I have grown up on Pine Island Sound and live in Cape Coral since 1976. I have been up and down the Florida coastlines and have stayed in almost all of the areas. I love Bokeelia Island because of the location and people. It is far enough from big city stuff but also close enough to be safe and get away for the weekend. With a 15 minute car ride you have the best bars and restaurants that Matchlacha and Pine Island have to offer. Pine Island Sound, Charlotte Harbour and Boca Grande, also offers some of the most valuble fishing access both to back bay and The Gulf of Mexico.

The Driftwood Grande is a pefect located Stilted townhome two bedroom 3 bathroom home Situated 15 miles from Cape Coral, Florida. This home is Florida / Carribean motif as well as a sportfish paradise. It has been set up to make families or groups comfortable and secure. The downstairs storage with a keeps the home free of all extra gear. Upstairs has the perfect outdoor deck overlooking the bay and your vessel. With the pool, boat ramp and ships store only minutes away, you will never need to leave. From a full kitchen to the grill downstairs fresh catch is always on the menu. With 2 bedrooms having King bed and the twin queen beds, pull out sofa you can sleep eight comfortably. The dock will hold up to a 36' boat and has water and electric. Homes are cleaned weekly and all linens and towels are keep in good quality.
My wife and I stayed for the month of January and were very pleased with this condo. Although we do not fish nor have a boat, we still enjoyed watching the different boats travel the canal outside the lanai. Several bodies of water can be seen from inside the condo offering a beautiful view. Furniture was comfortable and was decorated with a "beach" look. Upstair bedrooms were very comfortable. Master bedroom has a beautiful view of the waterways. Kitchen had just about everyone we needed although we did add some silverware and bowls to the collection. All condos here are elevated because of proximity to the water. So there are a few steps. Assigned parking was directly under the condos and was well lighted during the night. If you want to fish and have a boat, this is THE PLACE for you! Your boat dock is right outside your lanai. If there was a downside to me it was several small areas in main floor restroom needed to be repaired and painted. But honestly, my wife thought highly of this condo and for her to say that means a lot. She is not easy to please and we did not even fish! There are also several very good places to eat seafood on the island. Red's was my favorite just north of the 4 way stop and Michelli's in Matlacha was my wife's choice. We both enjoyed the use of both pools and took part in their association meet and greet.
The condo was just as it was described. Plenty of room for all. We were able to keep our boat in the water for the entire length of stay. Easy access to Pine Island Sound, Charlotte Harbor and Boca Grande.
the BIC is a great location- this was our 2nd stay- the unit was ok- roomy kitchen adequate- several issues on arrival- no water, somethings damaged- owner not responsive= hope I dont get charged- not sure I would rent from him again- love the area and will be back
Contrary to other review. The property manager assured us that all problems were fixed since boxer mom review. We found the place clean and inviteing. Everthing I was looking for for fishing / fun get away! Great boating access, Great community. No suprises, What they are telling you you get and more. What are you waiting for? Book it and go!
When we arrived at this townhouse we found a posted notice dated 1/23/12 on the door from the BOD forbidding any renters from using any of the Bocilla Club amenities. The Sheriff's Dept. would be notified of violators. Contacted owner who promised to resolve this issue through his assistant and attorneys the following morning. Left message the following afternoon on owner's cell phone requesting status of situation. No word. Left another request on Monday, but never heard from him again. The notice remained on the door our entire stay. We had to wash out the frig. and stove before using either even though there was a "cleaning fee." The condition of things was disappointing. Fixtures were hanging from the celing in the kitchen and bathroom. Several overhead lights didn't work. Many electrical outlets did not have covers on them. Things didn't work. The lady next door was kind enough to loan us a toaster. This was just a terrible experience for something we were looking forward to. Prior to our trip, we asked owner if we should bring anything with us and he told us we might want to bring pool towels (which we couldn't use)! We understand from association members the posted restrictions was due to nonpayment of assessments for over a year. When I talked to owner on the first day of our stay, the response was "this wasn't supposed to happen." Well, maybe it wasn't, but it did and we were stuck looking at the four walls. We tried to resolve this situation through VRBO upon our return home, but like the cell phone message, we've yet to hear from owner. An apology would have been nice. It is such a shame because Bocilla Club is a nice venue and the townhouse could be lovely if only it were maintained. We feel as though we were taken advantage of because we know the owner is aware of the conditions and cirumstances with this particular rental property. We plan to return to Bokeelia, just not this particular townhouse.
