This is a great, roomy house!
We spent one week in Junonia, 4/23 to 4/29/2018. We had a great time. House is clean, new, roomy, affordable house with a lot of privacy for each bedroom. We had found all necessary tools in the kitchen.
Only dishwasher was rusty but was working properly. Also house location is excellent, maybe 3-5 minutes walk to a beautiful almost empty beach. House is surrounded by a lot of trees, so we practically did not see any neighbors. Yes, we recommend this house and we wish we could be back. Thank you!
Great updated house!! We enjoyed it's convenient location between beach and club.
Beautiful Home on Beautiful Island
Just returned from a week at the Junonia home on North Captiva Island and I wish that I had never left!
The home was just as expected. Clean and well appointed. We enjoyed each having our own bedroom and bath. The screen in huge back porch was a bonus and most nights were spent there either relaxing or playing one of the board games that were available in the home. The front porch was the perfect spot for morning coffee.
The island itself was a tropical paradise. We spent time at the pool, walking the beach and enjoying sunsets while searching for the perfect shell. We took out bikes, but went to the side of the island where the sand was deep - keep towards Barnacles side and you'll be fine! We never got to take kayaks out, but did rent a boat from Boats and Fun for the day....it was amazing!!!
This property is not beach front, but this would not keep me from booking it again. It's location is perfect! Will look forward to returning in the future.
Junonia is a lovely house in a great location on North Captiva. We were able to walk to the pool and the beach, and we also had use of the golf cart. The house was spacious and had plenty of outdoor nooks to enjoy. The water pressure in the showers is very weak, and the hot water tank is small, so we had a difficult time washing off after a day at the beach. This is a standard, comfortable house for a party of 5 or 6.
Amazing vacation on Upper Captiva
We had an amazing, relaxing vacation on the island and in this house. The house is spacious and was clean (although the cushions on the porch couch could use a good cleaning). We had ordered our groceries at the Cape Coral Publix ahead of time and everything went very smoothly. We loved having the Keurig Coffee maker in the home - made for easy coffee since we brought our own k-cups. The house is very convenient to the beach and the pool so it was easy for the kids (teens and tweens) to do either.
As others have done, I recommend more groceries, fewer clothes. Buying food on the island, whether at the restaurants or the store, is very expensive (it's an island, so getting food to the island is costly). They do offer a $30 round-trip for groceries most mornings on the 9AM boat.
We mostly hung out in bathing suits with a cover-up and there's a great washing machine and dryer, so it's easy to just wash things. You should plan to bring your own detergent - and I recommend bringing aluminum foil or parchment paper if you plan to cook in the oven (even simple things like tacos or nachos, having something to line the pan will save on cleanup!)
Great location. Peaceful and lovely beaches.
Home was nice but would benefit from a new dishwasher (rusted inside) plus oven pans not the nicest. Otherwise very comfortable home with lots of space
