Casa “Mas Mañanas” is built on a cliff overlooking the beautiful Pacific Coast of Costa Rica. It is located inside the Tango Mar resort community with access to the amenities of the resort: a boutique hotel with great restaurant and bar, spa services, horseback riding on the beach, 9 hole golf course, tennis etc.
Tango Mar is a resort, but the location of Casa Mas Mañanas is so private that you feel you are in the middle of the jungle. With no neighbors visible on either side, you simply hear the waves of the Pacific crashing on the beach in front of you.
Numerous bird species, howler and white faced monkeys, and a jungle creek that runs along the back of the house enhance the serene and tropical feel. Additionally, a short jungle trail takes you down to the beach and the hotel in less than one minute!
Mas Mañanas is a traditional beach house, with an open kitchen and living area and two fully enclosed air conditioned master suites with king beds and en suite bathrooms. It has two more air conditioned bedrooms and a bathroom in the guesthouse casita, sleeping up to 6 people. Plenty of ceiling fans help circulate the air along the deck and in the bedrooms, and enhance the cooling effect of the Ocean breezes. Every feature of this house was designed to give its guests the true tropical Costa Rica experience. But in case you miss it, wireless internet is also available!
The house has its own private and amazing infinity pool boasting unobstructed views of the Pacific, and the surrounding expansive deck is the best place to have a barbecue at night under the stars.
Enjoy what the Southern Nicoya peninsula has to offer: great surf in Sta Teresa and Mal Pais, shopping, great restaurants and a bohemian atmosphere in Montezuma, natural parks in Curu, Isla Tortuga and Cabo Blanco, fishing, zip-lines, or just relax in your hammock with a glass of wine and the sound of the waves in your own private tropical paradise!

In case you're wondering, 'Mas Mañanas' translates literally to 'More Mornings'. The sentiment is simply a hope for more days or more opportunities to enjoy life's blessings!
My children and I simple loved Casa Mas Mananas! Everything about this home was relaxing and fun. It was clean and well maintained. The view was breathtaking and the pool...My goodness! It was truly our home away from home. Mr. Javier was amazing. He was always a phone call away when we needed a ride into town or just more salt (ugh!). The adventures he planned for us were amazing and satisfied my boys' adventurous natures. I will visit this beautiful home every chance I get. Thanks to all who made this vacation a dream!
We visited in mid-July with my daughter, her friend, and her two children and had a mostly terrific experience. The main part of the house and the pool are really incredible. Loved the open concept - always had a great view of the ocean/bay whether from the house or pool. The surroundings provided privacy and the feeling of being away from it all. Loved having the awesome pool to ourselves (and the occasional vulture that would land for a drink). Being the "rainy" season had us a little concerned but Javier told us not to worry - that the days would be beautiful and any rain would be in the evening or night. He was exactly right! A typical day was to get up and spend the day in and around the pool. Didn't miss TV and/or using my phone to stay in touch with people in the U.S. The internet service was sufficient to pick up texts, emails, and news. The house, pool and grounds are well maintained by Javier and his crew and they were quick to take care of a couple of small problems (light on patio not working, bulbs burnt out).
Some things to consider: The house is about 3 hours from the nearest major airport. We flew in to Liberia - easy to get through customs and Javier was there to pick us up and had a great opportunity to see much of the country while driving down - including about 40 minutes of gravel road. The sidewalk to the hotel / restaurant / beach is quite steep and anyone with health issues may not be able to negotiate it. There are other nearby (walking distance) restaurants - not a problem for us since Javier helped us get to grocery stores, meat markets and fruit stands where we bought was was needed to cook / grill our meals. The two main bedrooms (while roomy) are somewhat rustic. One bedroom in the back building is small but has an attached bathroom. The other bedroom is large, but no attached bathroom so will need to go to one of the other bedrooms for access to a bathroom. All bathrooms are only accessible from bedrooms.
Javier provides not only excellent property management but also provided us with transportation when needed and helped with an excursion that helped build great memories. He is great to work with as everyone has said!
Overall - a great vacation - relaxing - beautiful - great times - great memories with family - great pictures - great times in the pool (did I say great times in the pool)!
The house, location, view and service was beyond exceptional. Everything was better than described and we were able to fully enjoy our trip as we had nothing to worry about! The owner was very communicative about our stay prior to booking and answered any questions within 24 hours of asking. Javier, the manager of the property was delightful and took care of any need that we had. He also provided us with guide and transport service that was professional, fun and an adventure we will never forget. We hope to come back in the near future with our families and thankful for such a wonderful and unforgettable experience with my friends.
We vacationed with another family and had 2 kids in our group: 5 and 6 years old. Both adults and kids absolutely loved the place!
The house is very open, only 2 bedrooms have all 4 walls and air conditioning. The kitchen and leaving room are open to the ocean. Ocean breeze and multiple ceiling fans keep it nice even with 95F weather outside.
During our 1 week stay we were visited by many exotic birds and animals (yes! no need to go to a zoo, they just come to you) to the kids' delight. We saw howler monkeys, koaties, iguanas, parrots, humming birds and other creatures.
The property manager Javier Madrigal was very helpful: from providing information, taking us grocery shopping to setting up custom excursions. We went snorkeling to Tortuga island, took ATVs to Santa Teresa where we had a surfing lesson at Playa Hermosa, visited a goat farm and witnessed cheese making process - and all these activities are nearby and do not require a long travel. We also took one whole day trip. It was 4 hr drive to get there, but it was worth it. Miravalles Volcano trip included hot springs, mud bath, natural sauna, horseback riding, waterfalls, hanging bridges, rainforest hike and as a bonus: friendly toucan and numerous peacocks at the welcome center!
If you like photography - you won't have a chance to put your camera down. The scenery is breathtaking and colors are so vivid. Make sure to bring extra memory cards with you!
Casa “Mas Mañanas” is more than a vacation home, it’s a worry free experience that I have not felt anywhere else in my travels. Javier, the property manager, is like a personal concierge service. Our experience began even prior to our arrival. We were provided with very useful information that allowed us to plan every detail of our vacation before we even set foot on the peninsula. Once we arrived in Tambor, we were greeted with a very enthusiastic guide.
Upon arriving to the home, Javier explained all of the workings of the home and gave us a thorough tour. We had grounds keepers there daily to take care of the pool and gardening. They were hardly noticeable, but it was nice knowing that things were being taken care of behind the scenes. The open to the outdoors floor-plan was very relaxing and gave us a back to nature feel. There are 4 separate bedrooms each with an AC unit. We only used the AC units while we were sleeping. During the day, the fans along with the ocean breeze is more than enough to keep you cool. We were two families and children ages 5 to 6. The Iguanas, Howler Monkeys, and various bird species were a huge hit with the kids.
We booked 4 separate excursions with Javier, all of which exceeded our expectations. We started with a trip to the volcano “Miravalles”. The hanging bridges, waterfalls, horseback riding, beautiful scenery and the active hot springs were well worth the trip. The next day we took an ATV ride to Santa Teresa all along the coast to have a private surfing lesson at Playa Hermosa. Upon arriving home, we invited our guide Oscar to have a beer and he taught us how the locals peel a coconut and make coco-loco. It was quite an experience for the adults. On our third day we took a private boat ride to Tortuga Island to do some snorkeling and experience all that Tortuga island offers. There are Scarlet Macaws, parakeets, and a very friendly not-so-wild boar “Filomena” that had the kids going crazy. She absolutely adored belly rubs. On our fourth tour we took an excursion to a working goat cheese farm. The kids got a huge kick out of feeding the baby goats from a bottle.
Whether it be lounging by the infinity pool while grilling out or taking advantage of of the numerous packages as well as custom tours that Javier at Pura Vida Expeditions offers; Casa “Mas Mañanas” is a dream vacation that you shouldn’t pass up. Pura Vida!
This house is absolutely beautiful. We loved our stay. We were 6 adults visiting Costa Rica from the US and we could not have had a better experience. The rooms and bathrooms were spacious and clean and the wifi and the views were breathtaking. You wake up every morning to the sounds and sights of the ocean. The infinity pool and surrounding deck area were perfect. We loved the open air kitchen and living spaces coupled with the air conditioned bedrooms. There was always an excellent breeze and the ceiling fans keep the open air areas extra comfortable. We all loved reading in the big rocking chairs and the hammock while listening to the sounds of the ocean. We were in the pool morning, noon, and night. Star gazing at night from the pool deck was awesome and we were able to grill out several nights on the grill next to the pool. Just a short private walk and you are at the Tango Mar resort and can enjoy the restaurants there and private access to a secluded beach. The kitchen is spacious and well lit. It is stocked with the basics - cutting boards, cups, dishes, grill tools, and a blender. We had a rental car (SUV 4WD) and the drive to the grocery store in Cobano was easy. We also went down to the marina docks and bought fresh caught fish and grilled it. The house is about a 40 minute drive from Santa Teresa and Montezuma and perfect for day trips! Javier our property manager was very attentive and helpful. He became a friend. He helped us with anything we needed with the house and acted as a concierge for any activities we wanted to do. He helped us with a boat tour and snorkeling trip at Tortuga, ATV rides, and surf lessons. It was awesome and so easy! Oh and the house has a telephone and laundry!
