Simone Pierattoni purchased this apartment in 2006
This is simply the best area for tourism, it's centrally located but also very quiet.
Just open the window, you can see the david in front of the Uffizi !
We stayed in the Ponte Vecchio apartment over the Christmas and New Year holiday in December. The apartment location is amazing -- the best that we've had in three trips to Florence. We stayed for 10 nights with our good friends (two adult couples). The apartment is much larger than we ever expected and the two bedrooms are both large, the baths are nice. The view over the Arno is amazing to wake up to every morning and we had a great time experiencing the fun of New Year's Eve fireworks over the river. We also used the carpark a block away, which was really convenient. The apartment was really fabulous and Simone was such a help to us with our lost luggage, late arrival on Christmas Eve, and arranging airport transfers. We hope to return soon and would definitely stay here again. It is beautiful!
This property was wonderful! It was in a perfect spot, so close to everything with a great view of the river, the Ufizi, etc. It was very large and spacious, we stay here with 6 people and all were very comfortable. Great wi-fi and a couple of gelato places just a few steps from the from door!
A well appointed, very clean apartment in Florence - in a very quaint/luxurious building with spectacular views to the Ponti Vechio. Easy access to all the tourist sites of Florence are within walking distance. Great restaurants are only a few blocks away. The old world charm of this apartment is magnificent and very spacious. Great gelato is right next door! or just across the street. Would definitely recommend this apartment to anyone going to Florence.
I cannot say enough about the quality of stay we had at this location. The view was 100% fantastic, and the location is perfection. Great restaurants, gelato, a grocery store, cute shops, (did I mention gelato?) all very close to the unit. The large windows over looking the Ponte Vecchio really made it for me. I couldn't get enough of the sights and sounds of Firenze!! The rooms are HUGE. Beds are comfy. I loved that there were 2 full bathrooms. The kitchen was perfect, not that we wanted to cook in often, but even preparing appetizers and such, you have everything you need! The washer could probably be replaced, but we all packed enough for an army so no big deal! Also, there is a Laundromat close by with dryers as well...no big deal to drop off and have some vino a few steps away while you wait! I cannot WAIT to go back!
We’ve just returned from a spectacular week in Florence. This apartment was such a lucky find. It is located on the Piazza di Santa Maria Sopr’Arno in the hip, left bank Oltrarno neighborhood of Florence (lacking the tourists, but enjoying the benefits of terrific restaurants and stores at reasonable prices). We were treated to completely unobstructed views of the Uffizi Gallery and the Ponte Vecchio across the Arno from our spacious two bedroom second floor apartment in a charming old Florentine apartment building. Were someone to offer its equivalent in New York City overlooking the Metropolitan Museum or in Paris overlooking the Seine, one would expect to pay many times what we paid for this spot. We also saved by not having to pay enormous premiums at not-so-great tourist trap restaurants with a view of the Arno by having our own private table with a view. In the morning, we would buy fresh bread and pastries down the street, brew coffee, open the huge French windows and watch members of the Florence Boat Club launch their boats while we ate breakfast. Most nights we ate out after a glass of wine from the wonderful wine store in our piazza, but the couple of times we ate in we found cooking to be an easy in the apartment’s kitchen. The grocery store down the block had both the basics and gourmet food. It was about a 10 minute walk across the Ponte Vecchio to the Uffizi, about the same in the other direction across Ponte alle Grazie to Santa Croce and a few minutes south to the Pitti Palace. A variety of family-owned neighborhood trattorias made dinner an easy undertaking. The selection of good, reasonably priced Tuscan wines available at all the local restaurants took the stress out of wine selection.
As to the comment from someone about a “recycling plant down the street” (which almost turned me off to the rental), the reviewer was misrepresenting the situation and should have checked his facts. All neighborhoods in Florence have large public garbage receptacles every few blocks and this neighborhood is no exception. Early morning garbage pick-up is a part of life in any city. If you are unable to sleep with typical big city noise, bring along a set of earplugs. I am a light sleeper, but had no problems sleeping because I was tired after a long day of sight seeing followed by delicious Florentine food and wine.
I suspect this apartment will be sold in the near
This was a perfect location for my family of four. The location was central to everything and an easy walk to just about any place you'd want to be in Florence. The apartment was nicely furnished with florentine style furniture so you could almost imagine Nobel's living their once. The beds were very comfortable and the kitchen was well equipped. Each bedroom had a nicely sized private bathroom. The view was spectacular--we loved opening the windows very morning and looking across the Arno to the Uffizi. The neighborhood was great (grocery just down the street), we felt like we were living in Florence. We stayed at the apartment the last week of December (over New Years) and as NYE approached the streets did get a little noisy. My husband wore ear plugs and he was fine---didn't even notice and neither did the college age kids. Though after NYE the streets were pretty calm and the noise issue subsided. I think the apartment, the building, the view, and the neighborhood is well worth putting up with a little noise. Also, our host Simone was extremely accommodating when our flight was delayed or when we had any questions (he texted back to me immediately). He also helped arrange a car to take us on a day tour of Tuscany. I would highly recommend this apartment.
This was the perfect place from which to base our week in Florence. We opened the giant windows to look at the Uffizzi, and were treated to almost nightly entertainment from the parties across the river (fireworks, singing, a floating fountain). The gelato shop underneath the bedroom is the best in Florence with flavors like Tumeric/Fig or Pineapple/Mint/Ginger. As stated before, the street is loud, so it is difficult to sleep with the windows open, but, to me, the positives of the apartment outweigh the noise issue.
