This charming house is located just minutes to downtown Eugene, in the River Rd area. Walking distance to our gorgeous Willamette River bike/walking path (about 5 blocks). Centrally located. Just 8 miles to airport, 4 miles to downtown Eugene, 5 miles to the Autzen Stadium, 6 miles to U of O and 7 miles to River Bend Hospital. It is a peaceful neighborhood, nice and quiet, away from freeway's and trains. Available for the U of O foot ball games and other events. Pet friendly, has fenced in front yard (tiny dogs fit through front fence) as well as the back yard, with a dog kennel too that can be opened to the yard or closed off and has a dog entrance into the home. Dog door size is large but I would say more like medium sized. Pets must be approved. The master bedroom has a King size bed, bedroom number 2 has a King Size Bed, with a three inch thick, double size memory foam in the closet that can be used on living room floor, futon or double bed. There is also a twin size memory foam in that closet. Bedroom 3 has a full size bed, a twin size day bed with a trundle bed underneath, also another twin size memory foam in this closet. The large spacious living room comes equipped with a large screen TV, and a luxurious leather massage chair that will help you relax in just minutes, a couch with one working recliner and a rocking loveseat that has 2 recliners. There is a full size futon for extra quests, this room can be private just close the door between the kitchen/family room and living room. There is room for approximately 8 vehicles, you can fit three in the driveway if necessary but really shouldn't need it cause there is so much street parking available. The backyard has fir trees, lots of shade, is fenced in and a nice covered area to sit and relax. No smoking allowed in house, but outside o-k. Just a short 3 block walk to the city bus stop.
I believe I am a true Eugenion at heart. I have ventured outside of Eugene a couple of times during my life.. 8 ). My parents were living here when I was born but I was born in Portland. I grew up going on the beautiful Willamette River bike path for bike rides, walks, rollerskating and some rollerblading. I tried living in California for a few years but I knew my heart was still in Eugene. I feel so blessed to have been raised in such a beautiful place and so close to the coast and snow, surrounded by beautiful evergreen. There is no place like home, for me, I had to move back. I can't imagine moving away from Eugene again, I love, love, love it here! 8 )
Judy Mooney purchased this house in 2006
For one, it is very close to a bike path entrance. Another, I like the set up of the house. The living room and family room/kitchen has a door in between to close if desired. The bedrooms are spacious. I love the trees on my property. The Swedish birch in the front is so pretty when in bloom and blowing in the wind. The firs and my weeping sequoia in the back. There is built in air conditioning with shade covering the house pretty much all day. Another awesome feature, the very quiet, peaceful neighborhood. Very slow moving traffic because the street is very short and ends in a little round circle of a street, great for doing short laps around!
The home is pretty centrally located. Easy drive to so many places, the airport, the parks along the bike path, down town Eugene, Autzen Stadium, and U of O.
Judy was a pleasure to work with: She was very accessible before, during, and after our stay. She always made sure to return texts/phone calls promptly, and she was willing to go the extra mile and fast-track her house keeping so that my family could check in earlier after traveling on the road for nearly 15 hours.
The home and the property are adorable: the front and back yard are both fenced, and there is an attached dog kennel and a covered outdoor area in the back, lovely and charming landscaping, and a very private back yard.
As soon as you walk in, the house feels cozy and welcoming. Each bedroom has its own eclectic decor, which matches unique Eugene to a tee. There is even a little girls room that is as cute as a button, which was appropriate for us since I have a six-year old niece. Even if you don't have younger kids, the two beds in the room make boarding for extra visitors a cinch. The kitchen is large and open, and everything is clean. Great layout and separation of space so each guest feels comfortable. The single-level makes it easy for even older or disabled visitors to navigate. The property is on a quiet street near the bike trail and commuting, and is very easy to find!
You can tell the owners work hard to make sure their travelers are happy, I would definitely recommend this place--fantastic stay for the price!
The rooms were exactly what we needed for the entire family to be in one home away from home. This made so much more sense and was more affordable then several hotel rooms. We argued over who got the next turn to use the fantastic massage chair! Nice , quiet area of town, too.
No complaints from our employees who stayed at this rental.
My three grown sons and I stayed three nights at Moonlight Haven in a quiet, safe neighborhood while we were in town for my fiance's Memorial Service. Judy welcomed my little dachshund and arranged baby gates for us to use if we wanted to keep her in the kitchen area while we were at the actual service. We hung out in the living room together, and each of us also had our own quaint, homey bedroom to retreat to because the family room worked as a private sleeping room as well.I used the shower in the bathtub and it had excellent water pressure. My bed was soft and cozy.I took photos of some of the gorgeous flowers in the front and back fenced yards. We were in short walking distance to a great Mexican Restaurant ,Coffee Drive Thru, and best of all-the soothing river bike/walk path.It turned out the home was a mere 3 miles from the church where the memorial was held, and one mile from my fiance's daughter's home. For all of these reasons, I felt like there was divine intervention assisting me in finding this haven on VRBO on such short notice to meet our needs so well.
We really enjoyed our stay at Moonlight Haven. It was a short walk from the wonderful river trail, and the neighborhood was charming and very quiet, yet just minutes from downtown Eugene. The bedrooms were spacious and comfortable, and we all enjoyed time in the massage chair. The backyard was completely fenced, so we didn't have to worry about our pup at all. There was a nice enclosed area out back where we could sit, even in the rain. Ms. Mooney was very available to answer the few questions we had. All in all a wonderful introduction to Eugene, and a very cozy spot.
Wonderful house! Quiet location but close to everything. Owners are terrific to work with!
I would say check out the Willamette River bike path. There are a couple of restaurants that sit next to the river for a beautiful scenic dining experience! One is McMenamins North Bank located at 22 Club Road Eugene, and the other is Sweetwaters on the River at Valley River Inn located at 1000 Valley River Way.
