Simone Pierattoni purchased this apartment in 2006
This is simply the best area for tourism, it's centrally located but also very quiet.
Just open the window, you can see the david in front of the Uffizi !
We stayed in the Ponte Vecchio apartment over the Christmas and New Year holiday in December. The apartment location is amazing -- the best that we've had in three trips to Florence. We stayed for 10 nights with our good friends (two adult couples). The apartment is much larger than we ever expected and the two bedrooms are both large, the baths are nice. The view over the Arno is amazing to wake up to every morning and we had a great time experiencing the fun of New Year's Eve fireworks over the river. We also used the carpark a block away, which was really convenient. The apartment was really fabulous and Simone was such a help to us with our lost luggage, late arrival on Christmas Eve, and arranging airport transfers. We hope to return soon and would definitely stay here again. It is beautiful!
When communicating with Simon the only thing that I asked was that the apartment be clean. It was clear upon arrival that it had not been cleaned in a long long time. The refrigerator had so much ice in it that you couldn't even see the ice cube tray so I defrosted it. The couch is very dirty so his solution was to drape a throw over it.The bathroom with the walk-in shower had so much black mold in it it was disgusting. The water heater was leaking so there was water all over the kitchen floor so I put a pitcher underneath to catch the water. I unfortunately had to use about six towels to mop up the water on the floor which was filthy. This could be a really nice apartment but apparently it's rented back to back all the time so it is never cleaned. When Simon came at the end to calculate the utilities we tried to speak with him indicating that we shouldn't be responsible for utilities used because his appliances were not working properly. He was infuriated and left in a storm. We left a check for the utilities minus what we felt was used because of the heater situation. I was never told what to do with the keys so I emailed him that we were leaving one set under the mat and one set in the foyer. I think he was infuriated because he knows the place is not up to par. When we came back from an overnight to Venice there was a package from him with wine, pasta, some cookies and a note indicating a free week rental in the future. I do you don't know why with a potentially great space that you would let it totally run down. Simon was not available the first day of our rental. He arranged at a cost for one of his colleagues to pick us up at the airport. An older gentleman( who the driver said was the owner) then entered the vehicle enroute and brought us up to the apartment. He was very nice but obviously didn't know anything about the apartment.
The apartment is nice but maintenance is awful. Previous tenants had left bathroom items in shower and shower was mouldy and the kitchen plates and utensils were dirty. Had to clean it all before using. Washing machine worked but there were plastics components broken on it. Plugged kettle into wall and the whole switchboard popped out. Door handles fell off doors. There were other peoples underwear left in drawers. Such a shame because it's a nice apartment. Overpriced for the condition.
Great location in Florence. Plenty of room for two couples. Owner very responsive to needs of renters.
We stayed in this apartment for 4 days recently and found it to have been a great choice. Simone met us upon our arrival and saw that everything was in order. Kitchen was well equipped along with all the staples. Rooms were large and beds comfortable.
Close to Ponte Veccio and other attractions in Florence.
Would recommend to others.
We booked this apartment for the first 3 nights of our nearly month-long holiday. We're from the US and we were meeting up with a friend from Amsterdam-- and we knew we would have different schedules for recovering from jet lag. The two 1-bedroom suites divided by the living area was the perfect option for us.
The apartment is SO roomy, and SO beautiful, and SO comfortable, and perfectly located! The large windows facing east gave beautiful breezes, and our position above a gelateria and right on the Arno facing the Ufizzi could not be beat. We really enjoyed exploring the Oltarno as well as all the attractions across the river. And when we just wanted to relax, we loved the view on the river and watching the sculls from the rowing club directly across. The AC was appreciated at night as it as hot when we visited Florence.
Simone was easy to work with and even offered to allow us to check in a bit early rather than having to wait --and was able to accommodate our luggage for awhile before our train on the last day. The apartment had everything we needed and more. We would recommend the apartment to anyone, and would definitely stay here again if we find our way back to magical Florence.
The owner was professional and very helpful. The location was excellent with a river view, all what you need is to open the window to enjoy the view. The apartment was specious and clean. You will not regret the stay.
