Overview

About the property

Mountain retreat says it all! Our A-frame home is a place where we disconnect. From the deck you can enjoy the sounds of the Eastbranch River, many birds, and the peace and quiet of the mountains. We see quite a bit of wildlife including bear, turkey, fox, an occasional deer or moose, and at night we hear owls a lot. Many nights have been spent outside enjoying time with friends and family by the fire pit. Our home is designed for the outdoor enthusiast in mind... Comfortable and casual, clean and inviting. Great front entry to store all your gear, which opens into a galley style kitchen. It's small but well stocked so you'll only really need to bring food. Spices, basic ingredients, and plenty of cookware are there for you to use. The living area has a queen sleeper sofa, leather chairs, and plenty of space for kicking your feet up and enjoying the gas fireplace after a fun day out. There is a dining table that seats 4 comfortably which looks out to Mt Kearsarge and Mt Surprise in the winter (the sun rises from this direction and is quite beautiful). The bathroom is on the main level as well. As with most A-frames, there is access to the upstairs by way of the ladder type stairs. Kids love it, however it isn't for everyone. Upstairs there are two bedrooms... one bedroom with a queen bed and the other with 2 twins. Both are small but very comfortable with tempurpedic mattresses and luxurious bedding.

Notes:
If you are interested in exploring the Maine Coast, it is about a 1 hour drive. The closest airport is 1 hour away in Portland Maine. Portland has a plethora of great restaurants & bars along w/fun little backroads to explore along the coast. Skiing is abundant & close to our house. Cranmore, Attitash & Black Mtn are about 5 minutes away. Brettonwoods &d King Pine about 25 to 30 minutes, Sunday River about one hour. And there are several others that are within that one hour radius. If you're a cross country skier there are several top notch touring areas within 15 minutes of the house. Hiking & biking is right out the door & climbing (rock and Ice) are literally minutes away. Some of the best climbing in the East is about 5 minutes away. Fly Fishing, Kayaking & canoeing on the Saco River is really popular too & about 5 minutes away. For motorcyclist, Laconia Bike Week is popular & one hour away. From cooking classes to Storyland Amusement Park (both 5 minutes away).

Best Possible Choice!

  • 5 of 5

Initially I was a bit overwhelmed by the sheer volume of houses available to rent, however, I kept getting drawn back to this little A-frame. We looked at different houses (all bigger) in different locations and ultimately decided on this one (3 days before our trip). We couldn't have made a better choice. The house was clearly prepared for our arrival. Debbie opened a few windows and left out information sheets about the house and surrounding area complete with everyone's name (our kids really appreciated this). Little Pine Lodge is definitely a bit little, however, it definitely fights above it's weight. We never had the feeling that it was cramped at all. The furnishings are nice and comfortable and the location is ideal. We were about 5-10 minutes out of North Conway. We did a lot of hiking off the Kancamangus and up near Pinkham Notch which we got to in 20 - 30 minutes. We were early and the snow was still too deep for the good trails around the house but the location for that was ideal as well. Debbie is extremely accommodating and doesn't put you through the nickel and diming (trash, linens etc.) that other rentals do. Our family of 4 (boy 11 and girl 7) had no issues with the space and I would expect that another couple of people would fit just fine. We left feeling that we lacked nothing and anxious to book out next stay. You will not regret this decision!

Beatifull, Cozy, Clean, Perfect!

  • 5 of 5

My wife and I were in love with this lodge from the moment we arrived. It is clean, comfortable, very cozy and perfect for a relaxing experience. Little Pine Lodge has the perfect location for all seasons.Debbie was very nice answering all our questions & giving suggestions. She was very attentive during a snow storm (shovolled the soroundings and making sure we had everithing we kneeded). I am planning to come back soon.

What else I can say, Perfect!!

"Perfect little getaway"

  • 5 of 5

My husband, myself, and our eight year old son stayed at Little Pine Lodge. We were looking for a comfortable and quant place to stay for a quick getaway in the mountains. Well, quant is the operative word here. The house of course caught our eye on line. When we pulled up and saw it in person, it was everything it said it was and more. It is so adorable and well kept from the outside and in. We called it the "gingerbread house." The home was impeccably clean and had everything a small family would need. Our other goal besides getting away, was to teach our son how to ski. He had a lesson at Cranmore, which is less than ten minutes away, and he had a blast and learned to ski! We loved coming home after a long day in the fresh air to this home away from home. We watched movies on Netflix, played board games, and enjoyed the gas fireplace. Our son especially got a kick out of the ladder to the upstairs. He said it was like his own private tree house. We had an opportunity to meet Debbie in person, and she was so sweet, helpful, and well just delightful.

Thank you Debbie Anderson for a wonderful start to a new and happy 2017!

Adorable House

  • 5 of 5

Our family of four had a lovely stay here during a recent ski trip. The ladder up to the bedrooms was a big hit with our kids. The house is cozy, well stocked (kitchen had everything you could need), clean and nicely decorated. Owner was very helpful and responsive. We hope to return in the future.

A Special Place!

  • 5 of 5

The perfect place for a relaxing vacation. Immaculately clean, warm hospitality, comfortable and well stocked with everything you need. Great location for plenty of outdoor fun and activity. Debbie leaves an assortment of good information about the area's attractions. This includes a secret water hole, which is a MUST see! Debbie is very helpful!

The property listing is very accurate. It's cute, small but not too small. Be aware, because it is an "A" frame, there is a ladder, not stairs to the upstairs bedrooms. It is very sturdy and not a problem, but some folks might not be comfortable with the ladder.

Will be on my list of places to visit again! You can't go wrong selecting this home.

Little Pine Lodge is just north of North Conway Village. Many wonderful restaurants, great outlet shopping, tons of outdoor activities. The area is especially popular with skiers, snowboarders, hikers, and ice climbers in the winter. In the summer... hiking, rock climbing, biking - both mountain and road, kayaking, canoeing, or just floating in a tube down the Saco River, and fishing of all kinds. The foliage, in my opinion, is world-class in the fall. Fryeburg Fair (first week in October) is located about 30 miles away. During the third week in June, Laconia Bike Week is a popular event (about an hours drive) which brings thousands of motorcycle enthusiasts from all over North America. If I haven't mentioned an activity you enjoy, please ask me about it. The area quite literally has something for everyone and I would be happy to help you with information regarding your interests. Just driving on our many scenic back-roads is a pleasure in itself.
