We stayed 4 nights in Carmen's Cozy home. She was wonderful and so welcoming. Carmen worked hard to make sure our stay was great. The home is everything advertised. We walked to and from the ferry two different days. Each night we walked home from the ferry after 10pm. My wife and children felt very safe. I would strongly encourage anyone to stay with Carmen. Her home is so unique with many neat things about this home. Carmen has done a wonderful job decorating and updating this unique home. The only concern would be for people who have difficulty with stairs. The stair case to the 2nd floor is very steep. We had no trouble with the stairs and found the home comfortable and very clean. I will definitely stay here again. Thanks Carmen for a great place to stay.
We were on Staten Island for work and ended up staying in several locations. Carmen was far and away the kindest, most welcoming and flexible host I've ever had the pleasure of meeting. She was warm, made sure we had everything we needed, and she was great with our small dog. The unit had a lot of space and was perfect for our group. It was my husband and me, and a work colleague. We had plenty of room. There are 2 separate full baths, 2 separate kitchenette facilities, and a large shared downstairs space. The kitchenette had everything we needed to prep meals. The upstairs has an awesome little terrace overlooking a deep treed lot. The neighborhood is urban, walkable and you can get to the ferry, restaurants and Snug Harbor. There's even a grocery store on the corner. We will be back this winter. Oh ... and parking is easy. Thanks Carmen!
I have rented this property for Gay Pride weekend. I have to strongly disagreed with the 6 women above. The house was very clean and did not smell of mold .As far as the neighborhood .....its not bad at all .We walked to and from the Staten Island Ferry ( which was great becuse it saved us money). We did not have any problems. I would rent again.
6 of us rented this home including two teens and two children. I loved it. Minutes to the ferry with a short ride to nyc. The home itself is perfect for us non stuffy people. I found the neighborhood fine and never had a fear of safety. it is a very diverse neighborhood with friendly and helpful families. I loved all the details and history that is in the home. we had everything we needed and Carmen was right next door if we needed ANYTHING. Carmen you are an awesome host!! I cant wait to come back. Six women rented this property for two days. Upon arrival Carmen met us outside and showed us the property. She was accommodating and helpful. The property appeared as it does in the pictures on the interior. There was a smell of mold that was effecting several women who have allergies. The neighborhood is very unsafe. We asked Carmen if it was safe to walk there after dark and she advised against it. We all agreed for several reasons that we would leave. Be aware of this if you are interested in this property.
