Welcome to Coconut Row Guest House! Our beachfront villa is right on the Caribbean beach in the heart of the Garifuna village of Hopkins, Belize.
We are located directly in the center of the village, within walking distance of all Hopkins’ restaurants, bars, stores, cafes, and other attractions. But you’d never know it while relaxing on our beach, which confers a high degree of privacy and solitude. Right next to the villa lies beautiful shaded seating area under the coconut trees, perfect for a bbq or reading a book. Eat or drink all the coconuts you like - they're delicious!
This two bedroom villa is right on top of the sea! It has a deck attached to the living area which opens to a private beach, as well as a tiled verandah on top of the house. There is a kitchen area, a living area, two bedrooms and a bathroom. Our cleaner will come in every day to clean the villa.
The front bedroom has a full size bed and receives an incredibly strong sea breeze in addition to a ceiling fan and an air conditioner. The rear bedroom has two single beds, a ceiling fan and an air conditioner. The kitchen has a stove and oven, microwave, refrigerator, all pots and cooking utensils necessary for meal preparation, a coffee maker, plates, glasses, silverware, and a dining table. The living area has a ceiling fan, coffee table and chairs, as well as a flat screen tv with HBO and many premium channels (HBO, Showtime, Cinemax, etc.)
We provide lounge chairs, beach towels and wireless internet free of charge to our guests, and there are laundry and transportation services available, as well as bicycles for those who wish to ride through the village. The beach is raked and maintained and the villa is cleaned every day. We always have staff on the premises for assistance and security.
We offer transportation to/from the International Airport, Dangriga Airstrip or any other location. We can help arrange any tour or activity, and there is a lot to do!
Dive, snorkel or fish the world’s second largest barrier reef, explore the many Mayan ruins, hike through the rainforest and swim in spectacular waterfalls, go cave tubing or cave exploring, ride through the jungle on horseback, canoe or kayak down the river, learn about Mayan and Garifuna culture, go birdwatching, take a pleasure/snorkeling cruise on a catamaran, search for manatees… this is just a sample of the incredible number of things there are to do here! We can help you do them all!

About Damian Grieco
I have been living in Hopkins (the same property) since 2003. I married a wonderful woman from Hopkins (Nisha) several years ago and we have a 5 year old daughter named Inaya and a 9 month old son named Callan. This is our sixth year as a guest house, and we are loving it!
Damian Grieco purchased this Apartment in 2011
Why Damian Grieco chose Hopkins
This property is perfect; right in the center of the village and an easy walk to most places in town. Even so, the property is quiet and the beach is one of the nicest in the village.
What makes this Apartment unique
Most of the nicer vacation rentals (or nicer beaches) are in the 'resort area' which is outside of Hopkins Village, and which requires a car to go anywhere.

The very best!
Beach front apartment with roof top deck. Beautiful views and area. Everything was better than expected and owners and staff made our vacation perfect. The Sunrise Suite was ideal for family and would also work for two couples. Bikes, tours, snorkeling all available through Coconut Row. Fantastic all around!
Cozy place on the beach
This is a great little place located right on the beach, perfect for up to four people. The facilities are a little older than some, but kept up immaculately by the great crew at Coconut Row. Speaking of the crew, they are all wonderful, and made every effort to make us feel at home. A few of the highlights:
The beach is kept meticulously clean and swept, unlike some properties further down the row. And when you're not in the sand enjoying it, be sure to check it out from the private roof top. A great place to watch the sun rise!
There is a newly-opened outdoor bar on the premises that serves snacks at night and breakfast in the morning that shouldn't be missed. On check-in, each guest receives a coconut with its top cut off and some rum added to the coconut water inside. And if you're a coconut lover (like me) you absolutely MUST try the Toasted Coconut Colada - pure heaven!
As mentioned before, the staff are amazing. Kyra in the front office will arrange for whatever you need, from laundry to snorkeling trips, making your stay effortless. Be sure to harass her for me - just be ready to get some back. Damian, the owner, is never far away and will also make sure everything is to your liking. The facilities are nice, but the staff make it great. You will be spoiled!
My two sisters and I stayed in the Sunrise Suite in mid Dec 2017 and it was perfect for our birthday getaway. The staff was so accommodating and a pleasure to work with; the locals were awesome; and there were several great restaurant options. We will miss all the friends we made, and I would definitely recommend this place for anyone who just wants to relax and become part of the Belize culture.
Beautiful spot and great people
We really loved our stay at Coconut Row!! The people who work there (Kyra, Damian, Tanisha, Matthew and Andre) just make it all work. Always with a smile, always around to chat with and made us feel at home. We loved our little house on the ocean (yes truly steps from the ocean) - two porches that face the ocean (watching the sunrise over the ocean with your coffee and the sunset with your Belkin beer on the roof). We loved our beach (cleaned daily by Matthew and Andre). We loved all of the sweet dogs that follow you everywhere in town. We took advantage of all of the trips offered and arranged by the folks at Coconut Row. All of the trips were fun, amazing and authentic - especially our cooking class that was done by Kyra's mom, our snorkeling trip that was through Noaelle's and run by Bert, the chocolate tour in the Mayan village, our great Sailing trip! Just a note: Hopkins is a small authentic Belize town. We found it really friendly but folks do not have a lot money. You are not in a walled off resort. So you have to expect that the beaches (not ours) have trash on them. If you want pristine surroundings - Hopkins might not be for you. If you want friendly people, authentic Garifuna culture, and a great place to stay in the middle of it all - then Coconut Row is the best!!
Ocean front and close to the store!
We had a wonderful time. This was our first time in Hopkins. It was easy to find, parking was not a problem and the store was a very quick walk. We booked a fishing trip and that was amazing. We even got to eat the fish we caught. I would highly recommend staying here. The kitchen was decked out with all the supplies you would need. It even has things I don't have in my own house!
Best vacation ever!
Our first visit to Belize was perfect thanks to Coconut Row! The Sunrise Suite was a wonderful home away from home. The staff went above and beyond in keeping it clean daily -- even picking up after us! Kyra was the absolute best when we needed anything or had any questions. Our vacation was beyond perfect. Many days we just lounged around reading or simply listening to the ocean waves. We went snorkeling and toured Xunantunich (which Kyra organized for us) and also spent a few hours in Placencia. There are a lot of restaurants within walking distance. Our favorites were Luba Laruga, Thongs, Geckos, and Driftwood. Although everywhere we ate was fabulous.
We really fell in love with Hopkins and were able to see several other vacation rentals along our many beach walks but I must say we chose the best one with Coconut Row!
Dive, snorkel or fish the world’s second largest barrier reef, explore the many Mayan ruins, hike through the rainforest and swim in spectacular waterfalls, go cave tubing or cave exploring, ride through the jungle on horseback, canoe or kayak down the river, learn about Mayan and Garifuna culture, go birdwatching, take a pleasure/snorkeling cruise on a catamaran, search for manatees…
