About the property

House, 4 Bedrooms, 3 Baths, (Sleeps 12)

This high-end luxury vacation rental with a private hot tub is great for one or more families. It has a prime location near world-class Tahoe Donner cross country skiing and the Equestrian Center.

The entry level features a master suite with a queen bed, 32-inch Samsung flat screen TV and a full bathroom with dual sinks, a jetted tub and a private entrance to the front deck.

There is a family room with a large sectional sofa, bean bags, and a 60-inch Sony WEGA TV plus Dish Network, a DVD/stereo system, lots of board games for families and kids alike, and a bumper pool table.

The entry level also features a laundry room with a washer and dryer, a half bath, and a kitchen with a large walk-in pantry, granite counters, stainless steel appliances, a wine cooler, and a panoramic-view dining room with seating for eight plus bar seating for four.

This stylish vacation rental features a dual living room with comfortable leather furnishings and a fireplace.

There is a large deck with views of the Sierras, seating for four, and a propane grill. Take a soak in the hot tub to ease sore muscles after a day full of activity.

The second level of the home features a loft with twin bunk beds and a twin trundle (total sleeping for three, an alcove with a twin trundle bed (sleeping for two), and a kid's play area (note - room does NOT have door).

There is a second master bedroom on the second floor as well with a queen bed, flat-screen Samsung TV, a large walk-in closet, a deck, and a full bath with a whirlpool tub. There are also two more queen bedrooms and a full bath on the second level.

The second level has a second washer and dryer and a wet bar with a mini fridge. There is also a crib available and a high chair, plus additional blow-up mattress.

Some amenities of this vacation rental include WiFi, and access to Tahoe Donner amenities (for a nominal fee) including a recreation center with a work-out facility, pools, downhill ski area (perfect for teaching kids!), a cross country ski area, an equestrian center, a tennis center, an 18-hole golf and driving range, hiking, and so much more!

Be aware that it is a Tahoe Donner rule that up to eight people per household may use the facilities at a time. This home provides two passes (the Tahoe Donner home maximum), which allow four people each to use a pass per day. If you have more than eight guests staying at Stockholm Luxury Retreat, they will not all be able to visit the Tahoe Donner centers together. However, downtown Truckee, nearby public resorts, and the home itself all allure with an array of amenities for everyone in your party to enjoy!

The house is minutes from downtown Truckee and approximately 20 minutes to Sugarbowl ski area, 30 mins to Squaw, 15 mins to Northstar, and 40 mins to Lake Tahoe.

(Please note that this house does not allow smoking or pets. Any evidence of pets or smoking at the house will result in a fine. Also, the use of Tahoe Donner HOA facilities requires additional daily fees.

Nice house

  • 5 of 5

The house is huge. Its a shame only 12 people as allowed. It can easily accommodate 16. The fireplace was a favorite for everyone. There was speakers in living room which was great.

We came here in Jan 20-22, the weekend with 2 big storms. We ended up staying in the house the whole weekend. There was so much snow everywhere, kids even built an igloo. We couldn't even open the patio doors as they were filled up to the top with snow.

The driveway is a bit steep. Of the 3 AWD SUV's we had, only one managed to get up to the garage. We ended up leaving the 2 other cars at the bottom of the driveway which were promptly covered with snow.

Very open, great kitchen

  • 5 of 5

We really enjoyed that the floor plan was super open and we all felt really comfortable. The house's kitchen was extremely well-equipped, which was very convenient since we cooked all our meals over the weekend. Lots of bed space, and the master bathroom is huge!

When I went, this house didn't have any sand/salt to help clear the driveway, so our AWD/4WD cars that didn't bring chains couldn't get up the driveway. My suggestion is to check if this house has any provided and if not, you'll probably need chains to get up the driveway if it has snowed recently.

Nice big home for family vacation!

Verified Stay

We stayed in this property for 3 nights Jan 3-6th (we were suppose to stay until the 7th but left early because another huge storm was on its way). Despite the snow that made getting to the store and around town very tricky, we still had a great week! The layout of the home is awesome for multiple families, plenty of bedrooms and living spaces. Loved the long dining table and large kitchen. Two laundry facilities were nice too. The kids loved having the hot tub off the deck, to warm up in after playing in the snow. The home is maintained well and was nice and clean upon our arrival. A few things to note for future guests- it is pretty deep into Tahoe Donner and we received 3 feet of snow during our stay. The plows were having some trouble keeping up, and the plow for our driveway never showed, so we used the shovels in the garage and the ones we brought, to dig out. We also flagged down and paid cash to a plow driver passing by, to clear our driveway, on two of the mornings so we could get out. FYI- the driveway is pretty steep. Even though our cars all had 4 wheel drive, we still had to chain up to get up and down. But again, we happened to visit during a series of major storms. Vacasa was super easy to communicate with. Sending us instructions prior to our arrival. We also called their local manager, Torrie, a few times with questions and she was very responsive. Overall would highly recommend this property and look forward to visiting again!
