red tide and a couple extremely windy stormy days, we didn't mind being closer to the bay. We enjoyed the dock in the back. Also the pool and BBQ area were real nice. The beds were extremely comfortable. Beautiful beach.

Great Family Vacation On Siesta Key Beach!!

  • 5 of 5

My family and I (wife and four children) regularly use VRBO.COM for our travel. And why some are better than other, we loved staying in this beach condominium, as it was very clean, warm, and welcoming. Between the fresh flowers, bottle of wine, new towels/linens, and how the unit is decorated, for our family, this was a solid 9/10. There are 3 separate bedrooms and a sleeper sofa in the living room. We loved the fact that there are 2 master suits upstairs, which gave us privacy from the kids. Also, the unit is very well stocked with more than enough spices, cooking pots, pans, and coffee. The unit even has a wine refrigerator in the dining room! The grounds of the complex are very well maintained. There are two heated pools(one pool is 60 feet off the back porch), three saunas, and a new fitness facility. In addition, there is a new fishing pier to the rear of the complex. As for the beach itself, I now understand why Siesta Beach is consistently ranked in the top 20 beaches in the World, as the sand is as fine as sugar, while being as cool as the other side of the pillow.

We loved our vacation and look forward to staying here next year!

This was our first VRBO rental. What we discovered is that with VRBO you have no "middle man" to engage for support and service as compared to renting from a typical travel agency/hotel/3rd party provider. So, when your tub doesn't drain, you either fix it yourself or you have to call the actual owner of the condo to come fix it. Frankly we felt a bit more uneasy calling the owner of the condo to address things like this whereas if we had rented from an agency you know they have maint personnel on property to immediately fix minor issues. Just our $.02 for you to consider when renting VRBO.

Positives: Relatively close to the beach (7-8 minute walk), beach was less crowded near this area, 2 pools, TV's in every room, some upgrades in the condo, jungle like feel on back side of condo (between back patio and pool), decently stocked kitchen (cooking tools, pots, pans, etc.), bedrooms were good size, HVAC worked well, there were some new bath towels in the closet, unit appeared ready when we arrived, seemed like a very safe area, mostly quiet (we didn't experience much road noise despite being near the road), brand new fishing deck on the canal near back of property, being in Siesta Key is a major positive.

Other Feedback: Kitchen is a very small "galley" type kitchen...don't expect to have more than 2-3 people in kitchen at the same time, water pressure and temp is affected greatly by how much water is being used at the same time so don't plan on having mult people take a shower at the same time, we had to unclog several drains (there was Drano in the unit, but that doesn't really work), while you *can* sleep 7-8 in this unit, it's really more of a 6 person unit, dinner table in unit only had room for 4 so others have to sit at the patio table to eat, it was relatively clean, but don't expect hotel type clean, paint peeling/missing in several areas, lowest grade available sundries are in the unit (soap, washing detergent, etc.) but we opted to buy better quality sundries for our use, one of the beds "leaned" (not sure why) so we had to use towels under mattress to level it out.

Providing a 3 star rating, although several people in our group suggested 2 stars. It could go either way depending on your experience at staying in condos in FL. We have used other vacation rental companies before in different parts of FL and paid less for much nicer accommodations, but we do feel that the Siesta Key area is much better than the panhandle of FL.

Siesta Key experience

  • 5 of 5

We came the week after Christmas and had a fantastic time at the beach with our family at this property. It was a short walk to the beautiful white sands of the beach and just a short drive to the little local restaurants there. We hardly got in the car, however, because we cooked all week and were able to spend quality time together at this condo. We were greeted with a dozen roses and an older but clean property that was roomy enough for everyone to find a quiet corner if they wished. There were nice tennis courts, two pools, and the beach for entertainment. Ed was quick to respond to questions and helpful. I had never used VRBO before and was a little nervous, but this was a great experience!

Owner's Response: I am very happy to hear that you enjoyed your family vacation! As with all our properties, we try to give the best customer service possible to all out guests. You are correct about the age of the property, as all of Siesta Key was constructed in the 1970's; however, since purchasing the property, we have gone to great lenghts in updating the televisions, appliances, furniture, and linens. We hope you have a healthy new year and hope to see you in the future. Kind Regards, Siesta Key Vacation Rentals

Spacious Unit Near Siesta Key Beach

  • 4 of 5

The beach is beautiful & Siesta Key is a walker's paradise. The Village is 2 miles north with Stickney Point Rd a half mile south. Plenty of good restaurants & shops nearby. Loved renting bikes & also kayaks near Turtle Beach.

Photos on VRBO accurately depict the unit. Owner was responsive ahead of our visit, we did not require any interaction during our stay. The unit was clean upon our arrival. Unit has normal wear & tear to be expected from a rental unit and I would describe the overall condition as good. Things we liked best about the place included: 1) Spacious unit offering plenty of room for a family to spread out with 2 BRs/2 baths upstairs plus 1 BR & a half bath downstairs; 2) Pool was located steps out the back door that was great for reading/relaxing & offered a mix of sun or shade most of the day; 3) Complex has ample lounge chairs to help relax at the beach and the beach-side pool/restrooms are a nice convenience; 4) Complex has an updated fitness center that we enjoyed using several times.

Minor drawbacks about the unit included: 1) Road noise -- the unit is right on Midnight Pass Rd and you will hear noise from the street in the downstairs BR and upstairs guest BR. Road noise is not an issue in the living room or master BR; 2) Due to surrounding trees/foliage, the unit is dark and doesn't get much sunlight in the living room or lanai.

The beach is about a 7-8 minute walk across Midnight Pass Rd. We did not mind this distance and spent much time enjoying the beautiful sand & walking along the gulf. With smaller children, getting back & forth to the beach may be more of a consideration.

Overall, we enjoyed our stay at this unit. Every rental has its pluses & minuses and I hope our balanced comments will be helpful to future travelers as they evaluate rental options.

very well-shaded

  • 4 of 5

Owner was very accommodating; when lightbulbs or internet were out, he came promptly and replaced/fixed them. The unit itself is very well shaded; if you like cool and dark as opposed to light and bright, this is the place for you. It is a two story unit, with very spacious 2 upstairs bedrooms. The main floor bedroom (2 single beds) would be good for kids. My adult son complained that the bed was too short for him; his feet hung way over the edge (he is six foot three). In terms of kitchen equipment, it is pretty well stocked except that there are zero small glasses (for things like morning orange juice). All the glasses hold huge amounts except for a couple of champagne flutes that one would not want to give to children. I did especially appreciate that owner lets folks leave excess spices and staples in the cupboard, which fact makes cooking easier.

Owner's Response: Dear Leslie, Thank you for taking the time to write your review. As with all our guests, we strive to provide superior customer service! We are sorry your Son, who is 6'3, did not find a bed to his liking. As with many units I have encountered throughout the years, a standard bed(Single, Queen, King, or California King) is to be expected, as opposed to a custom fit bed. As for the shade, which is provided, via the lush landscaping, we have no control over that; however, there is ample room outside, as well as throughout the complex, for those who enjoy reading. We thank you for your stay and hope you all had a great time! We look forward to hearing from you in the future.
