totally worth is for the view, the pier, the beach - we love the island and this little pad was perfect for our family. Whilst a bit pricey, we had plenty of space, comfort and any issues we had were fixed asap by the north captiva island club.

Thanks and see you next time

Comfortable, Cozy, Quiet, Clean!

Our first trip to the island and we hit the jackpot! Our choice of Dolphin Cottage was everything we hoped for - and more. Such a wonderful experience at an excellent location on the island. The cottage was so tastefully decorated and clean with everything as per the listing. Don't want to brag too much or it will become too popular and we might not be able to rent next time we come to the island. Yes, we WILL be back!

We came to the island for a wedding and hoped for some relaxing time as well, this place is just right, I mean perfect for that. This place is amazing.

I thought about leaving a bad review so we could have the house anytime that we wanted but I knew that would not be fair. We loved it and will definitely recommend it to everyone we know and people we don't.

Thank you for a great place.

This property is absolutely beautiful.

The moment you walk into this house, you feel how every little detail had been carefully put together to make it feel like home. The house came with everything you’d need to prepare any meal you’d like. The WiFi is high speed and the cable has movie channels. The staff is very helpful and extremely friendly, they’re more than happy to help and answer questions. The other people staying on the island are very laid back & easy going. There was no loud or unruly parties. The island itself is paradise. It’s so peaceful and serene. I loved sitting on the deck just watching the ocean and birds. The water on the west side of the island is more clear but there’s no place that you shouldn’t swim. We ate at the Boat House in our first night and since it was the off season, it’s wasnt busy. A gentleman named Fred prepared the most phenomenal steaks & he told us all about the island. He was great. We had breakfast and dinner from Mango’s which both meals were delicious. I cannot say one bad or even hint that anything was less than perfect about this trip. I can’t wait to do it again!!

Great house

  • 4 of 5

House was great, very clean and comfortable. The beach is very close to the home, just right out the back. Very pretty views from almost everywhere in the house. One thing that we didn't realize is the Master bedroom is up a spiral staircase and has no door. Not a huge deal for us - but definitely makes it less private. We had everything we needed in the house, aside from maybe a cookie sheet and a working pair of scissors - the pair provided were broken, and not having a garbage disposal was sort of a pain. It was nice to have the beach so close for walks and shell searching - but we preferred swimming on the other side of the island, as the sand was better and water was clearer. The roads on this part of the island were really torn up - HUGE mud holes you have to drive through to get anywhere w/no way to avoid them. The roads on other side of island, near the North Captiva Island Club (NCIC) were much better. BUT luckily - the golf cart provided with the house is lifted w/good tires - so we had no issues - other than a little more mud splatter than we would have liked! I will also say that the service from NCIC was just "okay". We arrived later than anticipated (late flights). When we arrived on the island (in the dark) it took 20 minutes for them to find our house key and golf cart, and we were given NO welcome information or details about the island or any details. The next day we had an issue with the water heater - I stopped in the office around lunch and asked for them to come look at it. By the evening we hadn't heard from anyone.....we called again after hours and apparently our service call was never turned in. It ended up being a flipped breaker - so we "fixed" it ourselves - but nonetheless - room for improvement.
