3 bedrooms, and a basement dedicated to a kids sleeping & playroom. The upstairs has two master bedrooms, each with private adjacent bathrooms and walk-in closets. One has a bathtub, one has multijet sprayers in the oversize shower.
Main floor has one smaller bedroom with a futon bed and nearby half bathroom.
Kitchen is brand new, gourmet, top of the range oven, open plan spilling out to the main living area. We've attempted to provide most appliances/gadgetry you'd need including 2 coffee makers (for decaf and regular), a mixer, blender, food processor, and all the ammentities for cooking beautiful food (or leave it and just order out!).
The backside of the house looks out onto Washington pond, and the house is structured with windows all along the backside for continual views.
Two decks -- one off the kitchen is a screened in porch with outdoor grill that is hardwired to a gasline with a nice outdoor dining table that easily seats 6. The other deck, running along the length of the house, is straight off the back, overlooking the lake, open air with outdoor seats, and with stairs leading straight out to the lake.
Nightingale House is our dream home in Maine. After vacationing there for years, we knew we wanted a home there -- the pond is an absolute gem. The house was built new in 2008 and hasn't been lived in steadily. All the furnishings are new with an eye toward modern styling and lake living. The home's amenities are carefully chosen - a well outfitted kitchen with quality pots, dishes, and appliances, space to relax on 3 levels, and a firepit by the lake designed for magical family evenings, personal wellness retreats, and memorable conversations with friends. The cottage includes a boat launch, though you will need to rent your own canoe or kayak. Not far offshore is a little island, wonderful for sailing past and spying on wildlife.
This is one of the most incredible homes we've ever experienced, and we are delighted to make our home yours. Enjoy 400 thread count sheets, cozy duvets with sateen covers, waffles in the morning, and a view year-round that takes your breath away.
We had a fabulous time during our stay here. Everything was perfect. Clean as a whistle. The Washington General Store is down the road and the owners are wonderful.
We really enjoyed staying in this property. We used this house as a base to travel around Maine and it was a great location relatively close to the coastal towns.
Great property; clean, modern, and very comfortable! Washington Pond is quite large - don't think pond - think lake. :) Property owner and manager were great to work with!
We loved staying in this home! It was more than enough space for my wife & me, our daughter, son and our longtime friends. With two master suites, the adults were upstairs while my daughter had her own room on the main floor and my son had the run of the large basement. The home is well furnished and extremely comfortable. The lake is beautiful and very private. We could see and hear the loons throughout our stay!
My family of 5, two adults and 3 young adults, had a terrific stay. The kitchen is incredibly well equipped, making meal prep very comfortable. The screened-in porch was a huge perk. We enjoyed several meals there bug-free. We rented kayaks and spent lots of time on the water. It's a lovely spot for water activities. And it's just a short drive to great art galleries and the Farnsworth Museum in Rockland.
The house is understated in the photos. You might think that because the pictures are of the awesome kitchen that the rest of the house might be questionable . I assure you, that is not the case. It was a very nice house throughout and the layout was great. I found the home owner and property manager extremely friendly and welcoming. In my opinion, the location in Washington is perfect. It puts you in between Portland and Bar Harbor. There a ton of things to do in close proximity and it is nice to be out of the chaos. Would stay there again in a heart beat.
