Our hearts were won after parking and pausing at the blue gate, where we lingered before even passing through to the beautifully planted courtyard. The latter became our favorite spot for morning coffee and late afternoon reflections on the day. It didn't hurt that the season offered the blazing orange of pyrocanthus berries, the shimmering yellow of aspen leaves just turning, and the red of the Virginia Creeper twining here and there. Even the ornamental grasses were "in bloom," and hummingbirds regularly hovered at the porch feeder.

Yes, we did spend time inside this lovely casa, where every comfort and convenience was provided for relaxing, cooking, and sleeping. The art work from Alexander Anthony's Adobe Gallery enhanced this rich interior environment.

For planning our days, the collection of brochures and local magazines was richly supplemented by excellent tips and guidance from both Mr. Anthony and Todd. Inspired by the cool evenings to light our kiva, we were grateful when Todd provided kindling, paper, and fragrant pinon, as well as new lighters! Wondering where to eat, how to find the best spot for catching the shuttle, where the neighborhood coffee house is? Todd will lead you there!

While this was the perfect location for venturing further into and out of the city, perhaps the greatest pleasure was that feeling of being IN a walkable neighborhood and the growing familiarity with Canyon Rd., Asequia Madre, and all the lovely cross streets!

We are so grateful to our generous and charming hosts and do hope to visit again!

Perfect in Every Way!

  • 5 of 5

Looking for the perfect Santa Fe retreat? Look no further; this is the one. We have rented through VRBO in the US and Europe never to be disappointed but Garcia Street far exceeds expectations. The blue door transports one to a beautifully landscaped yard with a tranquil fountain. The interior is spotlessly clean, tastefully furnished, fully equipped for every need and lovely Santa Fe inspired art work on loan from Adobe Gallery. The location is ideal for walking to galleries, the Plaza, restaurants and a very chic local grocery store.

We are looking forward to our next stay this coming summer but are even happier to see the Anthonys again. What delightful, gracious hosts!. Santa Fe is charming but we will return because of our accommodating hosts.

Thank you for everything

Ideal Vacation Rental for Reuniting with College Friends

  • 5 of 5

Three college friends and I so enjoyed our long weekend together in this beautiful Santa Fe home. Everything about the home met or exceeded my expectations based on the description and photos presented. The outside spaces are gorgeous with comfortable seating. We loved watching birds in the rock fountain, admired the lush landscaping as we ate breakfast each morning. The layout of the house worked very well for four adults. We had plenty of drawer/closet space to unpack and really feel at home. Living area with two large loveseats was perfect for late night wine and conversation and we liked having a compact, well-equipped kitchen with lots of natural light. Everything we needed was provided, even a good bottle of wine. Each room was nicely decorated with pretty linens, wonderful art and was immaculately clean. The owner was very accomodating to our needs, was always available and gave some great suggestions on restaurants, etc. I would absolutely recommend this rental in the perfect Santa Fe location and hope to be able to stay in Casa Garcia again soon.

On a side street off the base of Canyon Road with a short walk to the Plaza. Very clean, well-maintained and cozy! Easy terms and very nice owner who works and lives nearby.

A Respite in the Center of Things

  • 5 of 5

Walking through the blue gate, we first walked into a special outdoor space - aspen, green grass, stone walk, small colorful birds and flowers, not to mention the gentle lilt of a fountain. The place begins to win you over before you enter the home itself and we spent lots of time outside. Then walking through a blue door, we soon were cozy in the clean adobe home, with every amenity we could think of, interesting Santa Fe-flavored art, plus peace and quiet to read and sleep by. Thus renewed by the place, we wandered in and out of the blue door and gate to enjoy the rich art and food of Santa Fe, some of the best of which was an easy walk. Add in a knowledgeable, unobtrusive host nearby and what more could you ask? Best we keep this place a secret!

Owner's Response: We enjoy having such pleasant couples stay with us. They are no trouble and require no special favors. And it is especially pleasing when they enjoy themselves as this couple did.
