Mountain Getaway in the Heart of the White Mountains

Bedrooms 2
Space 900 sq. ft.
Property type chalet
Minimum Stay 3 nights

About the property

Mountain retreat says it all! Our A-frame home is a place where we disconnect. From the deck you can enjoy the sounds of the Eastbranch River, many birds, and the peace and quiet of the mountains. We see quite a bit of wildlife including bear, turkey, fox, an occasional deer or moose, and at night we hear owls a lot. Many nights have been spent outside enjoying time with friends and family by the fire pit. Our home is designed for the outdoor enthusiast in mind... Comfortable and casual, clean and inviting. Great front entry to store all your gear, which opens into a galley style kitchen. It's small but well stocked so you'll only really need to bring food. Spices, basic ingredients, and plenty of cookware are there for you to use. The living area has a queen sleeper sofa, leather chairs, and plenty of space for kicking your feet up and enjoying the gas fireplace after a fun day out. There is a dining table that seats 4 comfortably which looks out to Mt Kearsarge and Mt Surprise in the winter (the sun rises from this direction and is quite beautiful). The bathroom is on the main level as well. As with most A-frames, there is access to the upstairs by way of the ladder type stairs. Kids love it, however it isn't for everyone. Upstairs there are two bedrooms... one bedroom with a queen bed and the other with 2 twins. Both are small but very comfortable with tempurpedic mattresses and luxurious bedding.

If you are interested in exploring the Maine Coast, it is about a 1 hour drive. The closest airport is 1 hour away in Portland Maine. Portland has a plethora of great restaurants & bars along w/fun little backroads to explore along the coast. Skiing is abundant & close to our house. Cranmore, Attitash & Black Mtn are about 5 minutes away. Brettonwoods &d King Pine about 25 to 30 minutes, Sunday River about one hour. And there are several others that are within that one hour radius. If you're a cross country skier there are several top notch touring areas within 15 minutes of the house. Hiking & biking is right out the door & climbing (rock and Ice) are literally minutes away. Some of the best climbing in the East is about 5 minutes away. Fly Fishing, Kayaking & canoeing on the Saco River is really popular too & about 5 minutes away. For motorcyclist, Laconia Bike Week is popular & one hour away. From cooking classes to Storyland Amusement Park (both 5 minutes away).

Great location, cozy house

  • 5 of 5

Some friends from college and I stayed for 3 nights in this cottage and had a great time. It's a very peaceful location, but close enough to businesses and activities to have the best of both worlds. The owner Deb was also very accommodating and made us feel welcome.

Amazing vacation stay, Thank you

  • 5 of 5

My family and I loved our Stay. All concerns about size and functionality where immediately gone the minute we walked in. The place is extremely clean due to the updated kitchen, floors and bathroom in addition to the new furniture and décor. We had an amazing time and stayed warm even throughout a deep freeze week of single digit daytime temps and well below zero night time temps. Would definitely stay again.

Wonderful winter getaway

  • 5 of 5

This A-frame is the perfect spot for a cozy getaway during the winter months. The house itself is perfectly stocked with everything you could need (e.g., cooking essentials, plenty of games, TV/internet) and makes for an easy stay. The location is great and puts you with easy access to restaurants and the White Mountains. I would definitely visit again and recommend!

A great place to reconnect as a family!

  • 5 of 5

Our family of four could not have been happier with this selection. Very inviting, clean, homey and comfortable. Host provided great communication and welcoming environment. Honestly, I can’t see us going to the White Mountains again unless this property is available!

We recently had the pleasure of staying at this little gem and could not have been happier with our choice. It was just perfect for us. It is private, and though there are neighbors, the house is tucked quaintly in the woods so that you barely notice them. It sits on a quiet, country road. It is spotlessly clean (and I am picky!) and well- stocked with anything you might need. Debbie was wonderful to work with and really went above and beyond to make sure we had everything we needed to make our trip perfect, including a thorough packet of information on the Conway area. She even remembered it was our anniversary! There is no question she genuinely cares about her home and the comfort of her guests. We have stayed at a number of places in the Conway area over the years and this was our favorite. Debbie, thank you!! We are hoping to return soon!

Little Pine Lodge is just north of North Conway Village. Many wonderful restaurants, great outlet shopping, tons of outdoor activities. The area is especially popular with skiers, snowboarders, hikers, and ice climbers in the winter. In the summer... hiking, rock climbing, biking - both mountain and road, kayaking, canoeing, or just floating in a tube down the Saco River, and fishing of all kinds. The foliage, in my opinion, is world-class in the fall. Fryeburg Fair (first week in October) is located about 30 miles away. During the third week in June, Laconia Bike Week is a popular event (about an hours drive) which brings thousands of motorcycle enthusiasts from all over North America. If I haven't mentioned an activity you enjoy, please ask me about it. The area quite literally has something for everyone and I would be happy to help you with information regarding your interests. Just driving on our many scenic back-roads is a pleasure in itself.
