Classy, comfortable, clean

  • 5 of 5

The apartment is on a lovely, very Montreal-looking block. We arrived late and parked, and Stephan and Elsa were both extremely accommodating and lovely. The apartment is modern, spacious and open - and extremely clean. The bed is superb and comfortable, as are the couch, kitchen and dining area and the back porch - where we were able to sit and have coffee. We found everything we needed in the kitchen, choosing to stay in for dinner one evening as well. The metro and corner shops are within easy walking distance, and we were very close to a few places to eat and a couple of great bars. It was a little chilly outside during the stay, but the apartment was always warm and cosy. The decor is quite lovely and tasteful - I felt like I was in a fancy New York City apartment! I would stay here again in a heartbeat; it was perfect for a couple who love to walk and explore the city, but want somewhere homelike and classy to return to at the end of the day.

Well located and easy to access

  • 4 of 5

Well located and easy to access. This apartment is very close to a metro. Stefan made it easy to check in and out. This place is very simple and cozy, it is a very typical Montreal apartment. Although it was a little bit old, it didn't bother me as it was extremely clean and well-equipped. It felt very safe as it's right above the owners" place. I really enjoyed my stay.

Gives you a true taste of the city

  • 5 of 5

Located in the Hochelaga neighborhood, or a few steps from the Olympic Stadium (Montreal '76) . A few steps away from the Metro (subway) station. It is a nice studio apartment with a full kitchen and bathroom and two balconies one in the front and one in the back. The owners are friendly and courteous. The location itself gives you a lot better understanding of the city than some Business District Hotel. With local cuisine nearby " La Quebecois" for local food and also a lot of options in Middle Eastern food , Portuguese, Brazilian , Italian, French . Montreal is a biking city so you are better off with a subway pass and a bike that a car as the parking can be a little confusing between zone parking for residents and parking restrictions for cleaning. I drove from Chicago so I would know. Ottawa and Quebec city are 3 hours away by car so that can come in handy. (Train ticket is $77CAD both ways to Quebec City per person and $45 to Ottawa per person). The Joliette station will get you pretty much anywhere and Opus card pass for $30 unlimited rides week pass is worth it.

For the checklist:

Apartment was very clean

Good customer service

Wifi (not that you'll need it all that much; lots to see)

Old Town, Olympic Stadium and Mount Royal are the main attractions. Quebec City and Ottawa nearby for more exploring.

there is a small bar nearby. (although if you prefer a party like atmosphere bars at rue crescent will be more your thing)
