Guestbook comments from the manager

We came from Kansas, Minnesota, and Texas to enjoy a family gatheriung in beautiful Estes Park. This was our second year in 726 and again it worked perfectly for our needs. We have been vacationing in and around Estes for over 40 years, so it is a sure thing that we'll return again and again. Thanks for everything!!

35th Anniversary Estes Park Trip

  • 5 of 5

We enjoyed our stay at this beautiful Black Canyon home. It's close to the grocery store & coffee shop, and convenient to Rocky Mtn National park & other scenic areas. The kitchen, bathrooms & sleeping areas are perfect for sharing with 3 families. We only had 6 people, so we had ample room. It was clean & well supplied. It felt like our home away from home!

Perfect property for a Estes Park reunion trip

  • 5 of 5

We stayed in this beautiful Black Canyon home in mid June 2016, as our family gathered in Estes Park for a family reunion. It is a lovely home with ample space to accommodate more than one family. It is beautifully decorated with upscale furnishings. The kitchen had ample space, more than adequate furnishings and was even stocked well with some cooking essentials, such as spices, coffee filters, paper products and more. Granite countertops finished off the beautiful space in this lovely kitchen. Seating for 9 people to dine, plus a breakfast dining set on the deck.

There are actually three different social areas in this home, which made space for both our teens and our toddlers. The main living area was a bit small with limited seating, but it was open to the kitchen, so the space was certainly adequate. Although we did not use the televisions on this getaway, there was a television in practically every room. The beds were very comfortable. Entire home was clean and well-maintained.

The home is located at the back of the complex and was very quiet, with a beautiful view of the mountains from the deck. The deck had multiple chairs and a very nice gas grill, which we did utilize.

The management company representative (Steve) was very easy to work with and quickly responded to any questions that we had, even after we were at the property. The home is located very close to the large Safeway store and the downtown area. Many of the group that we were with stayed at the YMCA camp and it was just a 10-15 minute drive. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in Estes Park and highly recommend this property.

Beautiful Home in a Great location!

  • 5 of 5

This cabin was beautiful and in a great location. Walking distance to town, yet far enough away to feel secluded. The views were great and we saw deer and elk everyday wondering around the property. We enjoyed watching the birds feed from the bird house on the porch. This cabin is very close to the park entrance and within walking distance of grocery, restaurants and shopping, there is even a Starbucks within walking distance, which was a nice afternoon treat after hiking in the cooler elevations.

The cabin was clean and very nicely decorated, with plenty of space for my family to spread out and have their own privacy when needed.

Some trails that we would recommend are - Bear lake trailhead, which led to Nymph, Dream and Emerald Lakes as well as Alberta Falls. This entire hike was amazing. We also enjoyed Andrew's Glacier, we actually saw snow as we neared the top of the glacier. We loved the hike to Blue Lake, it was a tough hike but worth the effort. We saw Moose, Pika and Marmots on this hike, as well as several beautiful lakes and streams.

We also hiked Alberta Glacier, which was a beautiful hike. Again, the weather was chilly toward the top, but well worth the hike.

You cannot appreciate the Rocky Mountains and the surrounding parks unless you adventure out. The best views are seen from trails. Make sure you hike. :) The cabin was always a restful place to return to after a long day of exploring.

We would recommend this cabin for your trip.

Owner's Response: Thanks for staying with us. It is truly amazing how beautiful Estes Park is and how quickly you can get away from it all even when it is close by.

Wonderful get away

  • 5 of 5

We stayed here with our family and grandchildren. The beds were comfortable and there was a well supplied kitchen. They also left some children movies to watch on the downstairs VCR and DVD player. We took the advise of "Hiker" and opened the windows early to cool the place off and close the shades during the day. I could walk or make a quick drive to twin owls for a short hike without driving into the park. It is an easy walk to the grocery store and downtown but yet feels secluded and quiet. Looking forward to coming back next year.

Beautiful home with a great view.

  • 5 of 5

My family stayed here in August. It was a wonderful home. Prefect location for trips to town and the RMNP. Many hummingbirds and even had Elk in the back yard. The kitchen was very nice and the beds were comfortable. We would definitely recommend this home to anyone who is planning a trip to Estes park.

Black Canyon review

  • 4 of 5

We enjoyed our time in Estes Park at your home. Thank you for your hospitality.

Pros: Location is conveniently behind Stanley/Safeway, House is clean, updated and well maintained. There are plenty of bed and bathrooms, both upstairs beds are comfy, extra pillows, sheets and blankets are provided in closets, a box fan was provided which we put to good use in afternoons (No A/C and it can heat up during the day), nice W/D in unit upstairs, garage parking for 2 cars. There is a TV in each room, loft and basement area. Balcony off one of upstairs bedrooms has amazing views.

Cons: bunk beds in basement room are cheap/uncomfortable and shake when kids move the slightest bit. No one could sleep well on top bunk so we ended up with one kid up in our bed. The balcony on the main level has a very cute log cabin/birdhouse. Unfortunately, it's screwed into the balcony railing and blocks the GORGEOUS view of Long's Peak if you're sitting in front of it. We still enjoyed our balcony and the views, though and worked around it :) I would recommend the owners move this log birdhouse to the right so that it only blocks the view of the neighbors to the right kitchen window instead. There are very few extra supplies provided. I would prefer an small increase in rental fees for the convenience of having plentiful paper towels, kitchen trash bags, dishwasher detergent, soap, shampoo, etc. Luckily, Safeway is close and convenient for these basics. Neighbors were super close so when they don't follow the rules about parking in garage or designated parking area by dumpster it can make navigating out to the road difficult. This was only a problem a couple of the days.

Overall, we were pleased with this home. The lovely Shutterfly book with pictures of hikes in RMNP provided by the owner was enjoyed, but captions below pics telling the names of the hikes would be even better! Maybe next time you are there you can even label neatly with a sharpie under the pics.

Thank you for sharing your home!

Owner's Response: Thanks so much for staying in our home. We appreciate your feedback. We do try to strike a balance between price and items provided. With there being such a vast array of tastes, allergies, personal needs, etc. it is impossible to anticipate what guests may want to use for personal care. We do provide enough basic necessities to get people started but sometimes peoples rate of consumption is beyond what we anticipated. We do work hard to provide a comfortable and family oriented place for our guests. I hope you visit us again.
