About the property

2 Bedrooms, 1.5 Baths, Sleeps 6

"Driftwood", our newest property in Imperial Beach - we just completed a major remodeling project to update the kitchen, bathrooms and new flooring.

This gorgeous 2 bedroom / 1.5 bathroom town house has more than 1,200 square feet of living space, plus three balconies, a small enclosed patio and a private, secure garage. The main floor has a living room with a large flat-screen TV (including HBO & STARZ), dining room, kitchen and convenient powder room. The two bedrooms are located upstairs, each with brand new KING-size beds, closets, vaulted ceilings and balconies. The loft is accessible from one of the bedrooms and is furnished with two twin beds. The main bathroom is situated between the two bedrooms.

Please let us know if you require additional furniture for your baby or infant. We can provide a baby crib or a twin-size inflatable air mattress & a highchair, for a one time $25 setup fee.

Driftwood is across the road from the beach in “Seacoast Villas” a small complex with 10 townhouses. Each property has its own private garage with direct access to the individual units – guests can also access their unit from the second floor common area. Driftwood has lower level patio with a BBQ.

Imperial Beach: Experience a “Peaceful Easy Feeling” that won't let you down.

Imperial Beach is like no other -- a throwback to a simpler, southern California beach town of days gone by, with miles of uncrowded, white sand beaches, magnificent views of the Coronado Islands and the downtown San Diego skyline. Imperial Beach (IB) is laid back, unpretentious and has a wonderful, “small town” vibe. You’ll find everything you need within a short walk along the seacoast – beachfront parks with picnic tables and barbeques, a weekly farmer’s market (every Friday), beach volleyball nets, restaurants, waffle-cone ice cream, and retail shops. Stop by the Surf Hut (right across the street from Seacoast Villas) to rent boogie boards, surfboards, stand-up paddle boards, wetsuit, fins and bikes. Plus there are plenty more shops & restaurants along Palm Ave. Take a walk along the pier to gain a different perspective of the surfers and unrivaled views of San Diego: from Point Loma to Mexico. Extending almost 1,500 feet into the sea, the Imperial Beach Pier is also a great place to spot whales and dolphins swimming by just off-shore, or to try your luck fishing (BONUS: a license is not required for Pier fishing).

Imperial Beach is one of the most unique areas of San Diego, and lends itself to quiet getaways, family vacations and nostalgic trips down memory lane. IB is untouched by overdevelopment and void of the late-night party crowds, high density housing, congestion, traffic and parking problems often found at the beach communities to the north. When you are in IB, you’ll feel relaxed and right at home.

Just south of Imperial Beach, you’ll find the a bird watcher’s paradise beginning with the estuary (just beyond Imperial Beach Blvd, ½ mile from Seacoast Villas). Further south, you can also visit Boarder Field State Park and the Tijuana National Wildlife Refuge. Combined, the wetlands provide some of the best bird watching you’ll find in Southern California. You may be surprised to learn Imperial Beach is home to over 300 species of birds.

Imperial Beach, the southernmost beach town in California, hosts events throughout the year, but is best known for the Annual Sandcastle Competition (mid-July) and the Surf Town Triathlon (held late-August).

Although you may feel a hundred miles away from the city, downtown San Diego and the area’s top attractions are just a short drive away:

• 8 miles / 13 minutes to Coronado Island

• 15 miles / 20 minutes to downtown San Diego (including the Gaslamp Quarter, Little Italy, East Village, The Embarcadero (USS Midway Aircraft Carrier, Harbor Cruises, Maritime Museum and Seaport village), Balboa Park and the San Diego Zoo, the San Diego International Airport

• 20 miles / 25 minutes to SeaWorld

Beautiful IP Beach Rental

  • 5 of 5

Our family rented the Driftwood Unit during Spring Break. The owners are super responsive and friendly. The home is lovely and just across the street from the beach. The amenities offered were perfect for our family, from the barbecue on the small private patio the beach toys, wagon and extra towels. The welcome basket of snacks was such a nice touch, along with the binder providing information about nearby restaurants and attractions. Great place to stay!

Lovely home in brilliant location

  • 5 of 5

Next Steps: San Diego were really helpful prior to our arrival and made finding and accessing the house very easy. The house was spacious and very well equipped. Imperial Beach was a fabulous base to explore San Diego and we enjoyed chilling out there on the beach and eating out on Seacoast and Palm Avenue.

Imperial Beach Driftwood Villa

  • 4 of 5

We had a great time. The property manager was very professional and helpful.  They even called the day before to assure that I had received the door code and could get in. There was a minor issue with getting the TV/Cable/internet working and the management sent a person over right then to get it up and running.  Also, we noticed that there was a small water leak from the upstairs bathroom through the ceiling of the lower level.  When I reported that to management, they immediately contacted me for details and the owner also contacted me to get information, thank me for the report, and give instructions.  <br/>This condo is in a great location and is very nice for the price.  It is right across the street from the beach and a great surf shop.  Excellent restaurants are within easy walking distance and Coronado Island is a short drive/bike ride away.  I would recommend this condo to others and would be happy to stay there again in the future.  If you have not stayed in Imperial Beach, you are missing a super chill great place to vacation.  We stayed in Solana Beach two years ago and, while that was great, we liked Imperial Beach much more.
