|Minimum Stay||2 nights|
I have hosted hundreds of happy guests from around the world in this apartment for about 2 years now.
You will be in the very center of Shibuya, perhaps Tokyo's most popular area for shopping and nightlife. My apartment is a great place to relax after a busy day while enjoying an excellent view of the city from a dozen stories high.
This is a typical Japanese apartment with a basic kitchen, a bath, shower, toilet, and fridge. It is a private apartment in a business/residential building in a commercial area of Shibuya.
The apartment is very secure, with 24 hour surveillance and a security desk downstairs.
Also, even though you will have the place to yourself, we will be close by to help you if you have any questions or need advice or assistance.
* POCKET WIFI - A personal portable router to carry around Tokyo
* clean linens and fresh bath and face towels
* rice cooker
* equipped mini-kitchen
I provide a custom-made area guide that I created specifically for my own Travelmob guests. It includes useful info on some of the best places to eat, shop and drink around the neighborhood, with more of an emphasis on hidden gems that only the locals know about. It was created with care based on several years experience in the city. In addition to Shibuya, I've also made guides for Harajuku and Aoyama if you'd like to explore those areas as well. And if you have any specific interest or eating preferences that I didn't include, feel free to ask me anything!
Located on Shibuya's popular Dogenzaka street, you will be in the very center of the hustle and bustle of the mega-hub that is Shibuya. You will have immediate access to Shibuya's best bars, clubs, restaurants and shopping centers. The apartment is spacious, modern and furnished with everything you need. It's a great place to relax while taking a break from the craziness of Shibuya. You can enjoy an excellent view of the city from 11 stories high.
Shibuya station is a five minute walk away, with direct access to both major airports. The best way to travel is to take the limousine bus straight from the airport, and just walk directly to the apartment a few minutes from the bus.
Other Things to Note
A note about number of guests/sleeping arrangements:
This apartment can handle up to 5 people but it is ideal for 1 - 4 people. The bed can fit 2 people, the sofa-bed can fit two and there's also a futon that can be set up for 1 person. With the futon set up on the floor the room can feel quite crowded, so 2 people sharing the bed and/or sofa-bed is recommended.
I have hosted many groups of 5 without much trouble. They have mostly been people wanting to save money while still having a place to sleep in an excellent location. They also tend to spend most of their time exploring the city and use the flat mostly for sleeping.
If you have any questions about the apartment and the number of guests in your group, feel free to ask.
House Rules: I really want you to have a comfortable stay here at my apartment. Just so I can continue to offer my flat to future guests, I ask that:
1. Please remove your shoes before entering the apartment. It's a big deal in Japan!
2. No smoking in the room or leaning out the window. There are smoking areas just outside the building.
3. Please keep the noise level low after 10pm so as not to disturb the neighbors.
4. Have fun!
Place was perfect but the building was old a little. However I could finish all my suchedule in Shibuya.
My son and I had a lovely time at Micah's apartment for 10 days. The location is absolutely perfect for going around Tokyo and it was much quieter than I expected, considering how central the location was. The view overlooking the majority of central Tokyo was also excellent.
Great place to stay. Micah was responsive to any requests I had. The apartment is located close to Shibuya station and in the heart of a very active part of the city. It was great to walk out the front door and dive into the city.
The apartment is compact which was fine for me as I was traveling alone, but would be tough for anything more than a couple. If you're tall like me it'll take some getting used to the bathroom, but I found that to be true of everywhere in Japan.
It was a wonderful stay. Very sincere & friendly host and great location.
Great location - very central to everything. Apartment whilst very cosy for 4 people, was very clean a great base to access Tokyo. Nice little welcoming touches too :)
I have stayed there for 5 days with my wife, on a vacation trip.
Location for this apartment is great. It's in the heart of Shibuya, an easy walking distance from the station and easy access. Apartment is small according to our non-Japanese standard and we were prepared for it. It's all clean and the apartment matches point by point the internet description. We ended up paying more there that we would have elsewhere in Shibuya, but still, not a big deal.
What was very disappointing was the noise the neighbors did at night. We had a drunk guy who knocked at next door for 20 minutes, before knocking at our own door! The night after, a party went on in the building and we had to listen to loud music for a while. That's 2 nights out of 5, not a very good record.
The other issue is the fact that Micah is asking us to be very secretive towards anybody in the building. He asked us several time not to tell anyone that we were renting the apartment, just to say that we were Micah's friend. He told us : if you need to sign the book at security, just say you are visiting Micah. Unfortunately, we never met Micah, who was on a trip during our stay and who did not deliver towels as he promised he would do.
We complained to Micah about that. And we asked him (or her), to leave one day earlier, and to be refund for that day. There was no flexibility at all from his part. It been very frustrating to deal with this person.
There are plenty of apartment to rent in Shibuya. Make sure you reserve one where dealing with the owner is easy. I do not recommend this one.
