New electrical and plumbing, coral stone floors, kitchen and bath. Air-conditioning thru out, modern furniture and 40'' flat screen TV with premium programming and DVD player.
The apartment comes completely outfitted with bed linen for it's two queen size beds, towels and a complete kitchen. Wonderful large outdoor patio space. It was centrally located as advertised. The point person Martin was very responsive to any questions or concerns I had. I would definitely recommend it.
Very nice and clean a little distant from main old San Juan hot spots but we had few great 50m walks
Overall it was very nice, across from the beach and next to a couple yummy food places. Used uber sometimes and also had great walks from San Juan late in the evenings and all felt safe.
Well cared for but not a quiet place.
This property in Old San Juan is newly remodeled, well taken care of and clean. It is just a 5 minute walk to only beach in Old San Juan. It is a 45 minute, 2 mile walk to El Morro Fort. It is not in the picturesque portion of the city. 1/2 block away is El Hamburguer, a burger restaurant frequented by many locals.
This unit is in the front of the building, with one bedroom window right on the sidewalk. The other bedroom window opens to the courtyard just feet from the security gate that the rest of the units use to gain access to the building. The first morning we were awaken by another guest talking on her cell phone at 4:30 am next to our bedroom window while trying to get out through the security gate. On weekends El Hamburguer is very busy. Parking for it overflows in front of the unit making it very hard to park your car close by. It is open until 1 am weekdays and 4 am weekends, so if you are in the front bedroom, lots of car traffic and talking people pass just feet from your bed. One evening we were awaken at midnight by people of the neighborhood screaming and celebrating with bicycle horns. It must have been for a baseball game. About the time we would get back to sleep they would start celebrating again. It continued until 1:30 am. If you plan to sleep in in the morning past 8 am, there is an elementary school directly across the street that the kids start screaming at that time.
All of the rooms have new AC units which work well. The back bedroom unit though has a LED display screen that I could not see a way to turn down the brightness. If the unit is on at night, it is like having a 20w bulb directly above your head. We finally had to move both beds into the back bedroom, turn the living room AC on high, and leave the bedroom door open. We had 2 nights of decent sleep out of 5. After the first night we understood that it was not a quiet place and asked to have 3 nights refunded so we could go to a quieter place. Our request was rejected. I have stayed in quieter youth hostels than this place.
Our street is actually very quiet by 9pm during the week and midnight on weekends. Parking is generally very easy with the exception of at lunch time when sometimes we get the overflow from El Hamburger, a very popular local restaurant.
We are less than a mile from the center of Old San Juan which can be a very pleasant 25 minute walk. If you do not a have a car and are not up for a walk, there is a bus stop within 2 blocks of our property that will take you into the center of the old town or, in the opposite direction, to the Condado neighborhood for $0.75.
This is the first time we have ever had a complaint about the LED light from an air conditioner. Nothing we can do about it. I will add, because they are state of the art, they are very quiet. No constant humming during the night.
It is unfortunate when a guest and our property are not a good match. This guest would have been better served by staying at a hotel than in a local neighborhood environment.
The apartment was beautiful, comfortable, set up very nicely, the location was convenient. I will deff recommend and use in the future. Thank you for your hospitality.
Overall, everything was great. The only problem we had was the Wi-Fi, other than that our stay was wonderful. We will be back!!
This location was located near old San Juan and close to everything else around it. Great beach a lock away and a good restaurant around the conner. But the Appartment was great and it was equipped with everything we needed for our stay and we had washer and dryers. The only one thing I don't like was the bathroom shower had no water pressure what so ever. Other than that I give it 4 stars.
We are glad to hear that this guest enjoyed their stay. It is unfortunate that they did not bring their water pressure issue to our attention until after they had left, we could have solved the problem very quickly for them. For future guests, we have someone available thru out your stay to ensure that when you need help, we are there to do exactly that.
