Great Family Vacation

  • 5 of 5

We were blown away by the cleanliness, size and views from this magnificent home. We also brought our boat and the home had a great dock with a fish cleaning station outback to keep the boat. We really enjoyed the pool and spa behind the house during the hot days. We enjoyed exploring the island by foot and golf cart. If you are looking for a memorable vacation for your family this place is a slam dunk!

Needs total updating

  • 2 of 5

Refrigerator ice maker broken, pool cold, septic system running out on ground, dirty underwear under sink in one of bathrooms smoke alarm needed batteries, pots and pans need replaced, house needs a good cleaning as once the sheet were removed in master suite stains on mattress and mattress pads. Did not receive beach chairs until last day. Game room not accessible from main house, need to be in listing especially with small children involved as it has keys to get in. The owners need to have a list of how to operate fans, a/c, pool who to call in case of emergency and overall lay of the land of the island. Also need to be advised that you can ship packages over to the island before you arrived. The only good thing is the Island is beautiful. First and last time I would visit unless fully checked out house before renting. This was a family vacation, was disappointed with the rental.

Beautiful home for family memories!

  • 5 of 5

such a convenient location for anyone with a boat! The pool area was wonderful after a fun day on the water with a beautiful downstairs wet bar and extremely efficient and comfortable kitchen and dining area upstairs! Where you can partake in beautiful views of the gulf and surrounding island. Great place to make priceless family memories. We can't wait until next time and will be sure to book this home again

Enjoyed every minute!

My family and I celebrated an important birthday on North Captiva last week at Solitude.

What a wonderful house and the accommodations were outstanding. There was nothing not to love about the house, beautifully decorated, large and comfortable, plenty of room for all of us to be together inside and out. The beds were so comfortable, the rooms were beautiful, as are all of the bathrooms. We all had an outstanding time. Each morning we would walk on the beach, coming back to Solitude having some lunch then jumping in the pool. Had a terrific golf cart adventure .... loving the fact that there were no cars. Having the dock was an additional bonus, we did not use or need the ferry.

I speak for all of us when I say we would highly recommend this home and never hesitate should we have the opportunity to return. Thank you so much Solitude for the opportunity to stay in a very special home.

We truly loved it, and hope to return again next year.

We have been staying on North Captiva, in many different homes, for about 10years. This home was perfect!!

We had a large party that arrived by boat. Having the dock right there, in a safe secure spot, that we were able to leave gear on was a wonderful convience and piece of mind. My kids even caught a huge snook and tarpon off the dock!!

The house itself was huge! Beautifully decorated and had everything we needed. So many different living areas that we never felt cramped. The kids loved the playroom! What a bonus!!

The pool and hot tub were wonderful. It is a peaceful spot on the canal and you truly feel like you have your own little slice of paradise!!

We will definitely be renting this one again!! Great find!! Definitely recommend!!

Solitude....a fisherman's paradise indeed!

  • 5 of 5

We had 2 families to start the trip, with a 3rd family joining mid-way. First off, there is plenty of room. Two families could live here, and stay out of each other's hair, if that was the goal. Between the game room, the pool, the beaches, and fishing right off the dock; the kid were in 7th-heaven! We docked 3 boats at the house, and were in and out of Safety Harbor and at world-class fishing grounds in minutes. But when you catch Snook and Tarpon right off the dock, you don't even need the boats. :-) Note: we all used Pineland Marina to put our boats in, and that was a breeze and very convenient. We took full advantage of the North Captiva Island Club facilities, and even used the Publix pre-ordering service before we arrived. We got an extra cart from NCIC and explored every bit of the island. The owners left a treasure hunt list; and it turned into a very cool multi-family competitive excursion. The house and accommodations were extremely nice, looked professionally decorated. Great selection of TV channels, wi-fi worked much better than I expected for a barrier island, neither of which are even needed when you're enjoying all this place has to offer. We've already booked again for next May. Thanks NCIC & Solitude!
