Clean, roomy home in a central location

  • 5 of 5

We had a great stay. The home was very clean and well maintained. The beds were comfortable. It's located close to both the Bourne and Sagamore Bridges. Easy access to the beaches and the Cape.

Beautiful, clean cottage with little beach right around the corner!

  • 5 of 5

Our family of 5 (ages 17 and up) enjoyed our stay in this very clean, updated cottage. I fell in love with the kitchen which must have been just redone, beautiful cabinets and new appliances. All rooms looked freshly painted, bathroom was spotless, carpets and furniture looked and smelled great. Beds were all very comfortable, nice towels and bedding - all things that very important to me when deciding not to stay in a hotel. It is spacious, we all fit around the table and enjoyed our steamed lobsters we brought back home for dinner. My husband and I enjoyed our coffee every morning with the beautiful view of the bay through the living room windows. There is a large, fenced in back yard which gives you great privacy when sitting on the patio. We went to all points of the Cape with ease and were happy to return to our cottage every night. It also was a huge bonus to have a little beach within a 2 minute walk from the cottage. Catherine has beach chairs and an umbrella available to use and we blended up some cocktails and walked down. The boys fished (we brought our kayaks) and caught bass and perch. The water was nice and clean, there is a little roped off area and good swimmers can go beyond and jump and dive of the little floating dock. We traveled to the ocean our first day but had to leave and return to our little beach because it was so windy we felt like we were caught in a sand storm. I HIGHLY recommend staying here. Thank you Catherine for sharing your beautiful cottage with us!

A great place for a Boston/Cape Cod vacation!

  • 5 of 5

My wife and I stayed here with our two kids (high school and college aged). It was a fantastic choice, serving a great departure point for Boston (the Freedom Trail and New England Aquarium were two of our trips) or the Cape (whale watching out of Provincetown, the National Seashore, Woods Hole, and various beaches). The house is beautiful, and you can see Little Buttermilk Bay from the front picture window. The beds were comfy, and the house was spotless and nicely decorated. We loved it!

Beautiful house, great location, wonderful views

  • 5 of 5

This was our first trip to Cape Cod and the house worked perfectly for us. It is beautifully kept, clean, spacious and very comfortable. There was plenty of room for our family of 5 - great kitchen, very nice bedrooms with comfortable beds, plenty of living space. The decor is so cute and very much in line with the Cape Cod location. The neighborhood was quiet and very nice. The bay is right across the small street and can by seen very well from the front of the house and all the front windows. The location is great for exploring the Cape or going to Boston for the day. We had a great vacation here and hopefully will get to come back soon. The property owners are very nice and easy to work with. I would definitely stay at this rental again and recommend it to friends.

A welcoming home away from home!

  • 5 of 5

We traveled with our daughter and her two small children. This home was perfect. As we entered through the back gate, the two-year old excitedly said, "This is awesome!" as she spotted the sand box that was waiting with trucks and pails and shovels. This home is clean, comfortable and cozy. We walked to the pond that is nearby for an enjoyable swim and play in the sand. The location is perfect for sight seeing and just a short distance to the ocean front. If we come back to the area, we would definitely rent again. Thank you Catherine for making this available for our family.

About Catherine Duffy

My husband, three children, all now adults, came to MA 11yrs ago from Ireland. We lived in Cork and moved here with my husband's work. We now live in Westborough where I have an in-home dog boarding business for vacationers. Some of the dogs sleep with me also as that is what they are used to. I love it.

Catherine Duffy purchased this cottage in 2010

Why Catherine Duffy chose Buzzards Bay

We have always loved the canal and would often travel there at weekends for day trips. We would buy an ice-cream and just sit near the tourist office and watch the boats sail by or watch people on the canal biking, taking their dogs/children for walks or rides in the strollers that trail behind their bikes. It is just a fun and relaxing place to go. When this house came on the market we bought it within a week of it being advertised as we loved the location, so near to the canal, our favorite spot, and also water views from all of the front windows which has such a relaxing effect on the soul.

What makes this cottage unique

We have a small residents man-made beach within walking distance which is great for our grandson as it is a lake as opposed to salt water.

We also have a small salt water beach with a children's play area with swings about a half mile away.

There are larger beaches in the area and also a water park.

We love to watch the sunsets over the water and see the boats bobbing up and down in the water.

The property is walking distance from both saltwater and freshwater beaches. It is about a mile from Cape Cod Canal. The canal has service roads along both sides that are closed to traffic and are used for walking, biking or to roller blade. Cape Cod had numerous beaches and quaint villages and towns. There are many restaurants within a couple of miles of the property. The property has central air conditioning and a closed in back yard. All modern conveniences; dishwasher, microwave, washer/drier and WiFi. The property is also convenient for trips to Boston or Providence. There are lots of activities to do, cycle, hike, swim, sunbathe, roller blade, whale watch, shopping, fine dining, fishing and more.
