NOT RECOMMENDED....NO DIRECT CONTACT WITH HOST.. THE PLACE SEEMS TO HAVE MANY JUNKS OUTSIDE THE ROOM...
I was staying in this apartment for two weeks with two of my friends during our visit to Tokyo. The sizing of the flat was fine (enough space for three people and a lot of luggage) and the location was great! Right next to Harajuku, close to Shibuya Crossing and not even far away from sights like Meiji Shrine. Anyway, that's all the positive feedback I can give. The apartment itself is extremely dirty! I don't know why we had to pay a fee for cleaning... Even the clock in the kitchen was covered in dark mold. The bathroom as well. Mold everywhere. The towels were kind of smelly as well and the washing machine just kind of worked as you could just use it with cold water (not even 30°C). Some part of the toilet was missing and there were holes in the bathtub. Besides all the dust everywhere in the apartment there was also a lot of electronic scrap and bulky waste (one-armed bandit, old TV screen, old rusty bike.....). The pictures you are able to view on this website look like they've been taken a few years ago. It's not that tidy and neat anymore. It seems like the landlord left all his old personal belongings he doesn't need anymore in this apartment.
So in conclusion I can recommend you to pay a little more and rent a smaller apartment. Maybe that's not going to be in the middle of Tokyo's "hotspot", but we would have preferred a smaller, not that central apartment if it was cleaner. So please don't be fooled by this seductive price.
It was quite clean and a 10 - 15 min walk to Shibuya station. The place is a little old...the toilet and the bathtub could use some repairs. You also need to go up a pretty steep set of stairs to get to the room, so if you have issues with your knees beware. Otherwise, we enjoyed our stay :) This is a great place if you want somewhere quiet to sleep at night!
We never meet the host in the entire time we stayed in the place. The apartment is very accessible, this is what we really like. Although, I think, the owner should make some cleaning time with the house. For us, we don't really mind if the floor and furniture are dusty. We saw a broom outside the main door and we used it to sweep the floor. We are thankful that he provided what we requested, pillows and blankets for 6 people. We just noticed that some of the linens are already used and were mixed with the new linens.
The toilet/shower area became our main concern. The drainage was clogged, the tub have holes (although we don't use it to have a bubble bath), tiles need serious cleaning/brushing.
Aside from those things, our entire stay there is good.
Good location with lot of restaurants and shopping malls around, at first i couldn't find the location but luckily the host guide me there.
Morris T has given warm welcome to us and answered my enquiries promptly. He even bought a new electric heater for our usage due to extreme cold weather which we were not used to. The room is clean and just painted. Recommended for a small family traveling to Tokyo.
