I work from home very close to where the apartment is located, running a small business, letting and managing properties for my clients.
Having worked in the business for some 15 years, I am quite familiar with this property, which belongs to one of my clients who lives abroad.
Quite simply, it's a home away from home!
Stephen is a great guy and is more than ready to help. The location of the apartment is fantastic, with proximity to Earls court station and many pubs and eateries.
However, the apartment is located in the attic of an old building and needs some attention in the general cleanliness, the bathroom needs work, the bedroom wardrobe is pretty poor condition ( a dozen good hangars can be far better than 25 flimsy plastic hangars), the blind on the window is short (was an issue in the summers). One of the sofas in the sitting room needs attention. Lastly the living room has got cramped, because they have put couple old office computer tables with PC and printers and fax machine. (these could come handy for business traveler, but not for holiday makers).
Hence the apartment gets a 3 star rating.
Comfortable little flat convenient to Earls Court tube station, grocery stores, local pubs and restaurants. Having access to a computer was a plus for us. Stephen met us outside the property, and after familiarizing us with the flat, encouraged us to phone him should we need anything. He messaged us once during our stay to make sure everything was okay, which I though was nice. Our son slept on the sofa bed. It was slightly too short for his 6' frame but otherwise he did fine. Fans were provided in the bedroom and front room and were much appreciated. Kitchen is smaller than it appears the photos; just an observation, not a complaint.
The only downside I could think of, and this is a stretch, because it didn't bother us and we really loved this place, is that the building is on a busy main road. If you are looking to stay on a quiet residential street, this may not be the place for you. I'm sure closing the windows would mitigate the traffic sounds, but we had them open during our entire stay in late July and early August.
In short, it was a perfect home away from home for our 11-night stay, and Stephen was great.
We had a great time in London. The flat is perfectly located and fully equipped. Mr. Stephen McQuillan is very nice and helpful. He has made our stay very pleasant. We'd like to stay in the same flat next time in London.
It is our second stay in this nice comfortable and practical 1-bedroom flat. The location could not be better. Within walking distance to so many sights like the V&A Museum, NHMuseum,
Hyde Park and other attractions. Easy to get to the Tube Station. Direct link to Heathrow Airport. Fantastic! A nice place to stay and enjoy London.
Stephen is an unequivocal human. When my father and I decided to spend a week in London, we weren't exactly sure what to expect from our stay here. When it became clear to us that we would be nearly two hours late to meet with Stephen to exchange keys, and discuss the apartment, he was very kind and willing to work with the complications. When we finally did make it to the apartment, Stephen met us with groceries and some flowers to help make up for the time we had lost at the airport.
He proceeded to run us through the apartment, show us what we needed to know about. (As Americans, some of the UK things were quite different). He then left us with a map and some suggestions for restaurants we could go to.
This apartment is within walking distance of Earl's Court tube station, which connects to the District and Picadilly Line. It's a nice neighborhood in Kensington and Chelsea. You can even walk to Hyde Park if you're up for a long walk.
If you're looking for an inexpensive place to stay in London, that is just far enough away from the hustle and bustle, but just close enough that all you have to do is hop on a five minute tube, then this is it.
Stephen is more than willing to help you with whatever you need. Even when we had an unexpected visitor, he came and brought extra linen for him.
I will be staying here again next summer, for sure!
Stephen is one of those people you can sit down and have a beer with, and I highly suggest you do.
Also, the shower is excellent, which seems to be one of the commonly worst things in rented apartments. But, here, it was perfect.
Thank you, Stephen for an incredible stay. I hope to see you again soon!
Very close to Earl's Court, restaurants, take-away and super-market, The appartment is perfect for two or three people who want to visit London. The owner is very attentive and the apartment was adequate for a short stay of one week. With no doubt, the next time we'll return to London, we'll choose again this flat.
Well located for all sights in central London, on direct bus routes to the West End, for theatres and 5mins walk to local Underground station, connecting with all parts of central London.
