Everything we could ask for and more!

This was by far the best family vacation we've ever taken & we are returning again for spring break 2017. Chris' home is ultra comfortable, clean, luxurious and has every amenity you could ask for. It's convenient access to Spanish Peaks Mountain Club is key for great food, entertainment & relaxation. The kids and adults loved going there. Chris promptly answered all our questions prior to arrival and responded immediately when we contacted them about something trivial (the cable box needed to be reset & was an easy fix). Chris followed up to make sure everything was okay well. We used the SUV as well and it worked fine and was a big savings compared to what we would've rented one from at the airport. Chris was great to work with, went above and beyond. I highly recommend this beautiful mountain home!

Excellent finishes and furnishings. Great well equipped kitchen. Best location and views in the Club

The time we spent at this beautiful home was enjoyed by all! The house exceeded our expectations on so many levels, from the superb furnishings and decor, to the idyllic setting offering views of ski runs, Lone Peak, and afternoon alpenglow on the Spanish Peaks. The home enjoys a very convenient location between two ski runs leading to a private ski lift. However, because It's only a short walk to the clubhouse, we generally chose to begin our ski day there with the tasty complimentary breakfast, before meeting the ski valet who had our boots warmed and skis on the snow ready to go! Others in our group chose to use the exercise and spa facilities at the club --which are quite luxurious.

The great thing about this home's excellent location is that everyone can be self sufficient and do what they want. Some of our group only skiied a couple of hours and were able to easily ski directly home no poling.This allowed plenty of time for them to enjoy a glass of wine in the private hot tub, which is steps from the deck, before preparing to cook a turkey dinner for 10. The kitchen lacks for nothing, in fact is over equipped. The six burner Thermador oven/range easily accommodated a turkey and all the fixins'. We also made use of the two outdoor grills, which was fun in the winter!

This home is well laid and comfortably accommodates a lot of people. It basically has two living areas, both with fireplaces, one with books the other with TV. All bedrooms have Direct TV HD service as well. Our stay couldn't have been better. The owner was accessible, easy to deal with, and offered a wealth of information.

Fav in Spanish Peaks

I'm not sure what might have happened with the previous vacationer's experience, but we too have stayed almost everywhere in Big Sky and Spanish Peaks over the last 15 yrs, and this home is always our first choice (when it's available) because it has the best view of all the Spanish Peaks cabins, the bedrooms are the best appointed of the ones we've stayed in (with 3 king sized beds and a large bunk room), and Chris is incredibly easy to work with. And guess what, we're booked again for this season!

Most disappointing home I have ever rented

The house is filthy! I am sitting on the couch now shocked that anyone would have given this home any stars at all, but I guess one is the lowest possible. I should say I have rented many Spanish Peaks homes, and other properties in Big Sky and have never had this type of experience. The garage is full of discarded furniture, an SUV with balding tires and it doesn't run. The hot tub is broken and has been since we arrived. Lights are burned out, old broken microwave in the kitchen. Blinds on filthy handprinted windows won't lift or come down fully and are stuck at a bizarre angle in the Great Room. The ice cube maker is broken and seems to have been for some time, there are old half used bags of ice in the freezer. The 1000 thread elegant sheets have balls of fabric from too much use - my sheets made from cotton don't do that. Towels are stained too, yuk. Some Televisions don't work. Old Christmas lights laying on porch, snow shovels laying around - basically this is a trashy dirty home. When I spoke to Spanish Peaks Club they tell me that there is no real house manager - so nothing can be repaired. We have been waiting since day 2 for the hot tub. Chris has lots of reasons and excuses but nothing has been done. They actually asked if their old broken items and wires coming out of walls ruined our vacation. Well yes, we don't rent hovels, I guess this time we did!!! Renter beware - this homeowner wants to charge luxury prices for a home that needs some TLC and lots of repairs. Don't do it - I know I never will again!

Owner's Response: I take great pride in keeping my Spanish Peaks home in excellent condition. If you're considering giving Paul and Kathleen's review credibility, I suggest you also take a look at some of my 26 other reviews with an average 5 star rating, including one just a couple weeks before Paul arrived. Paul contacted me the day that he arrived and mentioned a few things he thought needed attention at the cabin. The cabin was thoroughly cleaned for 12 man hours the day before Paul and Kathleen arrived. When Paul first contacted me, I offered to have all issues remedied immediately by my caretaker. He refused, stating he just wanted to enjoy his vacation with no disturbance. I repeated my offer several times over the next few days while I stayed in touch with him to insure that he and his group were having the best possible stay. I first received word from Paul that the hot tub was not working properly about 5 days into their stay. I had Spas and Home Recreation Services, the Hot Tub maintenance company based in Bozeman take a look at the tub. Nick had to reset the controller because "someone who couldn't figure out how to operate the tub had pushed alot of buttons and somehow locked up the system" The controller has been reset and Nick told me the tub is in perfect operating condition. Paul told me he didn't want to use the Suburban, he had his own vehicles. As with many vehicles which don't receive much use, a trickle charger is required to keep the battery in good shape for starting power. Perhaps someone forgot to connect the charger after the last use. I replaced the tires this spring, so I don't understand the tire comment. As an aside, Paul mentioned he thought it would be a Bentley. There are two microwaves in the kitchen one undercounter became inoperative. I have cooked a number of meals for twelve or more adults in the the kitchen with the current top of the line appliances. Some one in Pauls group damaged the blinds in the main family room. I have contacted "The Blind Guy" from Bozeman to examine and repair any blinds in the house that need attention. Mike will be at the house on Monday 8/22. All five of the televisions work, have been checked and operated recently, perhaps some people aren't used to operating a new DirectTV system with a wireless, centrally located High Definition DVR receiver. A couple days before Paul's party left, Paul contacted me to .and said he wanted a 50% refund. Please make your own assessment re the motive for review.
